Frustratingly unresponsive controls

This isn't an inherently bad app. I miss the original Tetris app, the new one makes too much noise and there's no way to disable it except muting your device, which is frustrating because I only really play mobile games while listening to podcasts. This one fulfills the need for silence from the game, and I appreciate that. The issue is that the controls for moving the bricks as they fall is not quite up to snuff. The pieces skip entire columns on the board, repeatedly, and when dropped, they tend to slide over a square or two. Since this is a major mechanic of the game, it's more than a little bit frustrating.

Ok but controls need work

The controls need work. They are too touchy. When I try to move the piece over it flips it instead and sometimes when I’m trying to do both at the same time it slams it down and then it’s in the wrong spot and turned the wrong way. Maybe if one side could be to move it and the other side to flip it it would work better. More than anything it needs a different way to bring them to the bottom faster. Slamming it is too fast and I want to be able to use both hands to move things around.Ok I’m too frustrated. I can’t take it. When it slams down it makes me so mad.

Great alternative to Tetris

I love this game since there are no good versions of classic Tetris anywhere. The controls are good, the levels and challenges are fun. The only complaint is there are SO many intrusive ads. Which makes this game unable to play offline and defeats the purpose of Tetris being a calming game. I know the app wants to make money but seriously?

What happened to the original?

Played and loved the prior version. While trying to reset music I tried to get to options. Couldn’t access it no matter where I looked so I uninstalled to reinstall. The original was gone! Can’t find it. All available versions are poor imitations of the SKILLZ Pentix that I could practice on until I was ready to play for money. What happened? Don’t like anything that is there now, paid or free.

Security concern & Ads are over the top

I’m ok with ads for free games, but these are too much. The ads have noise/music and it comes blasting out of the phone at full volume, on speaker, even if you have the volume switch off and sound muted in the game. Once the noise starts, you can then mute each ad individually but you have to re-mute the same ad each time it plays. This game cannot be played quietly in a doctor’s office or on an airplane. The full volume will hurt your ears if you use headphones. Also, the fact that the ads have the ability to ignore hardware settings like a switch is a security concern. What else are they accessing that you have turned off? Game is not good enough for the security risks.

solid

I like it, but it's a bit awkward to play and could use some improvements. personally I find the colors and piece design of this app so ugly that it's almost unbearable. it's also slightly harder to play, too? there's so much going on it can be hard to tell what you're looking at. on a more important level - i feel like the pieces get "stuck" in their spot too soon. These elements combined make it a little too hard for me to play, unfortunately, but it's still a fine game.

For people who don’t know the controls on mobile:

I’m not here to talk about the pros and cons of the game btw. Just here to inform people that to drag the Tetris pieces down quickly on the board, you need to use two fingers to swipe the blocks downwards. Hope this helped people that seemed confused with the controls :^)

Good game but please fix this bug

I love this game. But every time I ACCIDENTALLY tap the advertisement below the main play area, it opens a Safari browser window. Then, when I try to go back to Pentix, it reloads Pentix and I have to start a new game, rather than resuming the game I had in progress. This is very frustrating, especially when it was a long game & I was very close to winning. I tried using the developer website to report the bug. But the link never works. So I never actually get to the website.

Great game Only one issue

I would recommend that they add two things: 1) being able to rotate the pieces both ways instead of having to choose clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. And 2) being able to start the game at different drop speedsOther than that, the game is better than the current Tetris app in my opinion because I prefer the NES version of Tetris. It’s just plain solo competition trying to get your highest score from banging out tetrises. I actually like the 5 block piece version as well, it’s challenging and a great spin on the traditional game. Rotating the pieces both ways would really take this app to the next level but it’s a very well done version of Tetris.

almost perfect

I really like adventure mode. Ive done about a dozen levels and i hope there are a lot more. The new piece shapes are fun to play with and are a new challenge coming from classic. The control scheme is just as good or better than the official tetris app. Not perfect though, I still occasionally screw up a run by accidentally moving or rotating a piece at the last second. My biggest complaint is that there is no ad-free version. I would pay a few bucks to get rid of the ads, but I can’t. Compared to most other games, the ads in this one aren’t as intrusive though, but I still hate having to wait through them.

Description

Reimagination and a remake of the immortal classic. Arrange the falling pieces to fill up and clear the lines. Clear as many lines as possible to advance through levels or complete various objectives.

This game is inspired by the four brick falling blocks games. But instead of easy four brick pieces, where the name Tetra comes from, this game uses five bricks pieces, thus the name Penta. Of course, you are not limited to either set of pieces. Play any combination you would like and consider more fun. Fun question: Do you see the black dots when you are looking at the game title screen? Do you think they are there? Features: - Play an endless game or complete objectives. - Play individual levels or progress through the campaign. - Smooth and customizable controls. - Various difficulty levels. Controls: The controls were designed to make the gameplay smooth and enjoyable. Below are the few highlights that make this game stand out. - Tap with the second finger or swipe down to drop the piece. Of course, you can use the "Drop" buttons too. - Swipe up to stash the piece and use it later in the game. This allows for more strategic play.
