Great App

The app is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for: something to motivate me to complete my daily tasks. Similar apps are either too complicated or don’t update with new content, so I’m happy to see how excited the de eclipses are about this. The developers answer questions quickly, and they respond to feedback.The major thing I wanted was to have weekly/monthly/yearly tasks, but I can be patient while they continue to improve the app. =]

Beautifully simple

I truly enjoy the simplicity behind the app, which (unfortunately) appears to be the chief complaint from others. This has a simple, sleek UI that, if you’re like me, can be a breath of fresh air compared to rival “habit” apps—which feel cluttered. My only real complaint is the lack of updates. Some new features would be nice. Additionally, some quality of life improvements on some not-so-perfect user interface issues. If the devs come back from their 2 year hiatus, I will absolutely remain subscribed for the foreseeable future!

An excellent, simple—if basic—productivity booster!

There are quite a few gamified to-do lists on the App Store, and I’ve tried many of them—so far, Bounty Tasker is my favorite.Pros:—straightforward without sacrificing both critical to-do list features (repeating task schedules, reminder notifications, etc.) —Fun game elements (equipment, monsters, exp., etc.)—Monsters in particular are integrated in a really cool way and encourage “bursts” of activity to clear out old tasks—very clever!Cons:—Keep in mind this app is still in development, so there are a few notable but manageable bugs (in particular, the game seems to seems to forget whether or not you have an Elite account, but it’s quickly fixed by restoring purchase.)—Long-term, there are some gameplay elements I’d really like to see (no character classes at the moment, gear doesn’t change your character’s appearance) but they don’t impact the core functionality at all. —Additionally, bear in mind there’s no community functionality at the moment, so you can’t work with friends on growth. Personally, I actually like this, but YMMV.All told, this is now my primary to-do list app! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, incentivized version of a task program. :)

Almost perfect

I really like the idea of these habit apps that give you a REASON to play. This app acts more like a to-do list tracker than a habit tracker. I think adding a bad-habit tracker would be great! Trying to quit smoking or quit drinking Starbucks for example. As you smoke a cigarette, you mark it in the app and it does some damage to your character. I understand that there’s some issues with people lying, but I feel as though they’re really only harming themselves. Also character creation would be great! Different skin tones and hair color would be really effective in making me feel like my character is actually a representation of me. It would also give me a subconscious reason to do better for myself. Guessing that with the armor and the moving sprites it would be hard, but maybe 5 skin tones and 6 hair colors or something? Something basic like that. Regardless, I think this app is on the right track and I’m willing to give it a month long try.

Great base so far!

Giving four stars as game is still seeing improvement and production. Will update to reflect progress. This is a great productivity tool with dailies that repeat and a very nice to do list. Character upgrades and progresses as you level up! Word to developer though, what would be great to see is a class system,(warriors thieves wizards) along with complementary spells or skills a character could use to help defeat baddies or buff yourself against damage. I also really like the idea of there being some things to really strive for, such as mini bosses as bad guys that take a lot of work to fight, and maybe some end game content(big bosses and epic weapons you have to quest for) or something of the sort. This certainly isn’t my game but I see so much potential and I will be following this app very closely. Thank you developers keep the updates coming and thank you for reading my review.Shawn

Bare bones in good and bad ways

I absolutely love this app. I’ve tried other ways of gamifying my tasks but this is the easiest to keep up with and use. It’s intuitive to dive right in, the drag and drop features to organize are great, and the focus on to-do versus habits is exactly what I need. I do wish there were more options for characters. I know character customization is a long process so I know that’s a big ask but it’d be nice to see more variety in the skin color, body type, etc. for the characters at each level. I also feel like the subscription for the elite level is pretty steep for what’s offered. I’d like to financially support the app but $50/year is a lot for what you get.

Great App

I love what this app does. Sadly, this cannot become my main productivity app, as it lacks features that Finch and TickTick have. But I’d say this is pretty good! The only downside is that a lot of things are locked behind a premium service. And this app has clearly gone unloved by its developers as it’s been 5 years without an update. If some cosmetic changes are added, or the ability to change the look of your character instead of selecting presets, or the ability to equip the gear you have, or more things to do/more rewards were added then I think this would be a great app. I’d probably drop my other two productivity apps!But since this app has obviously been forgotten by its developers, and because it has little charm and functionality, this app gets a 3/5 stars.

Nothing that Habitica doesn't have

I've been using this for the past month thinking it was Habitica, and thought I was losing my mind because I remember Habitica having a lot of features and this having really nothing that gives it any purpose. Sometimes you level up, sometimes a monster will appear that will sit there doing nothing until it dies and doesn't alter the game in any way, and very rarely the game will give you another of the same piece of equipment that you already have five of. (At level 12 I have four of basically just wooden clubs, yet half of my equipment slots are empty). I was being particularly careless when I downloaded it and thought nothing of it until I realized just how devoid of content the app was. But just in case it's not just me: If you're looking for that To-do list rpg you can't quite remember the name of, it's Habitica, not this one.

Needs work but good idea

Would give it a 3.5 Because the idea they have is good but the execution of it can improve. Should have a 1 month free trial for Elite so people can see what they actually are getting before purchasing. The other review is right you should be able to add negative habits to the game. Additionally you should have the ability to put time limits on certain tasks. If not completed at the time you put you take damage! Hp should level up as you level up. You should be able to choose to fight as many monsters as you want. You should have competitions where 2 people of the same level have a challenge against each other to see who can get more tasks completed. The general idea of this app is really good and am looking forward to seeing what y’all do with this in the future.

Widget?

I truly love this app and hope I’ll find it useful in the coming days (only just downloaded it). I would love it if the devs made a widget option for it though! Being able to swipe to my phone’s widget screen and see my remaining quests for the day/week/month would be additionally motivating, I think. Also, a note to potential downloaders: to activate reminders and make use of a few other things in the app, you have to buy a subscription. It’s cheap, but still a factor. The app is usable without the subscription, but less helpful.
