Back to the good ol’days!

I have been playing Cut the Rope games since the first one released, and have been enjoying them! As of the original trilogy, I haven’t been enjoying the newer ones, they’ve been getting on my nerves. I kept wishing for all of us Cut the Rope fans that there would be a remake, since it was the series’s 10th anniversary. And that’s what we got! Finally, back to the good ol’days! The games graphics are really amazing, with a touch of challenge the gameplay can be enjoyable for ALL AGES! Thank you Zeptolab for making this choice!

Great game if you want some nostalgia

This remaster really brings back memories of the old cut the rope games but from what it seems you have made a chapter dedicated to each game in the cut the rope series maybe you could make a few new chapters like a chapter with some sort of combination of the previous chapters (I suggest that to be the LAST chapter) and you need to add levels where the super nom power up comes back, but of course with its own character as well, and maybe a chapter with multiple om-noms and multiple candies maybe a sort of mechanic that multiplies om-nom/mini nom and an equal number of candies to the number of om-noms/mini noms but these are just suggestions and maybe you could do a sort of daily reward to get magnets because om-nom is the main character and his power up is the magnet and maybe you could make a few om-nom levels easier to get the blue star because some of the blue stars for om-nom are hard to get (the mini nom blue stars a REALLY EASY all you have to do is wait with his blue star) but again these are just SUGGESTIONS you don’t have to do these but maybe you could improve on these

Great except for power ups

Really enjoyed the game, there where 5 chapters each with ~25 levels. Then 3 bonus cards each with 9 levels. However there are bonus levels playable only by using power ups and getting the power up stars. The only problem is it takes too long to get the power ups, so I am just kinda waiting for weekly challenges, because they are the largest source for them.I would have enjoyed either the getting the star gives power up, so that if your good you don’t go through power ups. Or unlimited power ups once the game is completed otherwise.

Beautiful.

Cut the Rope’s transition to 3D was executed beautifully here. Everything from the UI, characters, and maps. The game looks extremely polished and I haven’t encountered any bugs so far. It’s the fun game you remember from your childhood, but brought back blissfully with no ads or in-app purchases. You can even have multiple save files which makes replaying the game a lot more easier and inviting. The music is phenomenal as well. The remixed Cut the Rope theme hits in all the right ways. This is a MUST HAVE for all Apple Arcade subscribers and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for future updates.

Remade, not remastered

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great cut the rope game, but it’s also very different from its predecessors. Out of the 17 chapters in the first game, only 2 of them got adapted. It’s great to see the franchise with such a high level of polish, but there’s just not enough of the originals here to call this a remaster! It’s more like a highlight reel of the franchise’s past, with some new things thrown in for spice. Another thing that’s been bugging me is the lack of “boxes”. In the originals, each box would introduce a new mechanic that would act as the core of each chapter. Here, everything’s just tossed together. The storybook maps are a nice alternative, and I love how interactive they are, but the lack of cohesion is disappointing. I was hoping that this remaster would be more faithful to the original game. That being said, I’ve gotta comment on how good the Nibble-Nom levels are. Those could be their own game in my opinion, they’re all so clever! As for the Om Nelle levels, I can’t say that they overstayed their welcome, but that’s because there were only a few of them.Overall a pretty good remake, but not a replacement for the original game. It just makes me wish that the original wasn’t completely busted on modern phones (especially the space box!).

Lost its Charm

Just because a game is being remastered does not mean that you have to choose an entirely new graphical style. The change to 3D really cheapens the look of Cut the Rope, making it look crude and what I would expect of a knock off or poorly made freemium game. In terms of gameplay, the most annoying part is getting the blue stars which requires you to endlessly tap on the map to hopefully get a power up, which feels like they originally intended to put them behind an ad wall but were denied that by Apple so they just rushed them into the first idea that popped into their head. This game would have been better if you could just download the level packs that you wanted, keeping the original style and spirit of the previous games.

Great Game, One Complaint

This is an entertaining game with great level design! I love the concept of looking through each book for power ups. However, I’ve noticed that the magnet power up is needed significantly more often than the other two, which is not represented in the actual collection process. I am constantly running out of magnet power ups. Meanwhile, I am completely maxed out of the other two at 99 each. I think this could be adjusted by providing the magnet power up at a higher rate, because I am completely finished with the game aside from the blue stars which require the magnet power up to obtain. I find that I only get about 1-4 every time I go through the books, which is not enough considering the fact that some post cards use only magnet power ups in the levels.

Lots of fun except...

This is the Cut the Rope that we all know and love, and in that sense it’s great. The only frustrating thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that you need magnets to get blue stars, and the only way to get magnets is to farm them by repeatedly tapping on parts of the map. This is incredibly tedious and takes a lot of fun out of the quest for blue stars. Once you get all the yellow stars, you should earn a permanent magnet because there’s no reason to force players to keep doing something so mindless just to be able to play a level.

Amazing, but could be so much MORE!

For the first three books, I thought that it was a good remaster, but wasn’t really amazing. However the fourth and fifth books were great! The new blue block mechanic and the transforming mechanic were really interesting. However, when I finished, I felt unsatisfied. The last two books were amazing and I wished there were more. They Added Om Nelle levels but they seemed like it should have been another book because the level design doesn't fit with character. I hope in the future the add more books with new mechanics to explore.

Man, this is good

Want a cut the rope game that has no adds and In-app purchases and is a remaster of 5 previous games, then this is exactly that. First off: the looks, the new cut the rope games that did do 3D looked not the best, but the transition from 2D to 3D was Amazing in this remaster. Secondly: Boxes to Books, the first game took place in boxes, the other games had other things that I don’t have time to say, but now they are books like in magic, but it’s 5 different books instead of one big book, and each page has a secret world star hidden to go to one of the levels Thirdly: The new levels, while non of the normal levels are replaced, there is a new kind of levels featuring nibble nom, you need to feed nibble nom 3 candies instead of 1, this is really cool if you are trying to get all the star in nibble nom levels without using the power up Fourthly: replayibilaty, do you want to restart from the beginning of a cut the rope game a lot easier, while this game does that exact thing, you can have up to 6 save files, that is very crazy. I could go on and on about why this game is super good, but this review is long enough.
