Not all the features needed

I downloaded the app because you can manage the amount of time your kids spend on their devices. Unfortunately, you can only select the hours of the day they can access their devices, and not set a time limit. It allows you to pause their devices, but I don’t want to have to keep track on my own.

Lag and glitches TERRIBLE

I am the parent. I put the family safe on my kids’ PCs. The program did nothing but give us headaches for 2 days before I uninstalled it. The only thing that changed was this program.On one computer the headphone jack stopped working and on the other it messed up screen settings. It also had SO MUCH LAG on both computers it was like using a 1985 word processor. I spent 30 minutes uninstalling this program from 2 PCs. I had to do the “allow uninstall” link 5 or 6 times on each system before it finally accepted. Even after uninstalling, the headphone jack still didn’t work until I did a full factory reset. Gigantic waste of time in an otherwise ok lineup of security software.

Very crappy app. DONT WASTE your TIME

So since may of last year been trying to get refund. Going back and forth with the company mcafee. Finally at the end of january 2020 they tell me that i need to go thru itunes for refund since i got app thru itunes. So for the past 8 months NO ONE could tell me this? I told them from beginning how i bought the stupid app and not one employee could tell me that? Not even the 2-3 “managers” could tell me this months ago? So now im out the money i paid for. I did talk to apple and the best they could do is prorate refund. So i got 13 freakin bucks back from the 50 i spent on it. Mcafee wont be getting my services anymore. And they can thank their customer service reps and “ managers”.

Great service but...

So I love that this app lets me control all my kid’s phones, tablets and computer. The only downside is that I have had issues with the app itself acting like I don’t have a subscription (but I do) and neither Apple or Mcaffee support knew how to solve the problem. Eventually I figured out that if I open the from a different location, it opens correctly.

Love this app but since last update, it’s draining my battery!

We seriously love this app! I can control everything on his tablet and see what he’s doing! Since the last update, it’s draining my battery! My battery usage is showing 53% of my battery today was used by this app and I haven’t even accessed it once! Please fix this!

New User

I am just starting to use this. So I’m sure I’ll be updating this review. So far I like it. It was easy to set up. I do have a suggestion: allow parents to set hour and minutes on their own. Like instead of half hour increments do by 5’s. For now I’m giving it four stars.

Poor Performance & Functionality

I have been search for a flexible parental control app and I have tested a number of the highest rated apps. Then, I came across SafeFamily. I have tested the app for over a week now and I can confidently say that it suffers from basic yet important performance issues and lacks flexibility. For example, in many separate occasions, I grant access to the children devices (remotely through my smart phone or locally using the child’s device) but the children devices remain locked.

HORRIBLE

This is the worst app ever!!! There are so many more better options than this, my kids have been hacking into it and turning everything off! When I first got it, I recommended it to my neighbor, and her kids just stole her phone to turn it off! We don’t even use it to be “safe.” I just use the time out and the schedule. If the developers want a suggestion, make it so that the adults can use their phone numbers instead of their emails, because emails are a LOT easier to hack apparently. Make it quick, or I am NEVER using or recommending this app again!!!

I wish I could give this a zero

We had gotten this app because my brother and sister were addicted to their devices. After the 30 day trial we were unable to take the app off of their devices. We had to actually reset them and lost a lot of their things. They lost all their Minecraft worlds and honestly I am so mad at this company. I will never get anything of this mcafee company. I HATE IT. Do not get this if you do not want it to take over your child’s device forever.

This is messed up and I am disgusted

So you people are going to control children’s lives?!? Do you remember when you were kids and could sneak out and have fun. Kids just want some freedom they don’t want to be the weird kid that can’t do anything cause their parents don’t trust them. I am disgusted with you parents who SPEND MONEY to control your kids lives. They can only live once let them make the best of it. Let them live their lives. I’m sure they will appreciate I have a great relationship with my kid he talks to me and is always open. You installing this ruins your relationship with them. I know when I was a kid and my parents controlled me I was always angry at them. That’s why I swore I would never parent how they did. And my kid loves it. I suggest you do the same
