Support indie publishers!

I wish more people would read the blog on Supergiant's website explaining why the original app is being delisted. It explains everything. Am I a bit annoyed that I have to pay twice to keep the game, since I’ve switched devices since buying it the first time and I missed the 10th anniversary boat? Of course I am. But it’s not the publisher's fault. It’s an unfortunate reality of the world of business relationships, contractual obligations, and legal standing in technical distribution channels. It’s not a bait-and-switch like other commenters suggest.Frankly I can’t be too upset: I’m happy to think more of my money goes to the people who actually made the game this time around. Bastion, all these years later, is still an incredible game. And, Supergiant's products are more than just games. They’re works of art. Supergiant's art deserves support. It has mine.

Way to good

Who gave y’all permission to create such an amazing game?? It’s better then I could imagine, the music, the voice acting, the action…. I know this is an old game but I thought hades was great and now I see where the amazing things about that gave originated from! I’ve seen people talk about this game and review it but there really nothing you can say to justify it. If your on the fence, download it, tell everyone in the house to leave you alone for a hour or 2, grab some good headphones and let the game show you what made me write this review… that’s all I can say

Can’t menu with controller

I love this game; and this port is fantastic. However, you cannot menu with the controller like you can in Transistor, nor can you alter controls in-game. Moreover, if you play with a controller the on-screen controls stay visible. Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.Bastion is a treat for the senses. Everyone should have this game on some device. But I’m really hoping they improve controller support. Oh, and vibration only functions on the phone. I’ve heard developers can change that; but I haven’t played a single game that proves this.

Shady Business Ethic, Gotta Buy 2X To Play?

I’m leaving a one star review because I bought this game at full price on the App Store several years ago. Played it from start to finish and absolutely loved it. I decided to download the game again and replay it since I have so much free time due to COVID-19. Apparently my purchase a while back just wasn’t enough because the full game is now an in game micro-transaction. I have to buy this game again to replay it? I think not. These guys make wonderful games, but that’s a shady business ethic that’s becoming more and more common from sellers and developers on the App Store. If I buy something once, it should be mine forever. The guys that did Binding of Isaac let me pay $15 for the game and then pulled it from the App Store. Supergiant is doing this crap.Several other apps that I paid for way back in the day are now subscription applications and my $20 here and there doesn’t actually BUY anything. It’s a frustrating truth about developers and distributors and I’m disappointed to see one of my favorite game houses pulling the same stunts. With that said, I’m fed up with it. Either give me my money back for my original purchase or unlock the game that I paid for back then. Great game. Horrible business ethic.

What can I say?

I don’t possess the words to properly describe how good this game is. I played it when it was new back in 2011 and loved it then. Found it in iOS while I was bored with no wifi, and playing through it again I am just as blown away with it as I was the . The best part about this is having it on mobile allows it to be played by people who may not come across it normally. It plays just as good on mobile as it did on Xbox back then. Maybe better since screens on phone blow away TVs of the day. Everything: gameplay, sound design, music, dialogue. I can’t recommend this, and other SuperGiant Games enough. They are just amazing.

Beautiful

This is just an incredible game. An experience you won’t forget. I first watched my younger brother play this on his pc from start to finish almost 10 yrs ago. I was so taken with the story and the soundtrack that I remember downloading Zia’s song and playing it on repeat. My brother unfortunately is no longer with us, may he Rest In Peace, but this game is a solid beautiful memory we shared. Now that I randomly thought about this game again and found the app, I’ve played and already beat the game in a couple of days. It’s challenging, and has ways to increase the difficulty, but still so fun that right after I finished, I ran back in to went play it all over again on the “new game plus” version. For me, this game isn’t just beautifully drawn, wonderfully narrated, and fun from beginning to end. I feel emotionally connected to this game after almost a decade of seeing it played for the first time. Bastion forever has my love and respect. To the developers that worked tirelessly to bring this art to us, thank you. You’ve truly created something special, but I’m sure you know that but now. Play the game. You won’t regret it.

THE RPG for Non-RPG gamers.

I am NOT a gamer. I play puzzle games & room escapes... point & clicks when I can find ‘em. RPG’s, platformers, and really anything that takes any sort of timing, learning “moves”, a trackpad, or boss battles is an Auto-Nope from me. Bastion is different. Yes there are all the elements that usually mean I’ll stink at the game and get frustrated. But Bastion eases you into its world, and the UTTERLY OUTSTANDING music carries you along, and next thing you know, you are engrossed in the story of The Kid. I played with infinite lives at first, got near the end, and restarted the game on regular difficulty. And I’m so glad I did. I don’t want the game to end, but also restarting allowed me to explore more territory that I wasn’t aware was there during my first run. I’d recommend this game to everyone. Even the non-RPG gamers like me. It’s perfect. There are enough options that give it a puzzle-like experience, and the story and that astounding soundtrack will hook point and click fans. In my opinion games do not get much better.

DO NOT PASS ON THIS GAME

This is honestly one of the best games of all time. The gameplay is great and you can basically set your own challenges as you progress through the story. There is an assortment of weapons to use as well as customizations to them to further suit your gameplay style. The world is beautiful and engaging as it literally builds around you. BUTIn my opinion, what makes this game so engaging is the very well voiced narration as it guides you through the game and story. Even more engrossing is the music by Darren Korb. I can not say enough to this man’s contribution to video game music. There are a few songs in game with sung lyrics by both Korb and vocalist Ashley Barrett. While Barrett’s voice is hauntingly beautiful in Bastion, I also want to strongly recommend you check out Supergiant’s game “Transistor” where she shines through the game’s soundtrack, amazingly written and produced by Korb. Honestly, any game by Supergiant Games is a literal journey into a fantastical world and has none have ever disappointed me. If Bastion is your first experience by this developer, you’re in for a wild ride!

Just started but pretty awesome game so far

So far I really like this game. Best part is none of the crap free games do with trying to get you to put up $10, $25, $50!!!! just to be able to advance at a reasonable pace. Try it out for a little while for free then decide if you want to pay which you will of course and they know it because it’s awesome!!!!!As far as the game goes good story line so far. Makes you really want to keep playing to find out what happened and how many more people are out there. Game play is pretty easy you don’t have to worry about getting killed constantly unlike games like last day on earth which I liked for a while until it became impossible to get to where you needed to go without spending money and or buying weapons. This game you can play as long as you want with none of that waiting 20 min for a charge to appear. So many games could be great if they would just offer a paid ver.Other aspects I like. This may seem odd but the sound track is really cool. It reminds me exactly of the firefly tv show. Still one of the greatest shows ever made! The way each land area forms as you go is pretty neat graphically and the of course the narration of the story is perfect. Lots of funny little jokes added in if you decide to stupidly run off the side and die or go hack and slash on the fence posts.Definitely worth a try.

One of The G.O.A.T

This game is a classic. It’s one my favorites from the Xbox 360 days (Xbox Love Arcade) and one of my favorite mobile game’s It looks and sounds as beautiful as the console version The touch controls take some getting used to but they work really well A controller works better but needs a little more refinement The controller won’t work on menus It’d be nice to re-map the buttons Also I would like for touch screen buttons to be removed from the screen while using controller but none of these issues are game breaking The controller works well for gameplay Also I would like to SuperGiant on how handled their business of offering the game free so that owners of previous version wouldn’t feel screwed over Get this game You won’t be disappointed Also pick Transistor Another incredible premium experience
