Exceeded expectations

Overall the game is well crafted, none of the cards feel useless when combined in the right ways and the game doesn’t bombard you with ads like the many I played before. Good story, very addictive and repeat times through are always fun. It is good to see that there are still apps being made that are meant to be fun for the people playing it and not some quick cash grab. If you like StS this game is very reminiscent of it but still puts its own unique twist to make it stand apart.

Wasn’t ready!

I was NOT ready for the fun I was delving into when I downloaded this. This game has your StS type game mode but also has a Story Adventure for each hero that adds more depth to the game. You have to unlock certain achievements for each hero to unlock the story. Once you finish the story, you unlock other cool things…not going to spoil it…that make for more fun runs later. The story is narrative and choice based! On top of that the talents you get every run are randomized so there is no short of potential here for some really awesome runs. You also get teammates in this game, unlike StS. If you’re a fan of Steamworld Quest and Slay the Spire, then here is your hybrid alien baby waiting for you to pick it up and play with it! You will not be disappointed!

Nice game, bad translation

Mechanically this is a nice deck builder with plenty of depth and content to keep it engaging. The art and polish are impressive and it has enough originality and distinction from other games in the genre to earn a spot on my tablet. But the translation to English is so unwieldy it gets in the way of the experience. The tooltips, card text, and lore references make it hard to know what’s going on, both due to grammar and word choice and also some flat out bizarre associations between one thing and another. For instance the Event nodes always come with some quote from the game world’s historical archives that seems completely out of context with the event it’s supposed to illuminate. I’m sure these references make perfect sense in the developer’s native culture, but that sense is utterly lost in translation. (What are all these “camps”?) This continual weirdness makes a well designed and beautifully produced game feel confusing and disjointed to play. Just one good localization pass could fix this completely if done by someone with the proper linguistic and cultural comprehension. I’d like to see that because this is a really nice game that deserves to succeed.

Please fix this bug

I understand that we need to watch a few ads, but about 40% of the time when I finish the ad, and I’m taken back to the game, there’s a graphics error. The game is no longer full screen, but instead it’s crammed in a small window and unplayable. I must restart my pad to get the game back. When I start again, I’m not given the credit for watching the ad and I have to do it again and hope the same thing doesn’t happen. Frustrating!

10/10

Actually a phenomenal rogue-like game. You feel so broken at the beginning if you understand deckbuilding mechanics but each increase in difficulty is actually tastefully done, makes you work for the next win and find out more combos. In love. Anyone that enjoys deckbuilding / complex mechanic card interactions will feel right at home.

Great game! A must download and try!

I normally do not write reviews. However, I am having a blast with this game. Kudos to the devs. The dlc’s are very reasonable price. I would say if you like this type of game and do not want a bunch of micro-transactions like typical mobile games now days, look no further. The gameplay and art are outstanding. Hope to see more dlc’s in the future!

A Gem on the Mobile Market

First, lets get this out of the way. I think it’s better than Slay the Spire! The cards and strategies are varied and interesting and there is personality and heart put into all the cards and characters. I love just how many interesting combinations there are to find and it’s always such a joy to find infinite-combos and other “broken” strategies. The monetization is one of the best I’ve seen in a game. I don’t ever risk purchasing (somewhat obscure) mobile games so I was glad to be able to play a good slice of the game for free (with some optional ads). Only knowing what I know now I would have happily paid for a game like this. I’ve purchased all 3 expansions/dlc and they are each totally worth it and makes for a complete game (and lets you turn off ads entirely). If there are ever any additions made I would like to see more experimental game modes such as one allowing a pre-constructed deck or one that mixes class cards together and definitely a never-ending game mode would be great too.

Better than slay the spire

I think this is my first review, and I certainly never have felt the need to leave a positive one. But I have played ALL the “StS clones” out there. Only 2 or 3 are even worth mentioning as being as good as StS (Night of the Full Moon, Tavern Brawler, Dawncaster) This exceeds them. Slay the Spire wishes it was as good as this game and the story/mechanics and expansions are too notch for the genre. It feels like an actually complete game but still with room for more DLC. Usually I feel cheated by DLC, like I wasn’t given a whole game. Not so for this. I immediately broke my F2P status to get the DLCs and I don’t regret it at all. Just play the game.

3 stage Ads really degrade the experience.

I’m fine with ads in a free game but these are ridiculous. You have to watch a video then click the tiny next button, then you have to wait out the “interactive” ad and click the tiny next button, then you have to wait out the logo ad and finally you can hit the tiny close button. I’m going to buy the DLC to disable the ads because I do think there’s a good game here. It really makes what seems like a good premium have look very cheap. The same 3 stage ads for garbage mobile games nobody wants over and over.

Fantastic Project!

I absolutely LOVE this game. I’ve been working on developing my own game for my “Energy/MAXED” Co-Manga that I’ve published this year and I was working on a gaming concept for it and this is the style of gameplay I was going for! I hope you guys continue to build this game up because I really do love it, I’d love a “survival mode” that goes on for 100 floors and you eventually get to build a team of 5 throughout and to see how far you can really go!

Description

Legend has it that the old gods were the source of creation. Lord God Strockanos, the god of the universe, created the Mekaa continent out of chaos and formlessness. He poured his own blood into this land, underneath its thick crust of rocks.

The gods of agriculture, destiny and death are all guardians of Mekaa, and the source of arcane magic. Therefore God´s Blood and arcane magic form the essentials of life in this world. Over the years, humans have become the "lords of all things" in Mekaa, from the original ancient clan of the Alrayans, the migrating Elruips, to the Normaasts who were "exiled" to the end of the world. Humanity has developed a variety of civilizations among mountains, on plains, or in the form of nomad tribes. Although there were conflicts between civilizations and different religions over time, the belief in the old gods, mainly Strockanos, has remained dominant. However, the advent of the "new god" Indies introduced to Mekaa a new faith, and a new "era" for the whole continent and human civilization.
