Clean and simple

This email has everything one could need but is not messy. This is not like apps that have it all but you can’t find any of what it has. Meaning that this app is laid out very well. It seems so clean. I do have a small complaint. I cannot leave the application open while I view some of the content I receive but only on my pc it doesn’t effect my mobile app. Oh and there was a one time thing that happened: one of my regular podcasts that is received in the email was blocked with a warning. That is not something I will be supportive about if it becomes a regular event. No one may choose another’s choice for them lest they pay the high price of being dumped, forever.

Works well but needs a few tweaks

I wish there were a way to keep logged in so I don't need to enter the name and password each time I open the app. Even remembering the user name would help.In general, I didn't realize that your account gets suspended if you don't log in at least every six months. A reminder would have helped. I don't use this as my main email, so sometimes I can let time slip. The process to get it reinstated is tricky, as the messages don't tell you exactly why your password no longer works.Otherwise, good app and service.

Buggy email client

Paste malfunctions when pasting from another email client like the default Apple iPad/iPhone Mail app into a new, clean email on GMX Loses formatting. Embedded JPEGs will appear to import on paste but will not be sent. Tables will lose formatting. Text can lose formatting as well.Oddly enough if you send a reply to an email received by GMX, it is possible to paste into that reply successfully without losing formats and tables, but any embedded JPEGs in the COPY will still appear in the paste into GMX but will not get attached and sent when you click on send.Extremely awkward to use if you want to resend an email to someone new that you previously sent out to someone else. You can do this 10x faster using the default Apple iPad Mail app than you can using the GMX client. All you have to do on Apple’s app is click on SEND AGAIN, change the recipient’s email address and send. Cannot do this easily on the GMX mail client, and with paste not working well, it is cumbersome to find a workaround.Tech support is poor. They suggested that I delete the app and re-download and reinstall a fresh copy. That does not fix any of the above problems. Wasted my time doing this. They ought to have suggestions that actually work.

Good, but tons of spam

This app is simple and straightforward. I use it for a lot of professional purposes, and it has never let me down. I really appreciate that, even though it’s free, it has minimal ads. That makes me curious about the premium version, and I might even upgrade to premium after many years of use, just to check it out. However, sadly I must now deal with lots of spam in my regular inbox. This started about 2 years ago, and there is no way to “report” it with one click like other web-based email services. You can only delete or move to the spam folder. Annoying. I wonder whether it’s a tactic to make users upgrade?

GMX App needs an upgrade

I’ve used GMX mail via the web for years and have found it more efficient and user friendly than the more popular gmail, but I downloaded the app for a second email address and the app leave a lot to be desired. There is no option to increase the size of the font which is unbearably small for those of us that are older or have visual impairments. This is changed quite easily on the web version. There are no amenities like color options. It is also very difficult to connect some files to send or save. I’m actually disappointed with it because if you use it for larger mailings or group mailings it has a tendency to crash. I like GMX but I wish they’d work on this app and make it exactly like the web version and there is no reason it shouldn’t be!

Login is the only problem

I love the email but I find difficult to login if I lose my password or forget. The security images are too many of them, clicking and clicking and clicking its very enjoying and makes me want to quit sometimes using your platform. I am not a young person and it’s hard to see some of them. Maybe using a cell number would be a better way to retrieve or confirm my identity to reset the password. Rather than using the imaging system. Many emails is using secondary cell system to retrieve lost password. Sincerely, CZESLAW KNOBBE

Quality Email Replacement

I’ve long since quit using anything related to Google. I refuse to use any of the Microsoft options and I laugh at Yahoo! GMX provides the freedom, “security” and ease of use that an every day type of email should offer. It’s not the most secure option out there that is free, BUT it does offer an end to end encryption that holds its own amongst the competition. A standalone desktop app would be a great improvement for all platforms, instead of the web-based option and the features within the mobile app could be enhanced, but I can submit a review a lot a later date to outline those ideas in detail.

Absolutely Zero customer support

I had a very important email that was sent to my email. I tried to get in and I couldn’t log in. Password was never changed. They said to use recovery email. But I was in a constant loop of being told to contact customer support. They sent only the same link that did not work. I replied that it did not work. They resend same email with the same links which did not work previously. Then I get the exact same useless email yet again and the support person says that is the best they can do. I have had this email for over 15 years and all of a sudden I cannot access it and get zero help or support.

AWFUL ADS SUDDENLY!!!!

YOU RUINED THIS APP I LOVED UNTIL YESTERDAY!!! You never needed these ads now suddenly you do! Put them right in the inbox!!! Sorry!!!!!! POOR CHOICE! Since the ads began appearing you cannot utilize the “move” or “trash” icons. If you try to, the app completely crashes and closes. You’re relegated to “swipe-deleting” your mail even if that’s not what you intend—in order to go to the TRASH folder and hope it’s there. THEN you can use the appropriate icons and move it to the intended folder....What a shame the ads had to suddenly appear yet the customer service and usability of the app are both greatly diminished!!!! I’ve worked in vain with support. They seem to not understand or aren’t reading the feedback I send...!???! Still continue to be frustrated and disappointed! I LOVED THE APP until the ads started about two weeks ago. Have been told it’s so they can “provide superior customer service and support!!!” WOW!!!

They block your account for no reason.

I opened a free acct to try with the intention of upgrading to a paid subscriber to get off of my other email for security and privacy concerns. All went well for about 6 months of testing before moving everything over to GMX then all of the sudden I get a msg on login that my account login was blocked due to irregular activity and to contact support. I contacted support and got an auto reply that I will be contacted by support on my other email acct. Now going on 9 days and no word as to how to unblock and still unable to login. I did a search on “GMX reviews” and see a lot of people complaining about the same thing. To make a long story short I will be looking elsewhere for a private secure email paid account. Going to check out proton and start mail. Something strange going on with this company.
