Fun game. Crash issues after purchase

I enjoyed the basic game as a quick way to get some practice and better understand the rules. I recently purchased the Deep pack to have more deep cards, the pass and play feature, and the medium level AI. In the middle of the games with the medium AI, however, the game crashes. When I reopen the app, I am able to resume my game, but the played cards are different (often a tentacled is in place of a played deep card). After continuing, the game crashed again and this time I was unable to play cards after restoring the game. This has happened each time I’ve tried that mode.

Love the Game - App Needs Some TLC

The game is wonderful. I love the board game and was excited for the app. It is just as fun with decent AI options and the images and play are fun . The game crashes for me a lot though. I hate that I can not see the full card for those in y hand without playing it and there is not enough undo features. With how small and hard it is to read and see everything at once. Still fun and worth the money but could use a lot of minor things to make it great.

Great game, a few bugs

I wish there was a report bug option so I didn’t have to do this in a review. Playing the medium AI, some cards like Fast Metabolism crash/freeze the game. Also sometimes have an issue where the app skips straight to discard without letting you choose a deep card. The deep card option is then provided after, but you can’t choose one and only selecting No Deep allows you to continue the game. I have no doubt these bugs will be fixed soon. Super awesome game; love it more than Evolution!

Everything is way too small on iPad Air 2

The game looks nice with gorgeous graphics - if I could see them or at least zoom in on them. I aborted the tutorial because I cannot even see the information on the miniature cards to get a better idea what is what. As it is, the game is absolutely unplayable for me.ETA: Thanks for your reply. But having to touch each card just to find out what kind of type it is... maybe you could figure out a way to make better use of the available real estate. I see a lot of empty space on the screen, so I think there are various possibilities for an optimization. Maybe show the player’s entire hand large with a touch, or better still: make a large display the default and you can tap on the hand to minimize it if necessary.

Great board game, incomplete video game

Oceans shot right up to one of my favorite board games immediately upon release. I had backed the game on Kickstarter, and had been looking forward to the video game that was advertised in the box. Took longer than was advertised, so long I forgot to keep checking and missed it for a while, but that’s to be expected with small studios and was not that big a deal. As an adaptation it recreates the gameplay of the table very swimmingly, not a complete Deep deck, again not too big an issue with how long it takes to program a hundred unique cards into a game, but what knocks a star off is that the game is limited to two of players. When you have four it really feels like you have an actual ecosystem to compete in, with lots of species to interact with. One on one is still absolutely worth playing and a blast, but without at least the option for four players this just feels like it’s not the full Evolution series experience. If the Devs ever add 3+player options (I have the bonus options for my tabletop that allows up to six players! That’s a little past what I’m asking but would be so cool) I would immediately bump this up to a five star rating. Still going to enjoy it till then.

Great adaptation, one issue though

Hello. I have Evolution, Climate, and Oceans. I love these games. I play them with my children and challenge them to see the deeper meaning behind the game. These mobile adaptations are great introductions to the games without having the setup and tear down etc. My single issue with this app is that I purchased the additional features, but cannot get them to show up in the app. I have tried to Restore Purchases, but the loading wheel just spins and freezes the game. I’ve uninstalled as well, but the issue continues. Any advice?

Good game, buggy app

I like the game, I find it a well woven web both enjoyably complex while being smooth and easy play. The mechanics used in the app work well, though there definitely could be an improvement in the explanation of the rules. The developers have made a few choices when writing the app for the various vagaries of play which are not explained or noted in the fairly short rules. At that point I would have rated it a 5 Star happily. But as I was enjoying it I purchased the expansion, for the very reasonable price of a dollar. This gives you a few more cards for greater replay ability, but mostly a level higher AI to play. As the base AI’s are easy enough that you’d have to try to loose after you understand the basic gameplay. The Medium AI however is really unstable. As in at least half the time I try to play the game crashes, generally repeatedly. So it’s the main draw to buy the upgrade, but doesn’t work half the time! And I have a fairly new iPhone, so it shouldn’t be a hardware issue. That’s why I had to downgrade my rating. I hope the app team can get the app working better, and that the company as a whole can continue creating good games like this. So in essence, get this app and try the game. But if you like it go get the physical game instead of trying to play it more on the app by upgrading.

Love The Game But Feels Lonely

Don’t get me wrong the game is great I love the strategy the AI is fun to play with but the game feels a bit lonely I’ve played a lot of Games on the AppStore specially of the board game variety and Let me tell you There are a small handful of really good board game Varieties on the Appstore instead of having a pass and play because not many people are willing to play on one device back and forth I recommend adding a multiplayer like the Monopoly board game on the AppStore already has they have a pass and play and multiplayer to keep the game interesting it’s a great game in my opinion better than monopoly because it has more strategies and Can be played in a number of different ways And I feel adding multiplayer to the game would actually bring a lot more people to the game All I’m saying is Ai can be fun to play with but does not replicate the human feeling playing with an actual person

In-App purchases won’t reinstall

I’m giving this app 1-star until they fix the issues I’m facing. I bought the expansion and was really enjoying the game. I needed to study and uninstalled it. When reinstalling I attempted to restore my purchases. The app hangs in an infinite loop never downloading the expansions. This is after leaving the phone alone for 4+ hours. I like the game overall and would enjoy it if I could access the expansions I purchased. Currently, I’m playing free version on easy AI and with limited deep cards. It gets boring quick. The developer should fix the issue and I’d gladly update the review.

UI needs work, but game is good

I have the physical version and love it. Mobile is the same game, and it plays great. However, the UI could use some improvements. I hate that you have to press and hold on a card to zoom in on it. Trying to read around your finger on a phone screen can be frustrating. The load times are also absurd for what a light on graphics game it is. Other than that, I greatly enjoy and am glad they made this app so I can enjoy oceans on the toilet.
