Love this calendar!

My only disappointment is that there is no laptop app, but once I figured out that miCal can sync with the default calendar on my MacBook I was so happy! I've been using this app for years and I love it. I loaded the moon calendar not realizing it was in German and couldn't figure out who "Vollmond" was and why we were meeting once a month. Other than that, no issues, no complaints. Highly recommend. 🤓👍

miCal for iOS

I’ve use miCal off and on for some time now. The app is very intuitive and a pleasure to use. I really enjoy the various layouts, especially the one that shows a mini calendar, the current weather, your tasks list and of course your scheduled events on one screen. I can easily add a new task or event without too much effort. Support is good as well. I recently had a question on setting the default layout on an iPad. The developer responded promptly and answered my question. I highly recommend this flexible calendar and task management app.

Awesome

Update 2021 - lost a few things with the recent update and found that there is no way to reach app support there website domain is down - Very disappointed. I am also finding that in the widget section there are random events that are only showing up there and NOWHERE else. It’s very frustrating and APPLE said to contact customer support but they’re nowhere to be found in this app. Update 2019: still an amazing appWill there be an option in the future to take pictures and add them to the notes section when scheduling an event? Would be helpful with birthday parties/invitations etc. Have been a user for over 5 years - can't live without it! Colors are my savior since I'm a nurse, care giver & mother I can keep everything organized.

Goldilocks really likes this!

I’ve tried Apple’s calendar, Informant 5, Fantastical, PocketLife and Calendars 5 and they were either too much, too simple or lacking something that is really needed in a calendar app. miCal is like mama bear’s bed to Goldilocks: Just right. It’s easy to set it up just the way you want it without an overkill of confusing choices. It imported all my existing iOS Calendar and Reminders so I was up an running in no time. I like that I can use any theme: dark, light, or gray with or without colors for the appointments and reminders. The dashboard is a great idea and with free weather.miCal is pleasing to the eye and easy to use. Truly the missing calendar. I wish I’d have found this a long time ago. Kudos to the developer who is a genius to come up with this fine app.

It's (almost) all there.

Think of something you'd like the calendar app to do. Yep, it's there. Except: I’d like to be able to link to an email message to have ready access to details of an event. Can we have that? My favorite (right now) is the month view. I can see NAMES for individual events in this view! Way to exploit the good screen resolution, developers.Amendment: still loving the app. It would be good to have the option, when copying an event, to jump ahead one year or six months.

I’m LIVID!

While in AL, I made several appointments that were to occur in OH. The states are in different time zones. I entered the time of the appointment but the app automatically changed it to an hour later once we were in the state. I missed the first appointment and was baffled as to how that happened but fortunately figured it out BEFORE missing the next two appointments. I then went to settings thinking I needed to change something and found nothing regarding time zones. Ridiculous feature...absolutely RIDICULOUS!!

Monthly view is the best

I use miCal entirely because it has a great monthly view. Most of the alternative apps show you a month with dots under the days that have something to scheduled. This one shows you the actual things you have scheduled! It is great. I love that you can easily set the color of an event, to make some stand out or to show different types of events. It doesn’t search my contacts for locations the way the regular Apple calendar app does (that I can find, anyway), nor does it let me set travel time the same way as the Apple app. But I use it anyway because the display is the best there is. I have been able to move away from a paper pocket calendar because of this app.

Best calendar app I've found

The iPhone calendar just didn't get there for me. I wanted a calendar where I could legibly see my entire month & all aptmts, similar to the monthly pocket calendar I'd used for over 30 years. MiCal not only has a full month view, but several other views to suit your need. The alerts are extremely customizable, where you can put in # of weeks, # of hours, & # of minutes. An aptmt can be copied when you make your next (Dr) aptmt, retaining all info incl the location map. The color each aptmt as it shows on the calendar is also extremely custom-izeable, with likely millions of color choices. So holidays show in 1 color, birthdays in another, Dr aptmts in yet another, etc. Too much to list everything. I've tried a number of other calendars - MiCal is the winner! Full Featured, indeed

This calendar is indeed full featured and allows me to keep track of all my appointments and reminders extremely well. It's not entirely as intuitive as I would like, thus the four stars, but they keep making improvements.ATTENTION DEVELOPERS!I love being able to write or call directly to anyone whose name shows up with a birthday reminder, phone icon included right in the item bar. ***Why not include the same feature for any appointments that show the name of a person or business? THIS would earn an immediate five star upgrade!!!

Best Calendar/To Do app, bar none!

I've loved this author's contacts app, Contaq, for a while, so it was a no-brainer to get miCal. miCal covers all the bases —from natural language input to custom colors for events based on the title (e.g., any event with "party" in it is orange)— and then some. Outstanding interaction and visual design. Intuitive and simple to start out with… and as you use the app more and more, you see how incredibly deep and thoughtful the interaction design is. A DELIGHT to use!!KUDOS to the development team for a stellar calendaring and to-do app!! Two 👍🏼 👍🏼 !!
