Must-have app!

This functionality was one of the few things keeping me from using Safari… and this seems to just, work!

I would have paid for this!

I swtiched to Firefox when Apple removed this feature from Safari years ago because I used it for 80% of my work-related browsing (looking up bugs and Jira entries by ID.) It's so good to have it back. Can't thank you enough!

Simple, But Powerful

This clever tool makes browsing with Safari so much more efficient. What a gem!!!Pro Tip: If you have a Mac, install this Safari extension there too. Configuration of new Keyword/URL combinations is a little easier on the Mac. Since they sync via iCloud, all will be available on all of your Apple devices.

Awesome

This is such a great safari extension, really well done. I generally like the integrations with Mac and Safari but the browser plug in's and features are sometimes limiting. I have been looking for a way to do keyword searches for a while now. This is so great. I really like the implementation. Easy to add new sites by just clicking the browser extension icon, entering in the search URL from the site, name, and the shorthand you want to use, and boom. Done.

Does not work reliably

I really like the idea of this extension because it replicates functionality that I depend upon on the desktop. But unfortunately it just not work reliably on iOS and iPadOS. Many times when I go to use it, I’ll enter the command correctly in the address bar and I’ll instead simply get search results from my default search engine. I hope the developer manages to get this extension working because I really want to use it.

AWESOME!

Thank you for building this application. I don't like how apple makes these great products only to limit you on what you can do. I loved this integration with chrome but since I primarily only use Safari now, this allows me to quickly search for terms in other search engines without manually having to change it in preferences each time.

Wonderful!

Love this extension! And it works across Mac, iPhone, and iPad, so create a custom search and it is available anywhere. Been using keywords in Firefox for years, so happy to have this in Safari!

Wonderful

This is such a great extension! It makes searching for what you want so much easier. And it works on both a mac and iOS. I've been using this in Firefox for years, so glad to have this functionality in Safari. Thanks for making!

Superb

I really love keyword search, such a timesaver. Previously I was editing safari's plist to get something similar, but that wasn't convenient, nor was it as easy to actually execute the search as this extension is. Works great with custom sites, and even allows me to replace spaces with %20, leave them in, or subtitute with any other character. Greatest part is how easy this is to use in practice. Type your keyword (can be a single letter), hit space, type search words, hit enter. BOOM it goes right to the results page for whatever site you configured for that keyword. Great job Arne!!

Game changing time saver

I have been using TextExpander snippets for the sites I search often but this is so much less cognitive load. w for wikipedia, boom, done! I've set up a few more on my own, and it does take a bit of sleuthing to figure out the format for the search query for some sites (is it /?s or /?search) but the starter point examples really help. If a site has a search field, just enter something there and then inspect the URL to which you're driven to find the appropriate search string.Fantastic extension!

Description

Keyword Search lets you set up keywords to search the web with any search engine directly from the Safari address bar. Searching Wikipedia for information on simians is as simple as typing “w monkey” in the address bar, “wa 1+2” solves this mathematical conondrum on WolphramAlpha, “down example.com” lets you see if your favorite website is down for everyone or just you. You can also set any search engine to be the default search engine in Safari.

Several search engines are provided out of the box, and you can easily add your own. All your searches and settings sync seamlessly with the Mac version of Keyword Search.
