My complete go to prayer companion

I have had the Word Among Us print editions for 20 years and have given many a gift subscription. It really does make a wonderful gift no matter the platform... I decided to get the digital subscription when COVID-19 changed the way we attend Mass. Since Missals would no longer be available in the pews, I wanted to be able to follow along on my tablet or smartphone. Not only does Word Among Us include daily scripture readings, it also has the Order of the Mass. The daily meditations are well written, and I look forward with great anticipation to reflecting on God’s word each day. If the app were the print copy, I would wear the cover right off every issue. I do wish there was a way to access the forum from the app. Currently, you have to go to the web version to participate in any discussions.

WAU starts my day!

I started reading the daily Mass readings and meditations as a Lenten practice several years ago. Now the first thing I do after I get up in the morning is take time to continue to do this. It has enriched my prayer life and the readings fill in the blanks between Sunday Mass scripture. The meditations are always appropriate for my life! On the weekends I take time to read the monthly reflections, conversion stories and Saint stories. I love it. I still read the paper print version, but when I forget it or cannot find it,I know I can count on this handy App!

Excellent content. Excellent app!

For us, this is the best way to read The Word Among Us everyday - so much so we cancelled our print subscription. Using the app, I can quickly locate and read the mass readings and corresponding meditation and launch into prayer everyday, from anywhere. It’s great that the app automatically downloads the latest daily readings in the background so that even if I don’t have a data connection at the moment, the readings are always there for me.

Daily readings

A lifelong Catholic, though I regularly attended Sunday Mass, I had spent little time reading and studying scripture. Started attending daily Mass when my son was deployed for six months to the Middle East four years ago I began each day reading the day’s scripture and summary thoughts before the service. I continued this practice after he safely returned home still finding it a good way to focus as I start my day. He leaves again this spring; I ask you all to remember them as you start your own day.Update: Thankfully, he and his squadron mates returned safely from this latest deployment. My morning reading of the day’s Mass scriptures and reflections continue to help guide me through the day.

Content is Great - App Needs Help

I may be missing this somewhere in settings, but it is really frustrating that I am required to have an internet connection to access anything on this app. I’ve read the FAQs and help files. No luck. All missals, etc. we’re removed from church due to COVID-19. I wanted to use this on an iPad to follow the readings and mass parts. Well... I don’t have internet in church. And of course I didn’t cancel in time... literally missed by one day. I was getting this on Kindle and I could download it in its entirety in that platform. I liked the layout of the app more than the kindle layout, but it didn’t occur to me that the content wouldn’t be downloaded and available offline.

Mass & Meditation Go To

I use this daily for meditation and daily Mass. This app was especially useful during Covid when we could have no books in the pews. I could use this app on my phone to follow along during Mass. The text size was easily adjustable. Also, the meditations are very inspirational and a great way to start the day. So happy that app includes audible for the daily Mass readings which I use in morning meditation.

Favorite way to read scripture

The Church in its holy Wisdom gives us readings for each day from the Old and New Testaments. Reading scripture in this way helps us to see how the Old is fulfilled in the New. It also helps us to live liturgically with the Church calendar year. Word Among Us has beautiful and easy to understand reflections on the readings. They help you to better understand scripture and to grow in your faith. I like to read the readings before I go to Mass, and also to read daily readings when I do not attend daily Mass.

Update!! App won’t open!?!

I will now give the app a glowing 5 star rating!! After having issues with the app they contacted me direct and worked with me to fix and update the app! Fantastic app...fantastic customer service!I downloaded the app to log in with my print subscription however when I go to open the open...it opens and crashes. I hope the developers fix the problem

Daily missalette view

With version 2.0 you changed what was a very readable view. Version 2.0 is awful, or worse if there is a way to grade it worse than awful. PLEASE PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!! Also with the new version, even when I make the font size so small I need a magnifying glass, I am constantly scrolling up which distracts from the Mass. please change this version mess as it applies to the missalette view back!OK. Old man with resistance to change. I found by going to “Mass” I get everything I need, and I’ve changed the font size so I love the new version.

Comfort and courage

Daily pryer is a staple in my life. The Word among is is the entree. Each day I read the Mass scriptures and the Meditations. It guides me as I try to live the life God has chosen for me. I am in the autumn of that life but it continues to be fresh as a summer flower. I have five sons, now approaching 60, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. They are a source of joy and wonder. The have been mistakes nd struggles, dreams come true and dreams deleted. Grand times nd sad times. But always Gods word brings my back to the strength of forgiveness and wholesomeness.Thank you for being a beacon for me for thirty years.Jane schultz, Ninjas
