Affordable replacement for 1Password

With their next version, 1Password will require those with local standalone to use their cloud. That’s the final straw... Enter Enpass. It has everything I need and I exported my 1Password and had gone through all of the settings in about 5 minutes. Sweet and easy goodbye and a welcome hello. While I wish the Secure Notes had a bit better use of space (on my Mac there’s a great deal of forced margin to the left of the viewer window) and I wish I could select the app font and size. But it is not a bloated app and I’m happy with that! Security and fairly priced with no forced use of a cloud account = best choice. P.s. Not to say that you cannot choose to securely share your auto synced tomb via your cloud of choice. You can and they support a staggering array of providers. I downloaded Enpass on my mobile device and setup was just my email address and master password! Blissful!

Great app, gets even better!

Huge changes and improvements in recent updates made it really awesome! I've used several password managers and most of them were paid versions and at the top of the chart and this one is absolutely my favorite!A few months ago I sent a review and mentioned the following bugs that I found in the new major update and now, most of them are fixed! Strongly suggested to everyone. A few bugs: (some FIXED!)1. Some changes are not saved! For example, I added some tags and tried several times to save them, but the tags were not saved. (Fixed!)2. Adding custom icons was fantastic, but no way to edit the frame or remove an unwanted custom icon that I added earlier for test. (Fixed!)3. Adding SECTIONs is one of my favorite changes, but the section is only a separator and not linked to section contents. If I move a section or delete it, the section title moves or deleted but it's contents remain untouched. 4. New version adds a lot of empty fields to existing cards and it needs a lot of effort to remove them. (Can't check again, my records already transferred to new version)5. In my iPad with iOS 10.x, the top section goes under the top screen info bar. For example Edit button goes under the battery logo and cannot be touched easily and blending result is ugly. (Fixed!)6. ...Thanks for your great work!

Practically perfect in every way

Yet another newspaper article citing 1Password and Lastpass has inspired me to finally review Enpass. In short, this is a terrific password management system. I say “system” because the mobile apps and desktop apps and browser add-ins work together so seamlessly. Password synchronization across a variety of self-chosen cloud storage providers is a big part of that integration. The multi-vault feature is key for my use case, where i have to maintain my own passwords separately from those I use to manage my elderly parents’ affairs. That allows other trustees to step in when needed, without compromising my own information. The one-time buy-in for Enpass was a big factor in that choice over its subscription-based competitors. (Though I do worry about long-term sustainability with that one-time model.) That said, Enpass’ creators are diligent in their bug fixes, updates, and continuing improvements.

The lack of “hype” is confusing…

This password manager is dope. I’ve used all of em at some point or another (Lastpass, 1Password, and Bitwarden extensively) and Enpass stands toe to toe with all of them. It’s better in a bunch of ways - clean, snappy, and all locked on-device rather than in the cloud (tho that can be enabled). The fact that it’s not on any major tech site’s “best of” lists is really bizarre and makes me wonder how legit those reviews are. Also, nobody really mentioning it on social media/Reddit etc makes me feel like I’m in the Truman Show. Because if you use this password manager for 10 minutes you’ll realize how much easier it is to navigate and how much faster it is since it’s all local processing. One would think that, along with the security implications of the data not leaving your phone would make reviewers go full clickbait with their headlines — but I guess it’s just me? Well anyway, I def recommend it

The Best Password Manager

Simply the best, I have been searching for a password manager for awhile and have come up short so I was overjoyed to find Enpass. Enpass is 10 dollars for mobile flat not monthly (there is a trial version but your limited to how many you can save) which is a steal! Most password managers that do less cost 10 a month! And you really don’t even need the mobile version, the desktop and portable version are the exact same and work excellently and are completely free! I love the features set and the simplicity of the app over all the platforms, my favorite feature by far is that you choose we’re to sync your data so you know no one is tampering with it. I cannot express how much I love this password manger, it’s hard to find software that is reasonably priced (honestly probably under priced since it’s not monthly) and works so well. Simply the best!

One of THE essential apps to have

I’ve been a long user of this app. So long ago, it was back when the pro subscription was only 10 dollars! The app back then was rough on the edges, but it had promise. I was looking for a simple and relatively affordable password manager ever since I realized keeping a dusty notepad of passwords was not exactly a good idea (Back then I had like 50 logins). Having faith in the popularity of password managers, I stuck around with this one, even with talks of 1Password, LastPass and others started to show promise. Fast forward to now, and this app is...unbelievable. I love this app hands down. I use it all the time, personal, work, and just about anything that I need to securely keep. The fact that the company always allowed you to choose where you can store your info as well as avoiding a subscription policy (which now there is one do, BUT the option to go lifetime is STILL a thing) has always made me love this application. The app is not perfect compared to the competitors, (1pass has a nicer editing interface and browser plugin) BUT the things that keep Enpass above them is all of the benefits I mentioned earlier. Those in my opinion, are what really makes Enpass valuable and stand out. And to see them stand strong on those ideas makes me really happy to be a loyal user of their product. Thanks Enpass for the continued support and growth of a phenomenal application!

Top notch and great all around

After password switched to subscription model I was less then thrilled that it seemed as though even if you purchased the software out right you were still limited if you were not using the subscription version. I got on Enpass by chance as everyone else was doing subscription. I’m not against subscription models but I feel as though early investors did not sign up for that and should not be penalized because there is a change in company structure moving forward. In comes Enpass, I purchased it for both iOS and Windows and less than a year after doing so they switch to subscription based model. Here we go again or so I thought, not only did Enpass honor my early adoption purchase but they do not skimp on the features either moving forward. The app is so good even if I were just now finding out about it I would get it even with a subscription because they do not try to pull the covers out from under you when they I open et any change. This goes a long way. I am so glad to use this app and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid password manager that has all the features that the other guys have and more 😀

Found my 1Password replacement

I don’t write reviews but this app deserves one. Longtime user of 1Password before the subscription model. Once that change happens that became the beginning of the end for my continued use. I want to store my vault on my network and not pay a monthly fee. After much searching and trying other solutions I stumbled on Enpass.I downloaded and tried it for about an hour, that’s all I needed to see that this was the replacement I was looking for. I quite easily brought all of my 1pass data over and tested the browser extensions. All worked very cleanly so I went ahead and bought the lifetime license. I’m also happy to see that I can sync with a WebDAV server in my NAS so all of my data can live in house.I have to say thank you to Enpass for not only allowing local storage but also providing a non subscription option. They have won my support and business.

Screwing over the Customer

I bought a lifetime subscription several years ago for $10. I’ve used this app, loved it, and recommend it to many of my peers. I will no longer do that. You have now switched to a subscription service, which is fine, except now my “lifetime pass” seems to have lasted only a few years. One of the main draws of your app was that it stood out in a sea of subscription services. I can, however, purchase another one for $50. I upgraded to pro years ago and now my app says “pro revoked”. Are you kidding me? How insulting! I understand that you need to make money, but I already paid you and now you are going back on your word. You are stealing from me what I already have paid for and should have access to. I don’t think it’s outrageous to assume that the lifetime upgrade I paid for would last, I don’t know, a lifetime. This new era of demanding a customer pay for a product that they have already bought and own is outrageous. I am extremely disappointed. I will not do any further business with a company that clearly cares so little for their customers. I understand that you need to make money, but I would never treat anyone that I do business with the way you have treated me. Goodbye Enpass, hello LastPass. Not a joke. As we speak, I am making the switch. Good riddance, no customer should ever be betrayed by a company like this.

Upgrade your life!

Aside from being a password manager, I love that Enpass has so many pre-built items for you to simply drop your content into (e.g., insurance card, passport, drivers license). I’ve got all my login credentials and important info all in one spot. It feels super secure and the ability to customize everything to your tastes makes this better, in my mind, than 1Password, LastPass — all of ‘em.Regarding price and subscriptions: Enpass costs next to nothing compared to the competition. And, don’t you want to keep continuous development going on something that is securing your sensitive, digital content? If $1/month (i.e., $12/year) is too much or you’re offended by a subscription model, stop it. Real software requires subscriptions for continuous, streamlined development. Paying a lump sum doesn’t make sense and any outfit that’s in it for the long haul will switch to it if they haven’t already. If you don’t agree, you don’t know how software is designed and maintained.
