I was offline using my iPad and wrote two very long important mems for work. I connected to Wi-Fi, but the mems didn’t sync to my iPhone. I tried star-ing them to force a sync, but that didn’t work either. Later on, when I went back to my iPad, both notes were gone. I lost many hours of work!
Mem is such an awesome idea but the performance is terrible on mobile and desktop. Using it in the browser used to work really well but performance actually seems like it's getting worse, not better.
The app is pretty much unusable. Even when you’re just referencing notes. Tags don’t really work. Markdown doesn’t work. It should honestly be pulled until it’s fixed.
Looking for exactly what Mem provides but the execution just is awful. So many bugs between the app and the web/desktop version that I couldn’t really even test it out properly. And when trying to troubleshoot, the documentation is really inconsistent with some of it updated and other things old and clearly wrong. Couldn’t really search Collections in mobile app. Would try to tap on a tag and it just does nothing staring back at me blankly. Pretty bummed at how unusable it is because the idea is perfect for my use. Hopefully they can get bugs squashed soon.
I was looking for this product and I’m actually paying for it. Unfortunately the app is just a mess and their desktop is not much better. So sad.
To be clear, Mem as a product is incredible. I want to use it every day, I use the web app regularly. But for whatever reason, this iOS app is borderline unusable. It freezes, it gives errors, it will undo work. It’s beyond frustrating especially since the web app works just great and Mem is the kind of product that gets more valuable the more you use it. It’s value is literally in repeated and frequent use. So this is antithetical. I’d be happier with this being a “light” version of the web app, so long as I can just get down simple notes. Want this product to succeed, hope this finds you well.
Not an app
I like desktop Mem a lot… but new Mems written in this iOS app do not sync to the desktop (Mems written in the desktop app *do* appear in iOS). It’s disappointing that a basic notes app feature is nonfunctional, because the system shows great promise.
This app is terrible. It breaks down. If it just did what it was supposed to do it would be five star app. I get the sense that Mem is not going to make it. Its 2023, without a working phone app, you're not going to make it in the note taking space.
The desktop version of Mem is fantastic. Does what’s promised. AI everywhere. All sorts of goodies. The iOS app feels like a haphazardly-constructed aloha version that was never intended for prime time. Too minimal. Things don’t sync properly between devices. AI is nowhere to be found.
The self-organizing workspace Mem is the world's first AI-powered workspace that's personalized to you. Amplify your creativity, automate the mundane, and stay organized automatically. Let AI help you make the most of what you know.
