User Reviews for Autism iHelp–Language Concepts

What is wrong with you?

The fact that you use an image of four young girls with the question "Who does not belong?" is horrific. This is a clear statement that you do not understand child psychology or the needs of autistic users. Most autistic children struggle with social isolation, social ridicule, and understanding their on inclusion in social contexts. Incorporating the feedback of psychologists and the autistic community would have prevented a horror like this. As it stands, your app is dangerous and damaging. Anyone considering downloading it in its current form is advised to stay away.

Why not update

I use the ihelp apps in speech therapy a lot, but they have not been updated to work with iOS 11. Why would I buy more if the apps are not going to be kept current?

This App Discriminates against special needs children!

Why do you have 3 blonde girls and one brunette girl with Down syndrome above the question: "Who does not belong?" Why do you think it's ok to discriminate against any child and say they "don't belong". This seriously needs to be revised. So upsetting! Deleting all your other Apps from our devices. You are so wrong for this...

Special needs children don't belong

This app has a picture of 3 blond typical developing girls and the one with Down syndrome or looks like special needs and asks who does not belong .. You need a better image for that question! I don't want my students thinking special needs don't belong

Excellent therapy tool

This app is great for speech therapy on the go. This is wonderful for my kiddos that are working on different levels of categorization. I love the bright but simple pics and the data tracking options.

Description

Autism iHelp is a vocabulary teaching aid developed by parents of a child with Autism and a speech-language pathologist. Autism iHelp was inspired by the need for specific language intervention tools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder focusing on their unique strengths and difficulty with expressive vocabulary. Autism iHelp Language Concepts targets fundamental vocabulary building concepts in a variety of formats.

While utilizing real-life photographs, this app requires the learner to demonstrate more than just basic understanding of targeted vocabulary during manipulation activities involving categorization, and sorting skills. Additionally, you are able to track your child's gains through progress reports that average the last 3 performances of each learning enhancement activity. “with Autism iHelp…..it gets better.”
