Now here is something

This has many good points, and many bad drawbacks This is a review on iPhone 7+—————————The badGame is laggy.Game crashes a lotLack of detail on upgrades (what even is the point of bigger weapons?)Upgrades that only effect new units... (your majority won’t have the upgrade)Obvious better choices of upgrades (why get a small upgrade for your ranged when you get get an all stat up?)Lack of upgrades. And or upgrade paths? (What if you could get turrets or ranged units could become medics?)—————————The goodThe game seem to be funThe game has a good strategy partThe game has plenty of potential I can’t wait to see this game progress. I would love to up my review for a game such as this. The creators seem to be very in tune with their playersUPDATE 2Thank you for responding to my review and taking your time to read itMaybe I could give so ideas? What if turrets were added, as a means to up your castle? They could have limited rounds per wave Or have a health bar?And what if mages were added? A weaker than glass unit, but can do aoe damage or buff units? And for my final idea, Upgrade paths. What if you could make a tanker like a spiky shield OR a Knight in armor? The ranged one a bow, or maybe just a chained javelin to attack enemy’s on the way back. The warriors swords? Or maybe tridents? The possibilities could be greatThanks again

Great game... but kinda bland

This game is surprisingly addictive I find my self coming back to it a lot. The formations and city building features are what gives this game a strategic boost. I honestly hope this becomes a great game. My main complaint however, is the game feels bland. The city and fighting area are completely white with no color even the units kinda blend together I would love to see more decoration in the game and the menus. Another thing I’d like to see is a campaign mode. Nothing really complex just levels you have to survive each one having a bit of difference. I would also like a difference in enemy units like how the player gets tanks and spear throwers maybe the enemy’s get different units as well.

How does this have 4.6 stars?

It’s yet another incredibly dull game capitalizing on the success of TABS while offering nothing worthwhile. Two stars are because it’s only boring, but doesn’t have a pay wall...I can’t see anything to gain by giving them money. As other reviews by real people who aren’t bot accounts have said, there’s an over abundance of ads. Each map/round consists of ten waves. After each wave there’s an option to pick a free upgrade, followed by an optional second upgrade granted by watching an ad. Whatever. The problem is, if you don’t watch that ad for the bonus, you’ll have to watch an ad at the end of the wave anyway. So you’re effectively wasting 30 seconds each wave no matter what you pick. Actual critique for the game not regarding painfully repetitive gameplay, are the bosses on the final waves. They are called “Big Did/e” since somebody didn’t proofread for the word “dude” and they are ridiculously op. First encounter had all sorts of troops lined up and in a matter of three seconds wiped everybody out...until you move them forward and then he shoots over their heads directly at your city. It’s great. Play this game for the round and delete it. It’s not worth more time. Also the main menu is very unintuitive and personifies just how cheaply this game was made.

Abundance of Advertising

After each stage completion, you’re given a choice of three options for upgrading your defense for that play through. After you select your upgrade, you’re given an option for a bonus upgrade, but this comes at the cost of being served up an advertisement. That is fine.Another option is politely declining your bonus option with the “No Thanks” button. You’d think that this would just take you back to the game, but it doesn’t. You’ve got a 50/50 chance of being served up an advertisement anyway. That’s not fine.I get that there needs to be a revenue stream, but the advertisement after every other stage is feels excessive given that the stages themselves are quite short and especially after you’re seemingly given an option to decline. I don’t load up a game to stare at ads for 50% of my experience.

Great Game! Hope for more content in the future.

It’s a great game that I hope to see continued. There is some lag when new enemies spawn, especially on the later tiers, and it can get frustrating sometimes when you try move your units to react and the line gets messed up. Then again my 4-5 year old IPad probably doesn’t help either. So I guess my two only real problem that haven’t been said before are that 1. The arrow showing where the enemies are coming from can be a bit buggy? I guess: e.g. one moment the arrow is showing one direction and the next it’s 5-10 degrees offset of where it was. Not game breaking just sorta annoying. Maybe have a mini map somewhere that shows a bit of the surrounding area with where the enemies on it or something. Up to you guys. And 2. There is no way to move the camera and if there is I couldn’t figure it out. It’s just that it’s annoying because if you deploy too far to one side then have to move to the other side you can’t actually see the other side very well. Maybe add a zoom feature or something like that to fix this as making a way to move camera with like a joystick might interfere with deploying troops.Either way great game and I hope to see more from you guys.

Amazing game with potential to be more.

I love phalanxes, and the concept of this game. Super addictive. I also like the bosses and different levels. I also like when the tanks get introduced. The simplicity of the game is amazing. Innovations we need to see...Calvary units- they can charge and create a knock back effect that damages the integrity of the line. Opening up holes for the seeker infantry enemies. This would force players to create shorter formations to have more rows to counter it. (Potentially exposing their flanks)Different bosses. Maybe a boss that spawns units. Or even if the boss is a enemy phalanx. Stronger enemies. Once you figure out the games pattern it becomes really easy. Combining stronger enemy infantry combined with the Calvary could create an entertaining challenge for players that gives the leveling system value. Power ups on the map that you need to run over and get. This could offer fun challenge and add value to the “increased movement speed” trait. More complex innovations...Split formations. (Check our the UI in “tactile wars). This would open up strategy’s and give the enemy the opportunity to launch simultaneous waves. Creating separate production speeds for each unit type. So that players can choose their strengths and prioritize the units they like.

This is so addicting

I just got this game today and for some reason I got really into the game already beat dunes :). I think there should be other units such as a catapult. A siege weapon that is ranged and does splash, but it can’t shoot stuff next to it like 3 feet next to it or something. Another thing I thought was a great idea was a upgrade that shows your units health. To end all of this is another troop ( may not to be able to be in the game but maybe he will) a mercenary a really strong unit compared to others but like any one gets easily bribed. And what I mean by bribed I mean that what ever side has less troops will fight for them for “more glory” if you catch my drift. I just love this game and I hope you keep on working on it.

Great game

This game is fun and addicting, I just got passed level one and I’m already hooked, I love how this game doesn’t use too many ads, however there should be some new units to make this more challenging and fun, for example, I wish that this would have a Calvary unit, that would knock back the defenses, and causing a retreat, and I also think this should add an archer unit (I dunno if this is in the game or not because I’m only on the second level) but if it isn’t, I wish that it was added. And also this could add a pike unit, like someone who can spear the shields out of the way, that would be very challenging and fun, anyways I really love this game, and you don’t know how much I appreciate that there is not an add every three seconds like other games, easy five.

Ads. So many ads.

A single stage of the game has 10 waves. There is an ad after every wave. Then there’s the option to watch an additional ad to get a bonus power up— without which the next wave can be difficult to beat. If you forego the bonus ad and fail the level, what do you know? An opportunity to restart the wave by— you guessed it— watching an ad!I debated whether or not to pay the toll to disable ads but decided not to, the main reason being that this game is fun, but it’s not very well made. The interface is drab, the dialogue is clunky (perhaps poorly translated?), the gameplay itself has almost no variety to it except for the bosses; most waves the enemies just come from alternating directions so you’re stuck just bouncing back and forth. There’s almost no sense of strategy or skill required, just repel each wave and don’t let your units get surrounded. If this was a more polished game with improved gameplay, I’d easily pay $2.99-$3.99 for it so I have something to do between meetings at work. But since it’s not and since I’m sick of 1:30 worth of ads for 2 minutes worth of gameplay, I’m deleting this.

Clearly a cash grab. A pump and dump

The game is nearly unplayable because of the ad structure. This is not how you make an addicting game. They put so many ads in that any sense of “flow” and continuity is constantly broken so the player has no investment in the game. (After every single wave? Seriously?) They require you to watch ads to upgrade further after you’ve upgraded a tree three times, and ads that they force you to watch (during a match) often have extremely difficutl to press buttons. Shaking, unpredictable areas etc. plus the gameplay is so bland, or at least it is bland to the extent that I could stomach playing. I played a half hour (well, to be accurate I spent a half hour in the app, with 10 of those minutes being spent watching ads)Look I understand the need for monetization, but this clearly is not the optimal model for maximum profit long term. The ad format will actively drive away players so the retention and loyalty will be very low. It seems the creators of this game are relying on a profit model of pump and dump rather than anything long term. Low quality all around. It’s sad because the game seemed to have potential but I just can’t play it.
