It works to measure distances and it can be set to feet and inches
I use older cameras that require zone focusing. This has been an incredible tool to help me nail focus better. Very accurate! Highly recommend. Simple and doesn’t trigger those finicky AR modes most of these measure apps do.Just point and get a reading.
Very accurate!
Needs to come a bit further along in my eyes. It doesn’t look like you can fix two measuring points. What does that mean? Well when you start the app you get a little dot that you tell it to start at. Once you do that you do not get a second anchor point to get an accurate measurements. Basically you get nothing. Not even a crosshair to aim with. your measurement doesn’t hold the second your hand moves.
Please add a setting that allows measurements in the imperial system. Additionally, it would be great to have a “freeze” measurement and/or a log of recent measurements. Currently, if you move the phone after fixing a point, the measurement continues to change. Lastly, a timer would be great. If you want to measure from wall to wall, you need to leave enough room for your finger to tap the button, thus leading to an inaccurate measurement.
Nice technology but it cannot be used. Because you can’t take a measurement with one of the side buttons, you cannot hold the phone against a wall to take a wall to wall measurement. Nor does the software add back in the width of the phone (or your case). So it’s useless. Bummer.
I have to find the amount of liquid contained in bsrrels if hazardous waste. I used to use a tape measure to guess the height of liquid... Not very accurate but cannot use a dip stick due to the nature of the chemicals. This month I remembered the LIDAR in my iPhone and sought an app that would simply measure distance from the phone to the nearest surface. This works great and now I just remove the bung and place my iPhone camera over the hole to read the distance to the top of the liquid. Pretty accurate, tooA coupe of tips:Clear liquids are tricky.Angle the camera toward the center of the drum or it sees the inside wall of the barrel.Doesn't like when the liquid is sloshing about.
Nice concept but large discrepancy between fixed point and live measurements on iPad 12.9 Pro Gen 5. Suspect live measurement is incorrect. Just hold iPad still and toggle fixed point on and off to see difference.
This app is working nicely with iPhone 12 Pro, which supports LiDAR natively. Most LiDAR apps are doing sort of 3D modeling. But I just want a simple and straight forward app that can take the advantage of LiDAR to get the accurate measurement. This is the app I am looking for.
I have been looking for a LiDAR distancing app since I got the 12 Pro....yours is the only one I’m aware of and it works extremely well!! Thank you
Make use of the iPad Pro’s and iPhone 12 LiDAR Scanner to measure accurate distances and approximations with the Measuring App. The App enables you to quickly gauge the distance between you and a specific object or person and allows you to define a specific distance between you and a fixpoint of your choice in order to monitor the approximation. Features: - Measure the distance between you and any object of your choice in your surroundings.
