needs w0rk

ok so ive been on pixilart 4 forEver but this is my first time reviewing the app. love pixilart. community rocks and the desktop website drawing tool is super awesome. the app needs work tho???? it wont let you comment on or post photoes. replying to comments is gliTchy af. it wont let you sort somebodys profile by photos. and dont even get me started on the drawing tool. no paint tool. no size adjuster. no lAyers. they totally could have added all of these but a fourth of the screen is taken up by the words D R A W that do absolutely nothing. i can draw an orange and thats about it. thanks, you guys. i would have given it much less stars but im sure a lot of ppl reviewed poorly bc of getting muted and not being sure why (dont draw pps and youll b fine kids)

A lovely concept, but could do with a few improvements

Drawing on my phone is worlds better than using a mouse. However, the color system makes it very hard to choose colors correctly. I would weep with joy if we could please get a color wheel?? It’s what I’m used to using when I use cool colors for shadows and warm colors for lighting, and without this tool it’s extremely difficult to find the colors I need. To circumvent this problem, I set up some color schemes on my computer and then tried to edit the picture in the app. Unfortunately, it turns out that wasn’t an option. I really like Pixilart, it’s invaluable for sprite making, but if you could give us a color wheel or something similar I’d be forever greatful.Ps: I’d also love to be able to edit the canvas settings myself?!? I can’t quite get the pixels to the size I prefer with the preset ones and it’s frustrating. Thank you!!

Why can’t it be like the computer?

I get how drawing would be hard on phone, but why can’t we reply to comments detector instead of making another separate comment that nobody wants to to see again again when they could just simply reply to a certain comment specifically. Make chatting easier and we would all be happy with this. Oh and when I check notifications, it would sometimes say “no details found” why? I don’t like going on safari a lot to get to the website so if we can’t draw better on this app, can u at least improve everything else? Pls? Thank u for listening.

Mobile is a nice touch. (2nd Review)

It’s been a couple of weeks after using this app, and I like it very much. I don’t have google on my phone, and safari is a pain to use. Although it would make the app better if links were added, along with posting photos and seeing comments via the home screen, it’s way easier to use and drawing can be fun as it forces many artists to focus on every little pixel (besides, that stuff is probably going to be added in the future). One problem I have is that you can’t block/unblock people on the app, and half of my comments are un-accessible probably because of it. Otherwise, this app is very welcoming, containing the same spirit it does on the site. Four stars.

Pretty Dissapointing Compared to the Website

This app alone is fine, you have basic tools, brush, eraser, layers, etc. It’s not anything special/new, but it’s what i expect from a free app. However, compared to the website it’s a pretty poor quality drawing app. A big issue i had was that you can’t size your canvas over 100x100 pixels. On the website, you can go up to 500x500. I also couldn’t find a way to decrease the opacity of a layer without the onion skinning on. I got the app because the website’s saving settings were very odd and sometimes the save button would just disappear, so I would use an alternative method and it would reload the page and delete my drawing. Luckily, I could put my drawing in through screenshots I took of my drawing. This wasn’t an option with the app, but that’s not a big issue because i can always just copy it using alternative methods, but it would be nice if that could be incorporated into the app. Overall, it’s exactly what you expect from a free app, but compared to the website it’s not nearly as good. I do highly recommend the website though, aside from the saving issues.

CREATORS PLS TAKE ME INTO CONSIDERATION

Guys up in H.Q. . I am a very big artist on your app, but I really NEED one thing. Please please PLEASE... make it a thing to import photos from camera roll into your board, in the app. I’m saying, like I want to post something from ibis paint, and it’s in my camera roll, but I can’t do that because there’s no possible way of doing it in the app. So then I have to go online to post it, and it’s a little more time consuming (because my tablet lags like crazy), and I’m pretty sure a lot of others feel the same way. So I’m kindly reaching out, please make it a thing to be able to post photos from your camera roll to your board, in the app. That is all I request, and I know you guys can make it happen. Thank you very much!!!

I'm a veteran user and I love it

I've been on this app for a few years, and I absolutely love it. It is definitely the best website to share your pixel art and discover new users whose styles you love. I could not recommend this more. Also, there are sometimes competitions where you can win amazing prizes! They are sponsored by brands so you know where they get their money (not by selling your info or doing shady stuff). The competitions are free to enter and they are extremely fun :] That's only one small aspect of this amazing app, and I would suggest to at least give this app a shot for a little while and discover all the other amazing features it has in store. :]

I love the app but..

Listen. I love this app so much. As an artist I love pixel art and digital art. This app is so fun to explore other’s art and their pages. I don’t feel that there’s anything to change except for one thing: zooming in.I absolutely hate how when you zoom in it doesn’t stay in one place. I feel like for mobile users like me that there should be an option to be able to use your fingers to zoom in or not. For more detail, when you press the magnify glass to zoom in, it zooms in. But then wherever you tap it zooms over to the spot you tapped. I wish you had freedom to be able to zoom in and move around whenever you desire. Apologies if this didn’t make much sense! Thanks.

You can use it, but I hate it.

Originally 2 star, but now 3. I love the pixilart website, but the drawing on this and the limited palette infuriate me. Only essentials are on this app, which is fine, but it’s hard to get actual line work done. Even zoomed in I can’t draw. When I read bad reviews, I thought it couldn’t be that bad, but it was. I just found out how to draw well but it’s sort of hard to figure out. Not really but still. Still unintuitive. Also don’t know if or how you can copy, paste, rotate, flip, or cut selected parts of the canvas. Seems like there’s a limit to how much you can select. This app is now getting one star. Shading is also limited by a lot because of the limited palette. But the preset works well enough. They tried to streamline this app, but now it’s way more limited and there’s much more of a learning curve, but without the mastery. There’s no eye dropper, which I use constantly on desktop.I think I’ll give this 2 stars, but only because I realized that the way that I draw solves more problems than it causes.Suggestion: on calculator for iOS in landscape mode you gain access to more options. You could do that for this app.P.S: This review is cluttered because I wrote it in increments. The selection tool doesn’t have a size limit but it is confusing at first.

It’s a great idea, but there’s a couple flaws making it difficult to use the app.

I’m really glad they made an app for pixilart (i lost interest in the website before because it was to inconvenient to go to computer every day and draw) but there are some issues with it. first off, canvas sizes. The biggest canvas size you can get in this app is 64 by 64. I understand for a lot of people that might be fine, but I do detailed illustrations, so the limit in canvas size makes it impossible to do so. Second off, colors. It’s so hard to select the desired colors, a color wheel would be greatly appreciated. The last thing is zooming. I can kind of forgive this one because there is a zoom in and out button. But it’s still really difficult to zoom in and out of a specific are of the canvas, and would be better if you could just zoom in and out with two fingers. Besides that the app is a good idea and would be very convenient for on the go if it didn’t have these problems.
