It works great as a translator but the audio translator needs some work

I think that as a text translator, this app excels is this sense. However, the audio translator can be very annoying to use because it will often translate one sentence or even phrase at a time, rather than waiting for you, or an entire audio clip, to finish completely. Despite this it does translate audio clips very well, I just wish it was better at understanding when I am done speaking.

Bug? Feature?

I use this app probably daily since it’s release since I work with multiple language speakers and need to check things often. Since a few updates ago, the Image Translation function seems to have a bug. Every time I open it, it resets to “Detect Language” even if I already had one selected. Maybe it’s an intentional feature, but if so it’s just annoying and time-consuming to select the language every single time. Having it reset to Detect Language also means it takes more and more time to analyze an image, much more time than it would if my selected language for typing were automatically selected for images like before. Please either A) change the settings to allow me to have it default to Detect Language or my selected languages; or, B) Have it default to whatever language is selected again like it was before. I’d give the app 5 stars if this feature weren’t creating a big hassle for me in literally a daily basis.

upgraded dictionary

can you please upgrade the dictionary on the app? im trying to learn korean and I use this app to tell me what certain things mean but often times it give strange, wrong or not enough translations. for example 일, this can mean work, day or the number 1 but when I type it in it only gives me the definition of “work” also same goes for the word 팔 which can mean either the number 8 or arm. a while ago I was on the app and it actually did give me more definitions for certain words like 일 and 팔 and I was really happy about that but for some reason that’s not there anymore and im wondering why. please upgrade the korean dictionary.

A bit frustrating lately

Been using this app for year or two and it was very reliable and i was glad to use it. But it seems lately it gives out gibberish words and phrases that mean nothing related to the true definition. I’m getting frustrated with it and i am considering going to another app. It has been so disappointing to type in a word that i know is spelt correctly and it can come up with multiple definitions that make no sense. As I type the word it will come up with a phrase and/or word not relevant to what I typed and then it seems I am lucky if the true definition appears on my screen.

Amazing, way better than google for Japanese

I’m trying to learn Japanese, and a lot of phrasing gets messed up in google. The photo text translator is amazingly accurate, and picks up on non standard fonts. Plus it will also show you the hiragana pronunciation for kanji. I only wish there were a way to import your results somehow into a database app like Jisho, since I’m attempting to grasp the nuances of the grammar and remember kanji

Can finally support artists on Ridibooks

Thanks to this app I can finally support my favorite Korean artists on Ridibooks. It isn’t perfect but it does really well most of the time and even when the translations aren’t perfect they are still good enough for me to figure out what is being said. And it has no trouble translating text in bubbles in webtoons. I love this app so much!

A TREMENDOUS HELP

This app keeps getting better and better! I am very satisfied with how helpful it is. Recently they’ve added the romanization of the Korean words which is good if you’re a beginner but once you learn the alphabet it is unnecessary and I wouldn’t suggest relying on it. I can’t think of anything I would do to change it or something that would make it better.I would definitely recommend this to EVERYONE!!!

Great

I wanted to read Korean novels, but didn’t have the skills to do so. Google translate did the job poorly with nonsensical translations. Evolly was better, but still had issues with sentence structure and names. Then, I came across Papago, which could translate sentences fluidly and make it easier to read page by page. I haven’t tried Japanese, but it would be fantastic on a future trip to Japan.

This app doesn’t translate well anymore.

Since the last 2 updates, the app has become unreliable and doesn’t translate words correctly anymore. It inserts words that aren’t there ... Basically gibberish. You can get three or more different translations for the same word or sentence. This app used to be reliable and the translations were spot on, not so much anymore...What happened to the app I used to love? Please go back to the way it was before these last few updates.I don’t want to have to find another more reliable app to use to converse with my Korean friends.

WHAT HAPPENED?!!!

I’m a bit annoyed lately with the app because it doesn’t translate well anymore. I have been using papago for two years to converse with my korean friend. I’m still learning korean so I can tweak a few words that are probably incorrect in translation but lately the app has been inserting words and names that aren’t even being used in the sentence. It would be translating nouns like older sister to a weird name. Instead of translating it 언니 as sister it would say Suji Joo. What da heck? It would be talking about watching a movie when I’m not even mentioning movies.
