Amazing Game

One of the best if not THE best mobile game for quality and fun. Ads are kept minimal and never bother you in the middle of playing. You can also watch ads to boost your gameplay but you don’t have to win, they just speed up your progress, but I’m not sure why you’d do that unless the level was particularly difficult. Other than that, this game gives me strong nostalgia of my childhood, and is easily the greatest modern reboot of this classic genre of jet fighting. Thank you to the devs and publishers!

Meh

This is a fun game when you get to play it, but at the same time it’s super overcrowded. It’s a bullet storm game, but I don’t need my fire blinding me from the enemy’s shots. The only way for you to progress successfully is to clear the waves before a hidden timer is up, if you don’t do it fast enough you don’t get a boost. Your health bar is hidden unless low or you lift your finger, sometimes a shot does 10% sometimes it does 200% damage. There are no separate vibration, big visual effects, or sound effects for your ship taking damage. So it’s buried with all the other clutter. When you clear a wave SOMETIMES all shots on screen wipe. But on the off chance they didn’t, you’re absolutely dead to something you can’t control since you ship immediately centers itself plowing through whatever fire might be in the path. Mid battle upgrades are spaced out so poorly after your first two rounds. This game acts like it wants you to play it A LOT, but then punishes you by “poor RNG” for your buffs. Some of the levels even intentionally start you off right from the beginning with too many ships to clear, setting you up for a slow burn of never upgrading because you physically can’t clear it. If you want a pick up and play for 5 minutes to 10 MAX kinda game, it’s great! Because that’s all you’ll enjoy playing of it.

Great game, Ad︃ heavy.

Tons of fun if you enjoy this genre, it’s one of my favorites. It is heavy on the ads as far as doubling your rewards and what not, but it certainly doesn’t force ads on you like most games. It doesn’t throw game related ads at you, it doesn’t spam you with sales and deals, etc.There is an option for no ads of any kind ever again, but I personally think $30 for an ad free mobile game is insanely steep. $10 is a lot for Ad︃ free gameplay, but reasonable if the game is worth it, but I have yet to play any mobile game that is worth anywhere near $30. Unless it is a port of a classic game like final fantasy or something.But $30 for Ad︃ free in a game that even after that $30, you still have to pay more to get gems/planes/upgrades. It’s very overkill and I hope the devs reconsider this insane price. $30 should give you a full 20-30+ hour game, with zero ads and every plane available or at least unlock able through gameplay not related to opening chests and chance.I wish this game would come to Apple Arcade as a non free to play version with frequent updates and added content, I would play it all the time.So I give it 5 stars because I greatly enjoy the game, I just think the devs are reaching really hard to expect people to pay that amount for ad free.

Overall Ok at best

Like others have stated, it’s a sky force style game. The graphics are good and the customizable craft and weapon combinations are worth mentioning. The game play is smooth and time consuming but it becomes very monotonous quickly. After the first couple of stages, it becomes blatantly obvious that this is a cash grab game. It takes forever to level up your equipment and ships enough to have a chance of completing the following stage. If you are a player that doesn’t mind “grinding” through a game, this one is not for you. Running the stages that you ultimately get killed on yields very little reward. You get more equipment drops from being idle. Once you do manage to get enough items to upgrade, the next stage of equipment is almost not worth the trouble for how long you have to wait to get enough materials. The titan challenges are extremely boring and predictable and use a ton of energy that can only be replenished through the use of diamonds, which are not very common for non paying players, or through the watching of ads. Which is the next down side. If you want anything outside of the idle drops, you must watch an excessive number of crummy ads in order to milk a little more of a chance of getting gear out of the game. Overall it’s not bad if you aren’t paying for it but the aforementioned issues can become an annoyance quickly.

The more I play the more I like it. 👍🏻

Takes time to learn all the things you can do, how to upgrade is no easy matter and accumulating rewards takes patience and work. But FUN work as you mow down the enemies. There are other challenges besides the main game too. Plenty of action. My only complaint is how each level is basically like the last one only harder: more ships more bullets to dodge. At least on the early levels where I am. Good graphics, battlefield gets colorful when everyone is shooting at each other!! Ads are used as a way to get rewards so I watch as many as possible except when actually playing since I don’t want to break up the action.

Wow

Best phone game app I’ve ever played. Enjoyable without having to invest money into it, but it pays to do so. Doesn’t feel bonding like other games, where you need to constantly grind for days upon days to reach even the smallest milestone. Lots of options with a vast upgrade system, and the loot drops are consistent with a fusing system that lets you combine and upgrade. There’s alot more but if you’re looking for something to help pass time, this one is good 👍

Fun but a couple suggestions…

Fun little time killer but I have a couple suggestions, imo, to make it better. First, make it more noticeable when you take damage. As it stands now, I’ll be at 50% health but I thought I hadn’t taken any damage yet. Maybe make the screen flash or something when you get hit, idk. Also, some of those bosses be CHUNKING! The hearts are too far and few in between. Maybe add more hearts to the maps? Actually, you should add 50% more but make them heal for 66% or 75% of the amount they currently heal for. That would be a better trade off. Thanks for reading.

It’s a great game but…

So I’ll start off by stating the obvious. It’s basically Sky Force but a roguelike version of it. While it pales in comparison it makes up for it in other areas such as customization and other game mechanics. Now, for glaring cons, if you want to play it for free be prepared to watch an ungodly amount of ads. To disable the adds you have to buy it for $30 and it doesn’t include anything else. The premium currency isn’t obtainable except for stage progression, leveling up, and an event you can play that gets harder. They should have a steady influx of diamonds for dailies but dailies actually give you items you get through normal gameplay. They basically force you to buy them in order to redeem the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter” which brings me to my next point. You can get keys that take the place of the 300 diamond crate but what if you save 10 keys? Nope, you can’t use them on the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter”. It’s really bad. The devs are more money grubbing than many others in this regard. They don’t give you enough diamonds to get that pack and don’t allow you to save up keys for it. Overall I love this game. If you loved Sky Force this game will scratch that itch. Just be forewarned about the things I mentioned.

Ridiculous in many ways

In order to level up you have to open the diamond or key chests but there is a catch. Say you spend a bunch of money or play for a month to “guarantee a fighter or conquerer weapon” only to finally get there and they give a terrible repeat fighter in the game that you’ve had from the beginning and for the the conquerer weapon, it’ll take you a month before opening 50 chests to get a low level item that you need 3 of to level up. So you can’t even use it cause by the time you get it, your way passed that leveling. As for the asteroid field to obtain items. I like it but Anything that is good is just over taken by someone that has larger power. Lastly, I tried the route of spending the funds but that will not get you anywhere either. There is no way to buy the conquerer weapons (that you need at least 3 of to level up, SSR fighters, or any of the items that you actually want in the game. This game would be incredible if they fixed these issues. Mainly the part where you save up, just to get some repeat fighter that you already have a 100 of.

What happened during the update?

Great game. Ads aren’t required to play. Unlocking the ad-free version is way too expensive though ($30). After the last update, my power doubled for no apparent reason. The power requirements for levels also shot up. I was on campaign 11 and had enough power for it. Now I only have enough power for campaign 8. Didn’t see anything in the patch notes either.4/11 update: ever since the update, it’s hard to play this game for more than 10 mins. There’s zero progression after the power requirement bump. Really unfortunate. Also, the 2 planes that could be purchased with gems have been removed.
