Super handy for my busy lifestyle

I downloaded Flora a year ago when my husband surprised me with a few plants on my birthday! Being new to the plant mom world I certainly didn’t want to fail my new plant babies! Flora was and still is my favorite by far and has everything you could ever want in a plant app. I look forward to waking up in the morning and not having to guess what plant to water, fertilize or repot! With my busy life, it certainly saves me a lot of time. I also love scrolling through the Community Garden and seeing so many other beautiful plants. One feature I find useful is the “Buy this plant for your garden” tab. It brings you right to a seller who is selling that particular plant you are interested in! How cool is that!!! One miner thing that would be awesome to see implemented is the ability to post pictures within a chat thread! I think it would be a fun way to involve users in chats/ discussions without them having to make a separate post just to show off a plant. Overall though I love the concept and how user friendly the app is. Super excited for those Pods as well!

pay to add your own plants??

UPDATE: So customer service has reached out to me and has alleviated the problem. I highly appreciate their desire to help out and make the situation better! I’m fully enjoying the app and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. Thank you so much!ORIGINAL:I love this app so much. It’s everything I could ever want in an app. That being said, I understand that subscription services cost money, but I’m honestly a little upset that I have to pay to add more plants to my garden. I’ve already bought these plants and seeing I have to pay money to list plants I already own is just… I don’t get it. These subscription services aren’t great for me since there are some months where I just don’t have the money for that and I don’t have a need most of the paid features. I’d only be buying it for this one thing and that just feels like a poor financial decision. Sadly I can’t show off most of my plants because of this which is a huge turn off so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to actually use the app. Hopefully one day that’ll be fixed.

Wonderful but not totally free

Amazing app with the coolest things like identifying your plant and all the information you need about its care. They have a reminder for watering and tell you how much to give and everything. They have quests and communities and a lot of fun and neat things to help you take the best care of your plant possible. But they have two versions the free one and the not so free one. The free one is great if you only have one or two plants. But the monthly or yearly membership has got all the great and plant saving information. But even the free version is awesome to use

Used to love this App..

I’ve been using this app for nearly a year and up until recently I loved it. It was such a big help to keep track of my plant watering and to make notes about by plants so I could take better care of them. It helped me keep my very large succulent collection organized, especially with its option to create “rooms”. These were crucial to me. Then after its last update, the “rooms” completely glitched out, replacing all 4 “rooms” I had with duplicates of one of them! 😱 Long story short, despite dreading having to put all these rooms back together again I decided to just do it….only to have the menu for setting up a custom “room” be broken too. I doesn’t let me save the settings (green save button stays dull) so I can’t even make new rooms! I’m so dismayed with this app now. I’d like to see if another update can fix this, but I’m not feeling optimistic. The other aspects about this app I do still like, but not being able to have my plants separated into more manageable lists anymore just ruins it for me.**Update** Developer has very kindly reached out to me to let me know that they are working on fixing the room issue right now and hope to have it fixed really soon. I really appreciate their taking the time to reach out and I’m feeling much more positive about the app again seeing how pro-active they are about fixing issues 👍

Some recommendations!

I love this app already. It’s very useful, and it looks way better than the other apps I had for my plants! A minor thing that would be nice for you to add is being able to research plants on the app to see other people’s experience + how to take care of it, and allowing us to add the date we got the plant/customizable date in our diary entries. Another thing: allowing us to share our plant + click the picture we took of it so it becomes full screen. Love this app, and I hope in the future it can ask us more questions about our plants (ex; how far it’s from the window), so the app is able to better adjust a recommended water schedule itself. :)

Use it every day for over a year

I use this app every day. Over the course of the pandemic, I have acquired a lot of plants. This app has made it very easy for me to monitor my plants needs without reviewing every plant and it’s soil every single day. This app allows me to focus in on a select few that need attention throughout the week, making having a lot of plants more manageable. I’ve been able to reach out to support and make suggestions which has come with positive response and feature upgrades that make the app even better than it was when I downloaded it a year ago. The app is always striving to do better and they add features that new and veteran plant parents both benefit from. I recommend this app to everyone!

Having a few issues.

I have contacted the developer already but just for users until things are addressed or fixed…The water meter is wrong. It kept saying my plant had little water yet I got it to the point where it was basically watery dirt. I knew it was too much but just for testing sake. Apparently that’s a pod issue and not the app. They say they’re rolling out a fix for it. The app won’t allow me to add photos of my plants when I add a new plant to the app. I’ve tried uploading an already taken one and also taking a photo on the spot. No matter what, it won’t work. My pod does seem to update regularly but a lot of times when I’m checking in on it it says it’s disconnected and then tells me to reconnect it. So I’m not sure if that’s an app issue or pod issue. It should just stay connected though.Lastly I’m a bit annoyed that after purchasing 2 pods then there is premium features in the app that I would then have to pay for. I think if I’m purchasing the pods I should get the premium for free. I was under the impression when purchasing the pods and it said there is a free app I assumed I wouldn’t have to pay for anything else. You don’t have to have the premium features to use the app but it would be a nice perk considering I purchased pods and may buy more in the future.There still seem to be a lot of bugs and kinks to work out on this app and the pods themselves.

Great user friendly app for the new and experienced plant parents

I downloaded the Flora app over a year ago. I consider myself an experienced plant parent. But was looking for something to automate reminders to water my plants that were a bit more needy. Even despite my experience I would forget to water them. This app works like a charm. You can take a picture of your plant and the app identifies the plant to provide you with tips for care such as the appropriate watering schedule and humidity and light levels. I found this great to supplement any knowledge I already had about the plant or if I didn’t know much about the plant it was a great starting point. To learn more. You can set a set a watering schedule with reminders. There is also a gamification element to make it fun. I am looking forward to setting up my Flora pods when they arrive as I feel this will take the app to the next level. Overall I would highly recommend this app for anyone who has plants.

Holy wow

This app is everything you could want in a plant app and more!! The team dedicated to building flora is incredible and have put so much time and effort into even the smallest details and it seriously shows. Everything is so simplified and easy to understand even for plants that are difficult to care for. Next to those friendly little reminders to water my plants, the community garden might be my favorite aspect to the app because the only thing better than being a plant mom is having OTHER plant parents to obsess over plants with. Super awesome app, definitely get it!

My favorite houseplant app

I’ve been using the beta app for some time and watching this app change and morph into my now favorite plant app. I’ve had two subscriptions and they didn’t even touch the usefulness of this app. First, you start adding to your garden, then the app will suggest lighting, humidity, watering, and general care. The general catalog and search feature to find plants to add to your garden is easy to navigate and includes a lot of tropical house plants that other apps do not have. As you start caring for your plants using the app - the plant journal function is amazing and you can include photos. Then when you water your plants it shares with the community - where people can like and comment on your plants progress. The overall interface is adorable and I’m looking forward to the plant “monitor” that will be coming. Share with your friends - it’s definitely an awesome plant app for new and experienced plant owners!
