I’d rate it 5 stars if not for the gems.

I’ve been playing this game for about a month. I love it! However, I agree with most of the other reviewers, that it takes an INSANE amount of gems to advance. For instance, I’m on level 14 of Breakfast Street and to upgrade my table top, it’s 30 gems???? Or to get a guitar in order to increase customer tip amount, it’s 25 gems???? For a guitar? That wouldn’t increase too amount THAT much?!?!? That’s crazy. There ARE ways to get gems, but, frankly, the number of gems given per action is ridiculous. One gem for watching a 30-second video every THREE hours? Seriously? (Maybe if it were every hour.) And two gems from the Party Bus every THREE hours? If I spend $4000 coins???? Wow!!! 🙄 🙄🙄 That should be eight or ten gems. The daily prizes are pretty good, but if there were gems (and not coins) given every day, that would be so much better. It’s very easy to earn enough coins to advance in the game, so why offer them as daily prizes? I don’t need help with coins. However, it’s VERY difficult to earn enough gems...

**edit**Please tell me how not getting my gems is challenging and makes the game fun! Support told me ( after 3 emails to them) to give it 36 hours and then send another support ticket.... yes challenges in games are fun... but 30 gems to update something in a part you paid to open for a discount is not a challenge it’s greedy!! Thanks for the basic response... and almost all reviews say gems are too much!Game is fun but there are a few issues... it is definitely a pay to play game which is fine. But when you offer other incentives then you should follow thru.. if you go to earn free gems there are different ways to earn them... most is signing up for things and getting spammed but hey if it gives you 25-30 gems which is basically what you need every time you upgrade or open a new area then so be it! I did this and of course did not receive my gems so now I’m being spammed and it wasn’t worth it. I spend here and there but this has discouraged me not to even bother. Two emails to support and no response. Hopefully if you spend you do not go thru the same thing because they won’t get back to you! I play a lot of these games and this one is fun but a little drastic with how many gems they require! Also even if you take advantage of buying a new spot.. it’s already high gems to upgrade... so why take that deal if you have to spend tons of money on gems right at the beginning

Love it, but...

Gems are too hard to get. I’m on XP 27 and it takes 8500 XP to get 7 gems.... 7?!?! However, you need gems to upgrade equipment or you can’t pass a a level and you need gems (lots of them: 20, 30, 35 gems) to get to another street. Ridiculous. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t try to make money off people buying gems, but at least make it possible for those of us who refuse to buy gems to play a game. I’m on Oriental street and it will take me 8 gems.... 8! just to upgrade the dumpling maker and there is no way to pass the level without spending those gems... and the tea takes forever.... can’t upgrade the tea maker without 7 gems. I have 80,000 coins because I am replaying levels to get the XP to get the gems, but don’t know if I should spend it on upgrades or save it to open a new level. Really, I’m at the point where I am gonna delete the game and look for another game that isn’t trying to force me to buy gems. The information for this game should say DO NOT PLAY UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BUY GEMS.... I gave it 2 stars because the game is really good, graphics and all, but the lack of care given to keep people playing by providing opportunities to get gems makes this game terrible. Reviews I’ve seen mention a Casino, and I don’t have one... which would be great to have since I have 80,000 coins.

Update:

**This is the second time I’ve had my upgrades just disappear! The first time, I thought it was a fluke so I used gems to get some upgrades back; but it’s happened again since the update and I’m over it. While it’s a problem throughout the game, it doesn’t start to have a significant impact until you’re into higher levels; but it’s really annoying that, when you’re trying to put food on a plate or give customers their food, if you don’t hit it in just the right spot, it doesn’t perform the task. There are I am, trying to go along quickly, and then I realize the bread didn’t make it to the plate, or the customer’s plate is still sitting on the table. Annoying AF! Making sure it gets right in the vicinity of the person should be enough to serve. It shouldn’t need to go directly in their face! I’m not spending real money on a game that makes me work twice as hard even though I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. Sorry.

Love it but.........

I really love this game and I’ve even spent money to purchase gems to advance. I like the carnival bus that rewards gems every two hours for coins. But I don’t understand with the new space station update why I have to get 3 stars on every level to advance. It’s so unfair. When I started this station I had over 200 gems. Now I’m down to about 50 because I have to update in order to get three stars. Now I’m updating the exterior also in order to pass levels. And I’m only on level 11 and having this much trouble. I can only imagine how hard level 30 will be. This should not be I can get 2 stars and almost three. That should be enough to pass like on all the other streets. It should be my choice to try to achieve three stars. Please don’t make any new streets you plan to include so frustrating. I really enjoy this game and would hate to delete it

Love it but definitely room for improvement.

I really like this game and have played it off and on for a couple of years. I agree with many others that the gem requirements are a bit excessive. As an “over achiever” I simply must get 3 stars on every level or I am dissatisfied. I don’t mind spending $5 to $10 bucks every couple of weeks. It’s no different than paying for any other kind of entertainment. But $50 to hundreds is simply out of the question. There should be a way to buy gems with coins or some alternative. Also, what happened to the casino? I see it mentioned in other reviews and on the website but I do not see it in game.The graphics are good and smooth but it is hard to distinguish between the different side items in some of the different venues. My favorite venue is the bbq place. I absolutely hate the ice cream venue. I would really like to know if the casino has been retired or if it is missing from my app.

It was fun in the beginning...

It’s fun and I do like the challenges this game has but as you get more trucks and leveling up, the upgrade prices increase and the prizes we receive from the party truck and level up award stay the same and it’s not enough. Example, I had gotten the sandwich truck, the first upgrade for the bread cost 30 gems and coins of course. (I have a lot of coins from replaying levels but the gems are hard to come by.) I want more events to happen a lot more or even up the prize because I can finish a carnival in two hours and once I get that 30 gems- it’s immediately gone because I gotta upgrade for another truck. Also, there are levels when the timer ends WAY too early, it’s not enough time and it’s even worse when the customers don’t come in till 5-10 seconds AFTER the level begins. I’ve played levels where I’ve had 5 customers left and there is only 25-30 seconds left on the timer.

Can’t get gems

First mistake is you make it harder to get gems. With the recent update you took away the option to get 6 gems from the party bus. Second mistake is you make it so that we have to watch an ad to send out the party bus. I don’t mind watching the ad. My issue is THE ADS DONT WORK!!!!! For two days now I’m not able to watch an ad on the party bus. The button is gray. But I can still watch an ad to get the one gem located at the top right. How???? And actually I should’ve said the first mistake was making everything attainable only with gems. What are the coins for? I have well over a million coins and could have more but I see no use for them so I don’t even waste my time collecting them from my food trucks everyday. Lower the need for gems and add more reasons to use coins. Otherwise is would be one of my favorite games of all time. Look at everything your other users are saying!!! Probably 95% (or higher) of the complaints about this game are about the gems. That’s ridiculous. People have been complaining for over a year still nothing has improved. So that proves that you don’t care about your customers. I really hate to say it but after having this game myself for so long, I’m seriously considering uninstalling. 😭

Game defects (swipe up feature)

This app has some defect that I am not sure that you guys are aware of. The issue that I am experiencing is on the TEX MEX level 9, while trying to reach some of the lower level food items like the Spanish rice or any other food item located towards the bottom/side edge of the phone (in landscape position) it causes you to continuously swipe up into the open/running apps section of the iPhone and causing the game to pause. It is nearly impossible to access these food items without this happening. I have decided not to play this game any longer Bevause I cannot complete this level without pausing the game over and over. Are you guys able to fix this issue? Would it be possible to automatically dis able the swipe up feature when playing the game? Or maybe move the food items to a more acceptable place on the game. I love this game and want to keep playing it. Thanks you

Good App

This app is fun to play and not at all impossible with some patience. You can earn gems every few Hours from the party bus and watching a video. This is a good way to stock pile gems, also you get 7 gems every time you level up. The one thing I would change is that, when you beat every level with 3 stars, I feel like you should get 10-20 gems (there is no way to get 3 stars on every level without spending a TON of gems, it’s nice we can get them free over time but a little heartbreaking to not even be compensated for it in the end) on that note, I think if you go through and fully upgrade the interior of your truck you should be awarded 25 gems, same for the outside of the truck, another 25 gems. There is no incentive for me to go back and earn 3 stars, if I can make it through the section without fully upgrading or getting 3 stars why should I waste gems (unless there is a hefty gem reward for doing so). Just a suggestion. Other than that, the game is fun! I would rate it 5 stars if the incentives for maxing out were better.
