No Go

I wouldn’t advise getting this app to anyone as there a myriad of others that offer the same tools and much easier to maneuver. If you’re simply using to track steps, your phone does this for you already (iPhone users). If you’re using it to track meals, calories, etcetera then it’s okay except for the fact that there A LOT of foods not in their “bank” so you have to add yourself. Again, most other apps don’t have this issue. I purchased the “premium” and discovered that doesn’t even offer what’s advertised. Couple that with good luck trying to get a hold of anyone with questions or confirmation as all roads lead nowhere. The app itself doesn’t provide a customer service link so I looked on the App Store. This provided the developers site and I did find a “contact us” link. When I completed typing my email and went to send I repeatedly got a “failure” notification. From there I used FB Messenger of which I’m still waiting for a reply. Reasons for contacting is I don’t want my subscription to auto renew (research this before purchasing as it’s misleading). If need be I’ll change my ITunes payment options but seems like too much effort for such a simple request. In summary, it may be tedious, but research an app before using and again, no I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Great, Free, Visual Health Tracker

I’ve been using this app for about five years now and it’s awesome. It helps me to easily track weight gains and also physical activity. I love the fact that I can share my runs and activities with people that I am following or that are following me so it it’s a great motivational tool. It also stinks very well with The Apple health app and Apple Watch. I also love the tiles because you can hold down a tile and filter based on the tile you selected, I.E., number of steps, total water intake, bodyweight, caloric intake, etc.Are use other apps to track my work out so it’s not necessary for me to purchase the premium; however, I would purchase the premium app if the price point was different… Meaning a lot lower. Other apps such as my fitness pal and my work out allow me to track my workouts and also my calorie intake when it comes to meals, so it’s not really necessary for me to purchase the premium version. The basic free application is one of my favorite Apps, paid or unpaid.

Evolving App

In the beginning this app linked to LifeCoin. Then it didn’t. In the beginning this app liked to my meditations through Waking Up or through the Apple Health app. Then it didn’t (I log meditations manually). There are such better calorie counter/recipe apps out there than Calorie Mama and as far as photo AI for food or searching for food in a restaurant- forgetabodit. That said, I’ve paid my dues for the other apps, the nutritionists and the personal trainers so I’m not new at this, so I appreciate the fact that this app syncs flawlessly with my Azumio health scale and gives me a social network option of nice folks who encourage me. This app is clearly figuring out what it wants to be when it grows up. In the meantime I’ll work around its limitations and wait for its developers to get the recipe right. (Calorie Mama needs some serious help in the recipe department.) TJ’s is a good concept that could be great. Link to Sam Harris’ Waking Up Course and LifeCoin.

Like it on my phone, but not on watch

I like this app. I change my macros daily for carb cycling and I love the overall layout and setup. But the database, picture option, and even food scanner are really lacking. I’ve grown used to manually entering things & since I eat the same 20 items it’s not longer an issue but honestly they need to update their database. My second issue is the app on the Apple watch. I can only see activity and workout options on the watch app. I already have that through Apple and another fitness app. I just want to quickly see my calorie intake and macros for the day. This is super frustrating bc I only ended up with the paid subscription for Argus bc I purchased the annual membership for another azumio app, gym buddy, and when that app wasn’t useful I started using Argus instead of MFP so I didn’t feel bad for losing $40. Now I’m annoyed I didn’t just save my money and pay for MFP so I could use it on my watch and have set macros for specific days and actually be able to find foods in the database that I haven’t previously manually entered.

Medical Beriatrics

As a professional Epidemiologist 23y Nurse of 41y, my health was taken from me in two car accident (1st an insurance scam 2006 & 2nd second as a smaller the latest one. Trying to learn to walk with a broken lumbar region has proven to be the hardest challenges of my life to date of my 58 yrs.Because was in a medical bariatric program to loose weight, to reduce the pressure on my back & fear of an MVA has left me in constant fear as it was complicated by this weight issue. Purchasing Argus was the first program to easily track my calories on & out was amazing, but its ability to secronize both weight, blood sugar & activity, sleep, and other things such as hours slept, weather, heart rate has made laborious tasks so easy. My doctor can read even real time data, & maybe a personal trainer, can see calories and weight may not be a simplistic lab function. Making information objective for professionals see easier to achieve, & though my weight has not decreased as hoped, I can see empirically it is NOT my occasional slip of too many calories, the occ 8 oz can of soda, nor the massive amounts of protein consumed. The science of wellness may be those things when young or not ill. But once health is lost, these things go arye. I could not see this and other things in real time fashion without Argus & other means is aiding this effort. My doctors like it too.Thank you Argus!

Overall Great App

Pros: you can set health goals such as how many steps a day you want to walk, how many calories a day you want to intake, how many glasses of water a day you want to drink, and it will remind you throughout the day to drink water etc. I love how this app has everything you need integrated into one app. I’m not sure how this isn’t the #1 rated health app! It’s way better than Fitness Pal. It has a fun feature to challenge a friend to see who can walk the most steps. You can scan barcodes to have nutrition info automatically entered. If you cook, you can create recipes to input nutritional info & save them for the future if needed again. If you go walking/running you can turn on the GPS to track where you walked. Just so many cool features, I could go on and on...Cons: There are some features that you have to pay for to access, such as only being able to manually enter calories but you have to pay for the subscription to enter the rest like carbs, protein & fat. You can scan a barcode of the food & it will show you everything including the carbs, protein & fat. But to enter a recipe manually, you don’t have access to that unless you pay the subscription. That’s the only thing I don’t like about this app.

4 1/2 stars!

The app is great. If it was possible, I would have given it 4 1/2 stars.I like how it offers workout plans, daily challenges, and the stand up testing. It is capable of adding pictures of food, and displays all of your information in a fun format. I also LOVE the articles that are posted daily. It is probably the most elaborate app I’ve been able to utilize, and would definitely recommend people paying the money to have the upgrades. The only thing I dislike about it is adding food. It doesn’t allow me to add whole meal options at once, and took a little bit longer. It also doesn’t allow you to change the serving size measurement for all your items, and I haven’t quite figured out how to create my own items just yet, but sure I’ll get to it.Either way, I have absolutely recommended this to people and think it’s a fantastic app.

Argus Fitness App

I have been on Argus for 4 1/2 years, and it has literally changed my life. When I first got on Argus, I had been sick for almost 5 years and was confined to my bed for around six hours every day. I started using Argus to motivate and track myself to walk every day. Today, I sometimes walk 20 miles/day. Also, I have progressed to the point of doing workouts, some including using dumbbells and kettlebells. One of the greatest aspects of Argus is the interaction you get to have with people all around the world. I have made some of the best friends I have ever had, and I’ve been blessed to meet some of them, and there are some that I talk to almost on a daily basis. The only negative thing I can say about it is that some people like to treat it as a dating site, and/or some people take inappropriate pictures of themselves. It does so much more, but if you choose to buy it, you will quickly come to love it as much as I do!

Awkward and difficult to use tracker

I’ve been using the premium version of this app for a little less than a month and I have to say I hate it. Entering in my daily meals is cumbersome and the database itself is often inaccurate. The camera feature (which is one of the main reasons I chose this app) rarely works and is worthless. For instance, when I took a picture of mashed potatoes the app suggested they were a plate of cauliflower. Arugula salad was green beans. Whole meal pictures are worse. There are also things that are irritating with the app. Like constantly seeing an ad for Argus’ scale even though I have a premium account. The camera screen blocking out the menu buttons when first starting the app, and even the included recipes are junk. Lastly, be very careful when purchasing a subscription with this company. I chose the 1 year subscription and immediately hated the app. Apple would not refund my money even though Argus’ terms state I had 14 days to change my mind. Once you subscribe you’re stuck. There are much better apps with more accurate and user friendly databases. I suggest you avoid Argus with a ten foot pole.

Great for holding yourself accountable

The app works great for counting calories once you get used to navigating its functions. The food database is a bit messy, but thorough; you just need to scroll through the list to find what you're looking for, though there seem to be many repeats for basic foods with some variations in calorie counts, so it's hard to know what to pick. A "frequently eaten" list might be a nice addition for saving every day foods; though the foods you input are saved in a master list, it gets kind of long after a while and it would be nice to have a shorter list of foods you consume often. The app offers workouts and exercise tutorials, but I haven't yet figured out to input your own workouts and figure those calories burned into the daily count. That might be doable, but if so that feature isn't an obvious one while navigating. All other features work well, and the price of an annual Premium subscription is better than similar apps. Overall, I'm enjoying using Argus!
