Love it

This is quickly becoming my favorite synth.Rich sounds, bunches of great sounding presets, easy to create my own patches, intuitive layout, packed with features...I can't believe I went so long without it.Very recommended!

Great Sounds, Still Buggy and Lacking Comprehensive AUv3 Support

I took a risk on this seeing the bugs and crashes others reported. While I haven’t managed crashes, and the sound remains amazing, it’s still missing some basic stuff and has bugs or at least poor behaviors. The poly/mono setting is inaccessible when used as an audio unit (in standalone the setting lives on the keyboard, which is removed in the audio unit), making experimenting in a host app like AUM or Garageband somewhat limited or cumbersome. The current envelopes can cause clicks and pops in some mono and lead patches. They have no setting to behave like classic analog envelopes do and starting the envelope from the level at the time of keyboard press, instead always starting from zero. This might be the behavior of the original Oberheim Polyphonic synths (I don’t own one so IDK), however the implementation results in some mono sounds (including the factory lead preset Discomfortz) to audibly click and pop when you trill them by holding down a note and repeatedly tapping a neighboring note, or in legato playing. Either being able to change envelope retrig behavior or a bug fix for the current implementation to allow this kind of playing (which is clearly intended by the included patches) without inducing such noise would be great.

Run it in Korg’s Gadget2

Just picked this up to see if I could link it into Gadget. The new version of Gadget has a midi out module called Taipei and iSEM connected perfectly. I lost about two hours of sleep having a ball playing this along with my saved and some new pieces. iSEM has some great sounds and the ARP works and sounds great.

Finally purchased

Held off due to reviews (you guys are a very tough crowd!)This thing is awesome. Very different from any other synth app I own and I own a lot of them. The sounds are great and I have to say I really appreciate the history lesson and photos within the manual as well (so cool!)Going with 5 stars right out of the gate. May come back to revise. Keep going Arturia! We need someone to compete in this market. Pretty soon, the iPad will come with a big K on the back instead of an Apple. We need more names in this game, what the hell have you guys been doing for the past 5 years? 3 apps? Very strange to me. Let’s boogie!

a 5 star synth easily

My absolute favorite iPad synth, for many years now. Responsive developer, amazing sounds. Useful for techno, rocks EDM, almost anything you can imagine ever using a synth for.

Really needs pitchbend range and replies from support would be nice....

I would love to give this a better rating but a few things keep that from happening. I find it pretty crazy that you cannot set the pitchbend range in this day and age. I thought I must be missing the setting somewhere. When I sent a message to support about it I got no reply whatsoever but they did send me an advertisement about the matrixbrute. That's really not acceptable. I know that I didn't pay a ton of money for this but you can at least answer a simple question. It's unfortunate because this synth really sounds great. If it had a pitchbend range setting, a responsive support staff and MPE support I'd happily give it five stars. If it just had pitchbend range I'd give it four stars. By the way I would happily pay for an in-app purchase for MPE and pitchbend range.

Almost perfect

This is, and probably will always be, one of my favorite synth apps. For the most part it integrates well with AU host apps, but it has its shortcomings. First, it takes forever to load in GarageBand. Also if you have a MIDI controller mapped to adjust parameters using it as a stand-alone app, the controls won’t respond when using it as an AU, which makes it to where you can’t tweak sounds live using your controller unless you use IAA.

One of the best

This is easily one of my top iOS synths. If you like old-school (Berlin school) style sounds, this delivers. Perfect for rippling sequences and dreamy pads. Interface is clear and it works fine for me with both audiobus and external sequencers. The best thing is that it has its own sound, quite rich and unique, especially noticeable when you have some modulation on it. Some of the patches were a bit too much for my iPad 3, especially when recording, but only some. On a Pro, it runs flawlessly. I judge a synth by how often I end up using it, and this one finds its way into most of my tracks.

No MIDI program change

Great sound. Filter zipper noise and weirdness, not being able to play legato when modulating the filter with aftertouch. When using breath control (cc #02), to modulate the filter, there is no zipper noise and legato works correctly. Without MIDI program change I can’t use it in my live setup.. Please add MIDI program change.

Great synth

It took me a while to really appreciate this synth. It really cuts through the mix so well. The sounds have such character. Filter is great, and performance controls are very useable. Also very stable in Zenbeats.
