Excellent and Very Customizable

Besides the obvious data keeping aspect of the app, it also has a bunch of extra functionalities. You can keep notes on accessory work, and calculate maxes based on the Bryczecki Formula.By far, the best thing about this app is the customizable aspect. You can tell it to round up or down on weights, you can decide what interval it rounds by, you can check off sets so you don’t forget where you stand(happens more than you think).Everything about this app is awesome.

Needs better tracking

If you could post the theoretical max at the bottom of each page for the number of reps you hit then this would be amazing. Also, if you had some traceability for what reps you hit before resetting the program and adding weight that would be perfect! I need to use a separate app to track progress over time but If it were here then shoot this would have everything

Exactly as advertised

This app is exactly what it needs to be, no more no less. It calculates the weight you need to lift for each exercise for each day of the program. All you have to do is put in your 1RM and complete the workouts. I can’t speak to the overall effectiveness of the 5/3/1 program as I’ve only been doing it for 3 weeks but I like it so far and this app helps me keep my mind on moving the weight rather than calculating how much I need to put on the bar.

Everything I wanted

I was looking everywhere online for a website to do these calculations for me and couldn’t find anything. I was looking for an app on powerlifting news and I found this. It has a lot of convenient features and I love using it during training. Maybe not the most robust but if that’s what you’re looking for, maybe just get a personal trainer and write your own program.

Great App with one small issue

Firstly, this is a great app that I use almost every day and recommend it to everyone running 5/3/1. I am just posting this review here in hopes that the developer can tweak one minor thing. In the book, it says that you increase your TRAINING MAX by 5/10 lbs. after every cycle. However, the app only gives you the option to increase your 1RM. Please give us an option to increase the value of our training max every cycle. Once again, great app!

Programming made easy

I really love how simple and convenient this app makes everything! All I need is a full charge, head phones, preworkout, and I can have one of the best workouts every time I step in the gym using this app!The app is free but I recommend just spending the extra money on a graph and the log/graph for accessory lifts as well! It is so cheap in comparison to a powerlifting coach and makes accountability that much easier as well as much more digestible feedback than what you feel like from session to session.Very satisfied with the in app purchase and definitely the best app on the market for powerlifting!

Easily gets 5 stars, does absolutely everything.

This app is at its best when you buy the IAPs. It does everything you could want in a 5/3/1 app. My only gripe, which is super-minor is that the ability to re-order the days you do which lifts is bundled with the ability to track additional exercises, and that isn’t immediately obvious. I didn’t bother with that IAP because I am only tracking the big four, only to find that the one feature I wanted was already available and I didn’t know it.

Simple, solid, useful.

The criticism I have to offer is that the app doesn't have a feature which generates which weight plates to use. I've used apps in the past that automatically displayed which weights you needed on the bar for each set like a 45, a 10, a 5, a 2.5 and a 1.25. Barbell math is easy enough but it's nice to just slap on what it tells you to during warmup sets. The only other thing I have is that the rest timer does not continue counting down if you leave the app, so if you check a Facebook notification during a 3 minute rest or leave the app to check that text you got during your last set, your rest timer is jacked. Fix those two things and the app would be nearly perfect.10/10 would download again. lol.

The perfect 531 companion

After trying about a dozen solutions of the years, I finally discovered this app a month ago and it is by far the best, most efficient, and most intuitive app for 531 tracking. The design looks great and feels good to use. The in-app purchased are reasonably priced, which brought the total app cost to around $10 for me- which is well worth something of such elegant design. I have no complaints so far with it, perhaps maybe it’d be nice to have a few colorways that swap the red for other colors? But I’d be happy with its design for the rest of my life. Thank you for this app!

Incredibly functional app for 5/3/1

First time making a review because this app deserves 5 stars. I even bought the in app purchases just for extra convenience and to help the developer. I was using spreadsheets and print outs for a year for 5/3/1 and this app eliminated that. The ability to track all of your lifts over time with the calendar is by far the best feature. It’s great to easily look back at all of my lifts and notes for each day and to track my estimated 1RM in the graphs. Only thing I wish this app had was a way to keep track of what cycle you’re on and what 1RM you’ve used in past cycles so you don’t accidentally set the wrong one. Besides that this app is basically perfect.
