The games themselves are fine. Fun, even. But the interface is counterintuitive. You have to keep tapping a square until it fills in the answer you want. They cycle through in order, so you’re not guessing entirely at random, but it can be pretty darn close, depending on the game. Games with numbers, easy enough. Except some games cycle through 1-9. Some cycle through only numbers you can play (if the board doesn’t require you to fill anything above 3, it’ll just cycle through 1, 2, 3. Games with pictures don’t have a logical progression. You just have to keep tapping and watch closely to ensure you’re entering the right thing. This is especially frustrating in the “Farmer” game, because it cycles through different random fruits each game. You can’t even memorize the order, because it changes with each game board. “Helium and Iron” at least has a consistent order, but which icon they use for helium and iron varies within the same board, which is disorienting. They also recently added a “pause ads” feature which is more distracting than any of the ads that play on the app. It doesn’t pop up on the play area, but it covers the line where it shows your time and moves. It also doesn’t just appear, it slides, and the movement draws your eye away from the game you’re trying to play. Altogether, what could be a very fun, relaxing experience becomes frustrating very quickly.
