great way to make friends
Share video with friends and strangers around. Very different way to make new friends.
Do not try if not Chinese Resident
Per previous reviewers, your account will be flagged and limited. They will perm ban you after a while apparently. Got flagged for fraud because you need to verify your identity via residency 18 digit number and you can only get that if you’re a Chinese resident. Took a lot of google translate to figure this out. Dont way your time.
No customer support
You need to be a chinese citizen or having an identification number to use most of the stuff in the app, like chatting, and following channels. People will message you, and you cannot reply because of it. And when you do able to get the number, for example an alternate number, you also need to be able to pass the face matching system, but that’s unlikely the case. It’s very annoying to deal with that. I would avoid this app at all cost, it’s not worth the time unless you are a Chinese citizen.
No customer service
There is a ZERO customer service or where the users can have a stuff who can help or talk to for ANY questions at all. And the App is really UNFRIENDLY for Out-Country users because they need a “identification number” (which only can be accessed by In-Country users only) for there back-up setting system.
Always update
This app modified frequently, but nothing has changed. You need to update it many times. It seems that it has many bugs. The more bugs show, the more norma less and something wrong inside the app, maybe it could dig your personal data or monitor your life
Help for English Canadian
Hi I’m an oilfield electrician from Canada and just speak English. Help to understand what’s going on, how to do stuff, some translation options would be so awesome! This is one of my favorite apps to see beautiful women from the other side of the world but no idea how to even communicate with them so usually I just say nothing and listen to them an watch their videos without being sure what’s going on. App with racist policies - how is this even possible?
Like other Chinese social apps, momo goes out of their way to keep the app Chinese only. I’ve been cited for a serious violation of their policies. What policy? Being a foreigner and commenting (nicely and innocuously) on a friend’s feed in English. What’s Apple’s stance on this?! They get a cut of the profit
Frauds are everywhere
This app only has fraud users. The so called facial ID verification is unreliable. Any fraud can hijack it and use unreal pictures to pretend somebody else. The report mechanism is ridiculous also. I noticed some accounts are using my pictures and pretending to be me and they got my pictures from Instagram. I put moments and tell everybody nearby, those accounts are unreal. Now, as a real person, I got reported by fraud and my account is locked down. The fraud accounts are pretending to be me now. :)
I see potential on this app, but
I see a lot of features on this app, however, I cannot read Chinese. Is there a way to turn on translation to English. I greatly appreciate it... I regret not taking Chinese school when I was younger, ha!
