I think it’s great not easy to set up, but worked great after getting past that.

I’ve automated my driveway gate using eWeLink and I’m thrilled. Now, I open the gate from my truck or motorcycle blocks from home. When I get there, it’s open!Four stars instead of five because of lack of feedback. My only request is for the ability to choose a sound on the phone when the button press is successful. If I’m not holding the phone when I click it, I can’t tell that it worked. Clicking again causes the gate to close back up. So I’m never quite sure. Should be easy to program a sound.

More features needed

Generally the app is working fine. I’ve tried it with a simple sonoff POW device. All the features, timers, schedules, scenes operate well, though some times it needs two taps on the on/off button to respond. The main feature that is missing is an inching mode. For example if you want to turn on a device for a given time an then turn it off you can’t do it with one click. You can turn the device on and then click on a pre programed timer to turn it off.It would be nice to have a programed capability to control an on and off session with a one click...Also the scene feature is too simple - only one action is supported, you can’t program on and off actions at different times...

Easy to use works great

The eWeLink app makes setup & configuration of smart devices very easy. I used the app with a Sonoff 4ch Pro. Within 10 minutes out of the box i had the Sonoff 4ch Pro working properly. This time includes installing & registering the eWeLink app, connecting the Sonoff 4ch Pro to wireless, updating the firmware and even adding the skill to Alexa. The eWeLink app is great, you can change the inching (momentary) settings for each switch, including the duration. There are a lot of other settings for the Sonoff 4ch Pro that can be adjusted through the app.*Keep in mind, during initial configuration the eWeLink app will connect the smart device to the wireless network that your mobile device is using. After configuration your mobile device will be able to control the smart device through the eWeLink app from any network.

Anyone that can’t give a 5 star is a

This company rocks! They can turn any home into an automated master luxury home. The price for the components is lower than any other and the quality is top notch.Really anyone that can’t give a 5 star positive review obviously is unqualified to be working with electrical devices. This stuff is fully integrated with Alexa and Google Home, I use eWeLink and Alexa and with just a voice command I can turn on and off most anything that has one of their devices. With a few keystrokes you can automate events like grow lights, watering pumps for your lawn and garden or simply turn lights on and off when your on vacation. Even get warnings on your phone when your away if a door or window is opened.

Unusable

Technically the app does what it says. However this app is so poorly designed that it should be pulled from the App Store by Apple for failure to meet design standards. Stereotypically Chinese in its problems. To name a few - the app display scaling has not been updated to meet Apples design standard since probably 2013 requirements. I use an iPad as a smart home hub and the buttons land on top of each other rendering them useless. Add to that the fact that you cannot log into multiple instances at the same time and it’s a recipe for incompatibility. Also, the select screens lack inertia making it cumbersome to scroll through them - scrolling inertia has been part of iOS design since the beginning in 2007!

Piece of junk

Literally, the worst app I’ve ever installed and used in my life. The lightbulbs are ALWAYS irresponsible and offline. I have to rest the light 2-3 times every single day. No we to contact eWeLink or Sonoff. I’ve installed all light switches, light bulbs and “smart” plugs from Sonoff, which use this horrible app that never worked properly for one straight week without failing. I’ve tried everything from resetting the lightbulb, which is a pain in the behind to do so and if you are very lucky, the light bulb would rest. I on the other hand, have tried everything with these light bulbs and they will never connect to this horrible. I also deleted every single smart device from my router and reprogrammed everything. EWeLink and Sonoff are the only light bulbs that are always irresponsive and I was never able to get them to work even when I changed my entire network and password. Do yourself a favor and buy proper light bulbs and smart devices from somewhere else.

(Updated) Last update broke the app for me

Last update made the app very unreliable for me. I open the app and I see all my devices but when I tap on them they just don’t respond. Force closing the app sometimes gets them to work. I have Siri shortcuts set through ifttt. They work reliably. I also have voice commands through google home mini that work reliably. It’s just the eWeLink app that gives me trouble now. Devices have been fantastic otherwise. Just wish the app was reliable.I figured out the reliability problem for me is related to newer Lan Mode feature. Found the setting to turn it off for each switch and now everything works fine. That’s a shame though. My internet has gone out and left me unable toControl switches remotely. Be great to have this feature working reliably.

Trash

I go to turn on my fireplace because I’m COLD and I find the app has been updated and my account has been deleted (I put in my credentials that I wrote down last time I created an account and it said the user does not exist). Ok so I create my account AGAIN and find that all my devices have been removed. This wouldn’t be a problem if you could instantly pair things with the camera like with HomeKit but with eWeLink you have to hold a button down for a while, then hold the button down for a while again, connect to some Wi-Fi network, wait for 5 minutes while the app does literally nothing, etc, etc, etc. if any other company made a wifi solenoid I would go with them for sure but this was the only one I could find at the time.Pro Tip: set up a raspberry pi with HomeBridge and run eWeLink accessories directly through the Home app so you can circumvent this hot garbage they call an app.

App useless without adequate server support

I bought six Sonoff devices to automate some lights and heaters and such in my home. The devices are inexpensive and, so far, work fine. The app is adequate though they really should get some native English speakers to correct issues in app and documentation that make it unclear. The problem, it seems, is the servers you must use to make the switches work with Google Home, Alexa, and other devices. The company is not putting enough money and effort to upgrade these servers to support the larger customer base that comes with success. They should have anticipated it better. After all, they know how many units they’ve made and sold and can anticipate the increased usage. Finally, their customer service is awful. Messages go unanswered for weeks, if answered at all and their website and Facebook page rarely provide status information. When they do post something, it’s just a message saying they are working on it and upgrading without any details. I’m now researching ways to use the devices and bypass their servers, or any servers outside of my home.

Not impressed

While the basic functions to turn on and off work fine from the phone app, the scheduling feature is sub-par for the Econohome 400 watt wall heater. It is all in hours and minutes. Instructions on how to use these features is basically non-existent. Do you pick the hours and minutes from the time you are programming or are they real times? If the scheduling actually used real times, not hours and minutes , let you select am or pm and choose your time zone it would be ideal. So disappointed, the reason we purchased this unit was due to the ability to schedule the heater to come on and shut off through the app.
