If only they all were this good.

I have used this app and subscribed now for over a year. I’ll start with my complaints. First, I wish the app had a web port. I love that this app is so easy to use and I can manage, creat decks and search cards anywhere with ease. I would like it if I could then take this to my computer when I’m home. My second complaint is I wish more tcgs and card apps were like this one. For someone who both collects and plays tcgs most other apps only let you get prices and see what cards do. ManaBox gives you all the tools to collect build decks look up cards and rulings, and even test your decks with a simple simulator. I just wish as someone who plays more than just magic that manabox expanded beyond just the one IP. I look forward to the continued development of this app in the future.

The Best MtG Card Database

The title says it all. This app is hands down the best MtG database I’ve ever used. It’s search feature allows you to apply multiple filters to find the perfect card for you deck. If you’re concerned with pricing you can filter out things above your budget. It’s truly the most useful companion app. It’s deck and collection feature allow you to keep an eye on your deck value as well as card upgrade you’re wanting to invest in. It’s so easy to use the one feature it lacks is the ability to scan cards and input their condition. However it more than makes up for it in its ease of use.

Great, but missing one thing

This is a great app for deck brewing and building, and I only have one complaint: when filtering cards, the Oracle text field only searches your input sequentially, meaning it searches for the EXACT string of text you entered. It does not show results that have those words in it, but in a different order. This is a NECESSITY when trying to find cards that fit a certain theme. Say I want to find creatures that have a combat damage triggered ability. The way the Oracle text field currently works, I can’t, because the text on all those cards would be “whenever [creature card name] deals combat damage, such and such happens”. I need to be able to type in “whenever deals combat damage” or “whenever combat damage” and the search needs to be able to find those words in the Oracle text in any order, not just the same order I typed them into the field. This single drawback is why I still do most of my final builds on tappedout instead of this app, which otherwise I like better than tappedout. Please consider adding this feature in a future update.

The Best MTG App

This is seriously the greatest MtG app I have ever used. I am not one to write reviews, but I feel compelled to share and support the developer(s). Unmatched personality, simple and intuitive UI, selectable price providers, the best card search engine for finding new cards, support for the majority of formats, a random card button... Seriously, the list goes on and on. You can search by artist! If it had a life counter, you would never need another app for any of your MtG needs. That’s not a complaint, just for perspective. This app has been a godsend for deck tech and card spec, and has since earned my respect. There’s no reason not to download it. This is one of the good ones y’all!

Amazing User Interface

I absolutely love the interface and the way cards are displayed in this app. On a mobile device it makes it much easier to swipe through your deck and just tap to get rules or info about that card. It’s super easy to export to text if you need to import a deck to another site for review or purchasing. I like how you can drop some cash to remove ads, and get different themes and support the developer without having to do a full premium account. Wishlist: I wish I didn’t have to do a manual back up on my iPad and then go to my phone and restore from that back up in order to have both devices match. I’m not a programmer or developer so I don’t the difficulty in making something like this happen, but I sometimes forget which device has my most recent iterations and I am hoping that in the future I can just update a deck on one device and it will seamlessly update my other device.

So far so good, some quibbles

Summary: I got this app because a sibling recommended it out of the many various MTG helpers. So far it’s been quite good after a short learning period. Perhaps a more full review will occur after longer use, however this should help with at least poking a deck idea without actually committing cards in my collection to it yet.Danger: The Integration with TCGPlayer and other shops is downright dangerous.Issue: Deck Notes Editor Behaviour: The only real issue I’ve encountered so far is the Deck Notes editor, which doesn’t seem to behave like typical iOS/Mac text inputs when using a keyboard, especially when trying to use command-arrow navigation or even just up/down arrows. This is somewhat saddening because the input seems to be a CommonMark Markdown editor which makes the nerdy part of me (which is all of me, really) extremely happy.Other Thoughts: Text Export/Import: I was somewhat surprised that the text export is just a raw list (deck/sideboard/maybeboard), though I’m not sure what I expected. Maybe a yaml file? The text export might be widely compatible with other deck management things, I don’t know, but I would not be surprised if that were the case. Format compatibility like that does make me happy, though, and is a reason to recommend this app.

One Tiny Fix

I really, really love this app! I can use it casually when I have nothing to do and it does a really good job at displaying cards, keeping your collection in an easily accessible spot, and keeping your decklists nice and tidy. One of my favorite features is the random card feature - it's cool to just see any card at the push of a button. HOWEVER, with that said, there is one tiny issue I have when it comes to navigating menus that frequently pops up when I look at random cards. Tapping the home tab at the bottom doesn't return you to the home page, you have to use the arrow in the top left corner to return all the way back. It's just an inconvenience as I have to move my thumb to an uncomfy spot to navigate the menu or simply go back home - and this is a feature most apps have. I know that is nitpick-y, but if this gets fixed I'd have no issue with it ever. Other than that, 5 stars!

Love this app

I greatly enjoy this app, I’ve been trying to find something like it for awhile to track my MTG decks and make quick adjustments, the one I use to use tended to get bogged down in take forever to load but this one is quick to load and easy to navigate. That being said there is room for improvement and really it’s only one feature I would like to see added and that is a “maybe” list within the deck lists. A separate list within each deck list were you put the cards your considering adding or maybe ones that you tend to swap around. Just a thought.Otherwise keep doing what your doing. Cheers.

Must have for anyone that plays magic often

I never write reviews for apps but I felt compelled to do so for this one. ManaBox is so well made I’m surprised the creators don’t charge for just using it, and Id happily pay a subscription for it. The interface is so well done, adding cards and making decks with this app has nearly become addicting because it’s made so easy with the push of a button. The categorization of cards, monetary value of each card, and a maybeboard are my favorite parts of this app. I have made my last two decks with this app and if you have anything to do with magic or play it regularly, definitely download it.

The Best of Its Kind

I seriously cannot recommend this app enough. The interface is smooth and very easy to navigate, I’ve had no technical issues to speak of while using it, and the free options that are there are just fantastic! The only thing holding me back from upgrading to the Pro option is the fact that it's a subscription (which I understand why it is, but I’d just prefer to pay a one-time fee).Just as a suggestion, I think a good feature to add would be custom Groups (similar to TappedOut), since it would really help out with deckbuilding. Other than that, I have no complaints. A 10/10 app, would (and already have) recommend!
