Great meter

Simple and clean app. Doing what it claims and it’s free. I tried multiple other apps but this one is the best so far

Simplified interface with accurate exposure

The light meter app is perfect for the minimalistic approach. You have excess to the front and rear camera for metering. The app allows you to got from full, 1/2 and 1/3 stop increments. I use the app to grab an exposure reading when shooting with film. Most importantly! The app is ad free.

Simple, works!

I like that I can choose where to focus. A couple other meters I tried, I really wasn’t sure what point it was referencing to get its reading, but with this, I know! What I wish existed was an easier way to access the tutorial after the initial view and perhaps provide a short demo video for beginners.

Love it!

My film camera's light meter suddenly broke so I looked for substitute options in App Store. Most other similar apps are ugly and slow, and I'm really glad that I searched patiently and found Lightmate. The user interface is just gorgeous! No disturbing elements, simply tap to measure. Plus, it's easy to tweak switch full/half/one thirds stop for aperture and shutter speed in Settings app.

Simple, effective, easy to use

This app is great. I downloaded three or four others trying to find a good lightmeter. Most of the others try and make things overly complicated or add some garbage and unnecessary UI. This app is extremely simple, just slide to adjust the settings and tap to get a meter reading. It's a solid, no-frills app that does its intended job and does it well.

Nice interface, needs more features

Originally I thought that this app was giving low readings, but it turns out my digital camera was off! My film shots turned out great when using this app. It has a really nice UI, but could use more features. Perhaps something like spot/weighted metering. Overall really good

Simple and accurate

I am new to film photography, so I was very concerned about making sure my photos were properly exposed. I found this app, and tested it out by taking exposure readings with both the app ans my digital camera. This app is completely accurate to a true exposure reading with an actual light meter, so if you’d rather not carry one of those around all the time, this is it.

Works for estimating long exposures

l went through half s dozen exposure meter apps before finding one that helps estimate shutter speeds for long exposures. It's the only apps that would calculate shutter speeds longer than 1/8 second.

Best lightmeter, has all the essentials

Honestly the best light meter app & really appreciate that it’s free. Would be nice to have a dedicated screenshot button as well as have the circle where you choose what to expose for stay on screen longer or just remain on screen so that you can reference it when you take a screenshot. Also the ability to lock the ISO/Shutter/Aperture so you don’t accidentally bump it would be useful too. Thanks!

Simple, Clean, Accurate

Easily the best meter app available. I use it primarily for 120 film photography, and it’s accurate every time. Would have happily paid for this app!
