It makes a busy life manageable

Before this app and the philosophy behind it I used many apps to keep organized. Meeting and class notes went into a dedicated note app. If an action item or todo came up in that meeting, I’d open the task management app to capture the task. Eventually the calendar would be open so I could capture upcoming event dates. When planning out my week I had several things to pull from to focus on what to do and when to do it. Even with learning GTD and other methods the whole process was more cumbersome than it needed to be.I gave this app a try. It took some getting used to as I merged everything under one roof. Now the transition is made I feel completely in control of the process from intake to completion. Id highly recommend this app for anyone looking for a digital brain that can keep life organized.

Great replacement for Evernote

I decided to look for a different note taking/project management app after evernote increased it’s prices. I am throughly impressed with Amplenote! I like the way you can easily link between notes! And the tagging system is great! I have ADHD and managing my work and day to day projects is really easy with this system! Two minor suggestions I would make for the developers would be the ability to create tags without having to create a note first and being able to add tags directly to a task (especially the quick note ones). Other than that, no complaints! I’m looking forward to continuing to use Amplenote and learning how to utilize it more in my life.

Very impressed

Still trying it out yet mind blowing how clean it is on the web and the confluence with mobile app. Desktop web very actionable to type “jots” into tasks linked to notes all just from typing [] and [[ brilliant invocation. Ability to easily cross reference and add details to text on the go makes for powerful editing (eg footnotes or wiki type annotations). Fills a diff slot between Evernote and Todoist and am liking it better than both. I like this tool best for note taking than for archiving documents as I use Evernote for. And I like the stream of consciousness more than todoist clicking clicking clicking. Free plan user.

My go-to note taking and task management app

I love Amplenote! This is both my go-to note taking app AND task management app. It's super easy for me to take notes in Amplenote during a meeting, highlighting important points along the way, and setting to-dos as I go. On especially productive days, I love to see my "Completed" graphs soar at the bottom of my notes as I check things off!The ability to easily include comments and pictures within links is incredibly useful and a combination feature that I have not found anywhere else. And I love being able to tag my notes so I can easily sort down to the different projects I'm working on.I also love how notes are automatically sync'd between the web app and mobile app. It's very common for me to write drafts of messages on my laptop and copy-paste them into the appropriate app on my iPhone (I actually wrote this review in this exact way, haha).Again, big fan over here. Highly recommend for people who want an easy-to-use, simple, yet powerful note taking and task management app!

Top app for note-taking and to-dos

Amplenote is my go-to app for productivity. It offers all the features of several apps combined. Easy to organize notes, and tasks have visual cues for identifying long-outstanding to-dos (while also providing the ability to set due dates and sync with a calendar). You can even keep tabs on your productivity with a graph of completed tasks. Notes stay sleek and easily digestible with embedded content (links to other notes in the Amplenote account or external sources, images, and “footnotes”). Shared notes sync seamlessly when updated by those you’ve shared with. Definitely my top productivity tool for both professional and personal needs!

Truly getting things done

Very intuitive to use. I mostly use this app to make shared tasks easier to manage (via shared note) and on the fly note-taking.Update: After 3 years of using the app I can say that this is one of the best productivity apps out there. The developers have improved continuously and have added many useful features. The 2 way calendar integration is very helpful to my daily workflow and the the level at which you can sort your tasks is very impressive. I also use the note linking/ back linking feature all of the time, which has turned my workflow into a hybrid of getting things done and personal knowledge management. And now there is table support which I have been waiting for, and it works great! So much you can do with Amplenote. Cheers!

This app is making me more productive

I have been using the Amplenote for about a week, and I find myself keep going back to it everyday. It made me realize why so many of the productivity apps I used before never worked for me. The time wasted toggling back and forth across note-taking, tasks and the planner caused too much frictions that I just ended up not using any of the apps consistently. I like that if I need to find my next task, go to Amplenote. I have an idea, go to Amplenote. I can stay motivated and productive. I also feel so much better that I don’t need to transcribe my paper notes into digital. It is so much easier to search for my notes in Amplenote than on paper that I’ll make it a priority to type in my notes either on my mac, my iPhone or my iPad.Keep it going team. You are creating something awesome.

Something really special about this app

Not quite sure what the full combination is but this app just makes sense for me. The connection between jots and notes and then into tasks has a logical structure that really works. Team seems really responsive. Lots of help and support. Has made my life better in just a week. Yes, there’s stuff that could be better, but not enough to make me drop it, like so many others. And I’ve tried Notion, Evernote, Obsidian etc. I’ve moved fully from them to Amplenote. Nice work Bill and team.

non-standard markdown, awkward tasks, and limited calendar

I wanted to give Amplenote a try because I was so impressed with the way the app triages tasks. Basically, tasks are given a numerical rating based on how long they are expected to take, when they are due, and how urgent/important they are. This is a great idea, and hopefully as Amplenote goes along and perfects its troublesome aspects, it can further refine this idea. The app doesn’t use standard markdown, and doesn’t support split screen on iPadOS. This meant that I was struggling to enter tasks from other apps. Because Amplenote doesn’t provide an in-app list of hotkeys, and because some of the hotkeys it does provide are non-functional, I found the app confusing at times. I think it has quite a few kinks to work out before it can be considered a stable, ready-for-consumer task management tool. Finally, the calendar only allows for “business” and “household” as calendar segments, and allegedly one can drag tasks to one’s day to schedule around appointments. I was never able to get this feature to work, despite trying in both the web app, iOS, and iPadOS.

Finally an way for me to organize

To start, I have not been using Amplenote for very long, only a little over a week at this point, but it has already greatly improved my day to day. The part of this software that I love the most is the ability to stay in one a single piece of software for my notes, my tasks and my calendar! Having tried other solutions it is just hard to switch between multiple apps, while I love notion for notes and have enjoyed todoist, I would always lose items or context when switching between these apps. I don’t have to switch anymore! And with backlinking, I don’t lose the context either! I’ve very excited about this app and the new plugin functionality as well and hope to be able to contribute and continue to have it help me in my day to day.
