New update made trading hard

Something’s about the new update are fine, but the one problem is that it has made it hard to post in the feed, send trades, and search in the trading screen. First of all, the buttons are way to small, it’s really hard to press not only the buttons on the trade screen but the buttons on the profile page it clicks everything except what I’m trying to click! Second of all, the new thing where the profile place is shrunk up in the top, there is no reason it is like that in the trade screen there is just extra room at the bottom now. Third of all, when you go in to selecting the cards you want to trade, the whole scree moves up. And there is just to much space to look at the cards, when the buttons could be bigger, not to mention, it took me 15 min to find the search button in the trade screen because it’s so small, it can be small if that’s how you feel is right, but it should at least say the word “search” on the blue button again, to make it easier to find. That’s it. But it does make me limit my time trading and ignore the trading missions because of how hard it’s gotten to find buttons and all that.

love and hate this game

The app itself is a great concept and fun. We were excited to download this after attending the D23 expo in 2019. Some of the collections are very beautiful and it does become an obsession to try and obtain the “rare” cards. When I first attempted trading, fans were helpful and eager to assist others in completing their sets. Now there is a weird mix of players that “sell” cards and add more tradable “value” than the game marked rarity values that have been set.The trading culture of fans is the turn off and if you are a completist you will be spending ALOT of money to fill that OCD. I cannot imagine younger players to be treated fairly by some of the greedy hoarders that dominate the trade feed. Doing the math at what a VIP player would entail for the entire year is 2-3 times of a D23 gold membership for non tangible objects.... yet we Disney fans are suckers for all things Disney and I too will fall victim to keep fueling this addiction 😭😖💸💸💸

Love this app but couple things

Update: It would also be nice to have more locks available and the ability to filter your collection by unlocked cards. It would be nice if on your home screen there was a spot by collection, trade, and list with a link to a small note essentially the size you are able to post in the feed where you can tell others a little about what you are looking for in a trade so when you go to offer a trade you can see the wish list and also a small note like “LF: these characters or card sets and FT: xyz and don’t collect: xyz” etc. Also the update has made things run better buuuut now to claim an award you have to click then scroll and find the set and click and click and click. It would be nice if the set with red dot popped/sorted automatically up to the top until the notice was claimed then back in order.

Bad Experience, Lost Everything

I worked with the app for a couple years or more. I collected many cards and sets. I had even collected all of the newest base sets along with other popular sets and had finally started to collect several jewels to go along with millions in coins. One day the app restarted on me and I was forced to sign in to the app but when I did I lost everything on my account and was restarted with no cards at all and about 57,000 coins. I do not think that it is a good idea to restart my collecting when many of the cards that I really liked and had collected will no longer be available for purchase and will be nearly impossible to collect thru trades especially since I now have nothing of value to work to trade with. This was my favorite card app until this happened and has now become my least favorite app which I will never try to use again since the developers could not even help me get my collection back. This makes no sense to me because I have had to re sign into some of the other card collecting apps and have had no problems getting my accounts back with the collection I once had before. The biggest disappointment and let down of an app I have ever experienced. You can join and enjoy this app if you want to but please realize that you could collect and create a large collection that you enjoy only to one day lose it all in the blink of an eye. To the folks at Disney all I can say is thanks for nothing literally.

App has many hiccups

Even before the update this App is very inconsistent performance wise. Let me first say that I have great WiFi and incredible upload/download speeds. That being said, the App for the most part is extremely slow at different times throughout the day. The Workshop is either great and fast or horrible and slow leaving me to hit craft just to watch the magic circle spin and then have the App freeze up. I’ve had to uninstall/install this App many times. For a company like Disney working with a company like Topps the service should be better! I realize that the platform is huge with many moving parts but these bugs and hiccups need to be worked out. But then again, have you ever used the Disney App while planning a vacation? I go to Disney 2-3 times a year and using their App is the worst part. The Disney App is horrible and had been for at least the last 10 years. It’s never improved. I hope that this platform doesn’t follow that example.

Great app if you like trading cards.

I’m a huge fan of trading cards, for two reasons: 1. The feeling of a good bartering system, and 2. Having sets of cards that look nice. That’s where this app excels! The sets here are really cool, and the award card is often worth it! Usually in the other Topps apps (i.e. Marvel, Star Wars, etc...) you’re only looking for individual cards and/or characters, since collecting all the cards in the individual sets are often not worth your time. But in this Disney Topps app the cards look good enough that they encourage you to collect the sets, not just the characters or individual cards; but the whole set, since the award card is worth it. The only down side is that once the date of an award passes, there is no other way to get that award but through trading, and more often than not, people won’t give up the award card, so you’re stuck. Even if you’re new, you cannot get the award card on your own, Topps should give newcomers a chance to collect old sets.

Cards blown out with brightness

This is an updated review to say this problem still exists. The cards are all blown out and too bright, brighter than they should be, which distorts viewing and sort of ruins the fun of collecting cards ie little pictures. The thumbnails of all the cards look normal and their color and brightness is balanced when viewing them small but when you click to see the card full sized it is overly bright and the colors are washed out by the bright white light. This started in the fall of 2021 after the app changed from the simple light blue background to the dark blue with animations it has now. That is also a negative as cards that are cut out/die-cut now can't be seen very well because they are on a dark background and blend in with it. It would be nice to have the option to have a light or dark neutral background color to best view your collection to your preference. Not everyone likes dark mode. The cards in Disney collect, star wars card trader and marvel collect all have this problem on my phone and on my friends phones which are different brand phones than mine but they have shown me my phone is not the only one with blown out looking cards. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps but it is still a problem even after doing that. Please Topps will you fix this card viewing issue? I used to spend more real money on the apps but if cards look bad because the brightness is too high then it defeats the purpose of having cards

Fun trading card App & community forum

Great digital trading card app that’s well run & has LOTS of fun content for Disney lovers of all ages. There are lots of daily free offerings for kids or those who don’t want to invest cash into the game, as well as higher valued (super rare) cards that can be purchased and awards to earn for the more serious collectors. The great thing is you can always try to trade with another member to get a card you want if you’re not able to “purchase” it. There is new content released daily as well as fun events like watch parties for Disney movies and “playoff” style voting events with free cards and other rewards. The designer also does a great job of appealing to Disney fans of all ages and genres from classic original artwork of the 1st feature films to bright colorful Fab five to NBC to live action films to Disney afternoon shows from the 90’s to The Muppets to Steamboat Willie… if you like Disney, you’ll find something you like. Packs are always listed with odds (ie 1:10) and it can be frustrating when you’ve opened 30 or 40 packs without finding the card you’re looking for, but overall, there are enough free coins and card packs to make up for it. Still lots of fun and beautiful artwork to enjoy without the bulk of a physical card collection that could quickly get out of hand :)

Fun when it works but it costs a lot of money as well

Multiple problems getting the app to work from start. It took a week for a support person to get back and they just gave kindergarten level instructions to fix it. I already got it working 2 days later by then 😡 Continued problems with it working. No instructions on collecting. Users confused constantly. To win awards you have to keep buying coins. When you finally finish a collection you don’t get an award. Does that mean the award period is over? Then why waste time completing the collection. I’ve noticed some people have multiple of the same awards. Then what’s the point to earning an award? If I traded a single after I completed the collection to help someone else out it shows I didn’t complete the collection. ??? Not worth it when you can’t get the app to work and you already paid lots of money for the diamonds. Have to have the diamonds to get the rare cards. But I have been obsessed with it when it does work. I will be missing a lot of daily collection because the app is out for 24 hours 😞

Fun but.... (I’m not the only one)

It’s a great concept and a good start but there are a lot of little issues. I have read many of the reviews on here and almost all day fun but... great until.... could use some work.... good start.... etc. I agree. I enjoy getting news cards, trading is fun, and the art is gorgeous HOWEVER I need to see improvement. It is hard to find which trophies you have earned and collect them. The odds for packs seem arbitrary. I have spent upwards of 120,000 coins on a single pack trying to get any uncommon with 1:3 odds. I want more consistency. The hoarding is fun for those that can but for those of us that didn’t get in at the beginning and don’t want to pay into the game, it’s impossible to get older sold out cards. Some players hoard 10+ copies of a card and ask for insane trades in return or decline altogether. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR IN APP PURCHASES. Every $1 of real money you spend is 10 VIP points in the game. There are tiers that offer special cards and bonuses for a certain amount of points but THOSE POINTS ARE NOT TRACKED IN GAME OR WITH DEVELOPERS. I did a service ticket to ask what tier I am at because I thought I should be gold instead of silver but was told they don’t keep record of my purchases or VIP points so they can’t help me.
