Confusing

Not the easiest to navigate. I've been trying to figure it out for two days. Actually have to close app and reopen to get to list of maps screen. Although there maybe an easier way. Then I realized app seemed familiar. It was previously published under name of Maps which I already had and gave up on. Whichever one you you use it also shows up on the other. Wasted my money on a duplicate program just with a different name!

Life saver

Road tripper is absolutely a life saver. I just started a career in pharmaceutical sales and have used this so much. Anytime you need help, or have questions or suggestions - the zurrapps team is happy to help! They will email you back ASAP. A few suggestions:A) turn by turn voice directions or ability to open routes in google maps app or maps app in iPhone. Just so that I can get from point a to point b without looking at iPhone or iPad. Safety measures would be lovely. B) have users create an account so that when they log in from multiple devices the maps will already be loaded. I am in love with this app and I've had very little problems. Any issues I have had have been dealt with almost immediately. Great job. Best routing app I know! I've recommended the app to all sorts of people.

Just what I was looking for.

I drive for a living, and have several dozen repetitive routes that I make on any given day. This does a great job of remembering them so i don't have to.Devs are extremely responsive! I updated to IOS 5 and my paid app reverted to the free version with ads. When I emailed them I received a solution within a half hour. If this has happened to you, you can get it again at no cost by going thought the in-app purchase screen. As long as you're using the same Apple ID as the one you'd previously paid with you pay nothing. After you type your Apple ID password a dialog box confirming this pops up.I don't usually write glowing reviews, so I guess I should confirm that I don't work for these guys, know these guys or care about what happens to their puppies. This is just a good app.(though I'd love it if I could import a map from names and addresses in an excel file. Just sayin)

This app is garbage!!

I had the old version, I believe produced by someone else, and it wasn't perfect but it was easy and almost fun to use. This is a waste of time and money. Wish I could get my three bucks back. Activating gps mode keeps sending my around the world. Apparently I'm in the ocean off the southwest coast of Africa. Even when choosing travel by car it shows straight line routes that don't even follow the streets. I never could get the points of interest (museums, parks, etc) to show up. The old version was instinctual and easy, this piece of $&@% requires watching tutorials just to barely get started and that's about all the help they offer. I've wasted half an hour on it. Complete crap.

Just Awful - what's the point?

A blog said this app was a must have for cross country road trips to track where you go. I sincerely wish I knew sooner into the trip how terrible this app was. Constantly stopped tracking, crashes every single time I use it (no exaggeration), freezes, difficult to manage, can only place five points until you have to pay for an upgrade. I wish I had anything positive to say but I'm just sincerely disappointed in the quality and processes of this application. If you're going on a road trip, find something else or grab a sharpie and an atlas to save yourself the frustration and disappointment. This app would be great if it actually worked.

Good app good tech support--a nice find for backroaders

I am planning a 2000+ mile back roads motorcycle trip and I want to use my iPad to route it and modify the trip "on the fly." My gps is good, but clunky to build extensive routes and it has a small screen. I purchased the full version of this app and am quite pleased. I agree with the previous review that it's in beginning stages, but it's the only app I've found so far that lets me build an extensive route choosing the roads I want to use. Apparently Google Maps limits the number of destination and waypoint queries one can make in a day and that flummoxed me until zurapps technical support clarified what was happening. And, speaking of, technical support has been very responsive and knowledgeable and fast. It would help to have better help menus and I wish I could just drag a route line to a new road, but overall it's very good and does what I want it to do, like build a route from Sabine Pass, TX to Marshall, TX by going through Zwolle, LA. As long as I don't exceed Google Maps' query limit :-(

Cool app...

Downloaded this app to help plan a 10 day east coast road trip. It has potential to be very handy..however needs many improvements. I found it challenging to intuit how to use, and the user guide minimal. Tried to upgrade for full use of features .... But nothing changed, functioning stayed the same.... Hopefully they get back to me on that soon . ... Would be a nice option to have the app synced up with landmarks, parks, attractions, business, etc. So you can see if there things of interest along your trip route. An ability to "plug" in multitudes of destinations on one map AND be able to rearrange the order later would also be a nice feature .... Then to be able to see to be able to see miles between each destination. AND the FULL trip highlighted on the map all at once. This app is One of a few of it's kind Out there ... so I hope they keep working on making it better and better.

Good idea

I like the ample text boxes. You can get lots of information in them. Lots of good choices in the information menu including a brief tutorial and u-tube links. But what's driving us nuts is that every time you open it, it takes you back to your start point at the beginning of your trip. We have not been able to find the "current location" button on the iPad version at all. You can follow your progress but when you stop, takes you back to the start of the trip. And when plotting your trip, if you look for a motel, say, outside the app and come back to the app, it again takes you to the start of the trip not where your last point was. Then you have to scroll to find your last pin. Very inconvenient. Love the "miles" and " driving time" information. Updated: tried this app again and it's a total fail. Don't buy.

Changing route

Pretty nice travel planner. Gives you good tips on places to stop, but also just an easy way to plan a trip. I always found it frustrating that the trip doesn’t come out in the order I put it in, well I contacted the developer and there is a fix for it. I thought I would share here for others that need it. Hold down the location and then you can place it where you want it in your trip.

Great app

Bought the pro version. 2 comments: After entering several locations, the app shuts off and the ipad switches back to the home screen. No information is lost thank goodness.Second, after entering several locations and color coordinating them, Need to be able to filter that map by the color and be able to list them in the list order by color also.
