Not Very Useful

Hopefully the developers will continue to work on this app as it has great potential. However, for now, it’s not very useful. For example, in an environment that is not pitch black, when it’s already difficult to see satellites, this app doesn’t help the user orient their phone in the sky. The view is very wide angle, and apparently can’t be zoomed. And, the text is too small to read, and I couldn’t find a way to increase the size to make it legible. Plus, even when a satellite is named, I didn’t find an easy way to get useful information about it. Lastly, perhaps it’s illegal to identify US government satellites. I don’t know, but that would be ridiculous since China, Russia, Iran, and every other country track our satellites. In any case, the reason I downloaded this app was to learn about the three satellites-in-row that travel over my location each night. But nothing. I can see them clearly, but the app doesn’t even display them. Maybe this is a great app for someone, but for me it was a disappointment even though I subscribed to gain access to the extra features.

Alerts you tho ISS is in shadow?

The visuals are very nice. You get three views of the ISS position plus the ability to point your phone at some of the brightest stars and see their names. When ISS passes, center it on your screen and your phone will be pointing at where to look.I am disappointed that the app tracks satellites besides the ISS only if you subscribe. It’s there in the fine print; so, despite the fact that I’m going to immediately uninstall the app, I can’t ding it any stars for that in the rating.- - -I’ve retuned to deduct three stars. I’ve gone out to look for the ISS three times and not seen it. Perhaps it’s in earth’s shadow at 7:15 pm in December; but if it is, the app ought to have calculated the brightness and not alerted me.

For all those Stargazers!

I’m 51 and if I had this tech and app when I was a kid life would have been very different for me. No longer can one just glance at the night sky and wonder…now, we can wonder “How much metal is actually in low earth orbit and how does my amateur Astronomer brain cypher everything this app provides! Now I’m not going to say everything in this app is legit (seriously though how cool is it if it is!?) The only reason I’m not rating it a 5 stars is there is no way to prove all the tech is real! I sure hope it is as it sure is a fun app and has provided hours of backyard viewing and letting the mind roam the great space ways.

Only 15 Sats & Unsubscribing Near Impossible

After trying the trial version and being disappointed that I could only evaluate it with the ISS, I purchased a subscription because the price seemed so reasonable. Once I saw the subscription had only 15 satellites, I immediately tried to unsubscribe. As many others have pointed out in negative reviews, unsubscribing is nearly impossible. I experienced the exact same thing others did which is that the "unsubscribe" link in the app is broken and takes you no where. While I do not believe this app is intended to be a scam, the broken unsubscribe link IMMEDIATELY makes me suspicious. I had to spend 10 minutes googling to figure out how to forcibly unsubscribe by going deep into the iPhone Settings app. This is really a shame because with one exception, the design and functionality of the app itself seems pretty good. The only annoying thing about functionality (other than only tracking 15 satellites) is that you cannot zoom in on the globe to see precisely where the satellite is passing over. You can only see the whole global from space and get a rough visual idea of where it passes over. If the app had warned me ahead of time that subscribing only gives me 15 satellites AND if the "unsubscribe" button worked so it didn't give the impression of being a scam, I would have rated this app 4 out of 5 stars. Those two things would have saved me and many others a great deal of frustration. I do not recommend this app at all.

Satellite Tracker

I am only interested in ISS (the Space Station) & Hubble, NOT every satellite that comes within 400 mi. of my residence but (& I am not tech savvy at all, I’m 70) but I get the same “notification” (sound + drop-down notice) for EVERY single satellite, which interrupts whatever I’m doing & I cannot figure out how to block all the others! I’ve asked creators. Most space apps give too much extra junk (like cartoons over constellations which i hate.) Finding a simple app is hard. Used to be app called ‘star junk’ point phone @ star & get name & designation (blue super-giant). Period. Many fans. Quick, easy CS

Wow ! Take a look from space, what a world !

Wow ! Take a look from space, what a world !This offers you different views from the space station and it really makes you think that if you were up in that space station what would you be thinking of seeing the vastness of space versus the earth down below. It can be both very enlightening to the other extreme very scary. I am myself I could not spend a day up there I’d be terrified. God bless the men and women of the international space station.

Super Cool App For Spotting Satellites!

This app really works! I keep track of which satellites I’ve seen by taking a screenshot of the projected path when I’ve spotted it, as well as the “satellite’s view” of my location as it passes over. Note that sometimes satellites are in the earth’s shadow and can’t be seen, or may be too dim to view if you have a lot of light pollution in your area as I do. For the latter situation I find a bright star or planet near the projected path and then scan the area with binoculars as the satellite is supposed to be passing by. My favorites so far are ISS and Hubble which can both be quite bright!

99 cents

Most of us lose 99 cents in a couch cushion in a day. It's cheap. 99 cents for like 3 months I think and it's easy to cancel. This developer is doing us a solid. I also like that it's not complicated. It has to be simple so the average person can enjoy it. For the more advanced science nerds out there, there are bigger better more appropriate tools. This is for the novice. I don't want to be a rocket scientist, just a casual user to have simple fun with. There needs to be more satellites though. One new one per month or something. It's fun to see a satellite then open a tab and google and learn its history and stuff. What would be REALLY cool is to have a live forum for the ap users to chat with while seeing the satellite travel across the sky! Link users and satellites. It would be cool to know when a person "sees" what I'm seeing in real time 400 miles alway. More user interaction...more of a collective experience. Also, maybe integrate the live camera feeds for iss into the page so you can track and watch....I have a stupid powerful laser and I'm dying to see if I can see a tiny green dot on the camera if I shine it up there. Boy wouldn't that pizz off the flat earthers if you could see it live on camera in orbit!

VERY SIMPLE 👍🏼

I've been enjoying this app for multiple years. Probably since it beginning 9 yrs ago. It now has an annoying bug. The degrees in "Elevation Above The Horizon" is reversed😩. luckily most of us can tell the difference. And I have checked and dbl checked my ios device, and compared it with friends device. Same thing😞. AND hopefully soon!, You will add "Starlink" Satellites in the mix. 👍🏼🤞.. I would gladly pay $$ for the upgrade!Keep it safe, hopefully Covid isn't affecting developers. ✌🏼

It’s good but needs some additional features to be practically useful.

There is no easy way to manage groups of related satellites. For example, HAM radio satellites - OSCARs and other “satcubes” that have repeater(s) on board. It could be useful to have such categories prefilled by known names and to have option to switch tracking on them at a “single click”. Another categories could be geostationary TV satellites, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo, Starlink.More information about selected satellite could be very useful, such as what does it carry (purpose), what frequencies does it transmit on, how many years does it fly, what country does it belong to etc..
