Pretty good wickedly inventive but can come off stale at times

Weird theres only one review, well if you like idle games with a smorgasbord of references odd humor and outlandish feats of daring its the game for you. Spend like 15-20ish minutes a day on it and you’ll progress pretty fast. Ignore the last review you only go slow if you don’t interact with your hero

A veteran gamer

I play all sorts of games, especially text based games and have never found anything so comically divine in my life (pun intended). It has been ages since I was new to this game, but, I can tell you that it’s worth reading up on the commands. The things in this game will make you literally laugh out loud ‘till you are in tears, props to the developers for creating this game.

Everyone should play this

It absolutely does not command your time or try and hook you in any way. There’s only one “in-app purchase” available and it’s something you get for free and don’t need, so it’s completely elective whether or not you choose to spend any money. You can choose to play as little or as much as you want. If you want to play more, there’s a social aspect with guilds (some of which are very active) and a forum. The coolest part is how player-made it is. It’s completely text-based, and all players are allowed to submit new ideas for any possible thing in game to an “ideabox.” Players then vote and later the developers go through and choose the ones they like. The amount of variety is insane—you could go days without seeing a repeat, and the majority is completely fresh every time. Even more than that, there’s a GodWiki, which is basically Godville’s own little Wikipedia. Except it isn’t little, because it houses entries on everything under the sun, and again, almost all of the wiki is player written and reviewed. It’s kind of incredible how nicely the community works together to create new content.

Need more detail about my hero activity

The diary is great but I want to know more about what she is doing. I want to keep track of it and it is fun of what they are doing. Yes, it did show what my hero is doing but it is just temporarily. I want a record of it. Therefore, developers, pls quickly update it for a menu to check what my hero is doing. The diary isn’t very specific. However, the diary is great too.

Love this game...

Lately I've been checking in to see what my heroine is up to, she's over 8 years old, and she's just dead but in a city. Seriously, at least once a day she's at 0 hp I guess just on the ground in a city where she'd normally rest up and heal? Hope something can be done about this, seems weird that she would suddenly become too weak to survive city life when she's been fighting monsters for nearly a decade.

Sorry for the bad review

I didn’t know that you could leave the email address empty, very sorry. Also now I got some ideas, I know there’s an ideabox, but you know people’s things can be rejected. What if we were just able to put monsters in our own game without having to use the ideabox? Basically you can create anything ya see in the ideabox such as monsters, and other things. And another idea I have is to not be limited to your names of your god name or yours hero name. And what if we could make more than one hero? We can switch to see what each hero is doing, and they would be able to find your other hero’s and group up. And also custom towns. Also now it’s telling me to enter a email so I don’t lose anything. Everytime I go onto the diary page. I don’t like that you just shove it into your player’s faces everytime they get onto the diary page.

Skeptical at First

I admit, I was super skeptical about this “game”. The first couple of days I thought it was dumb because there is not a lot of action and control you have, but I kept it going. 3 months later, I check back in at least 3 times a day! It really grow on you, and the Godville Times is a great side part.

Accessibility

Your game is about 75% accessible for the visually impaired using voiceover. I have found some workarounds to make your game a bit more accessible but, it has taken me three years to do so. Looking at the new update for the mini remote using commands and the microphone, some visually impaired persons might not understand what the new function is. I recommend that you do a video using voiceover to show the new function this way everyone can understand. Thank you for giving a crap and taking our ideas seriously.

Description

“Not playing videogames has never been this much fun” - Jim Sterling, GamesRadar (iPhone Game of the Day) "This game has made me laugh more than any other I've played in recent memory" - GamePro (App Store Games of the Week) "Ultimately, GodVille is a fun, funny, incredibly clever little game" - Destructoid Welcome to a self-playing comedy game about gods, heroes, and lack of subordination. Want to be a deity? A hero of yours is totally ready to ignore your wishes.

It's a parody take on MMORPG and levelling. Here you can do literally nothing, while your character progresses on his own, writing a story on the go. Or you could show this mortal your will and control him (unsuccessfully). Either way, it'll be lots of fun. And puns. Lots of them. The game requires persistent internet connection.
