We love this!

Many thanks to the reviewer who pointed out that you need to move the physical volume switch (the one that looks kinda like an on/off button) in order to hear the sound effects. That said, you don't necessarily need the sounds; kids and I played it during the Fourth of July concert with the sound off and enjoyed it perfectly well. And hey, cooperative gaming for the win!

Wild Awesome!

If you like the Wild Kratts TV show you'll really like this game. We had no problem with the sound. It's a fun way to learn adding and subtracting. Also you learn how to build and take care of a habitat. When you get the math questions right you get animals and plants to put in your habitat and food to feed them. It's kind of complicated because you can only put them in certain places, like the beavers have to go in the water but raccoons only go in trees that have been burned by lightening. You need certain things to make them happy, like beavers need trees and raccoons need berries. Also, sometimes you can't get what they need right away - you have to wait for a lightening storm to burn a tree before you can do the math to add the raccoon. I wish I could add things whenever I want to, but since you have to get everything an animal needs first it does teach you about how habitats are created and how everything depends on everything else. Once you get the hang of it it's really fun, and you get cool badges for making the animals happy. And you're practicing math the whole time.

We love this app

This app has been a big help in our homeschooling adventure. My 7 year old was frustrated with math and did not want to do his math. This game was a great reward and excellent practice. He is now enjoying math. His little brother (4) loves playing it as well , with help. We are huge wild Kratts enthusiasts! And this app has been a life saver.

My daughter is having fun practicing math facts. :)

I am a homeschool Mom with a daughter who is crazy about Wild Kratts, but not about practicing or learning math facts. She LOVES playing this game, and it is the first game I have found where she will willingly sit and do math for more than a minute or two. She loves taking care of all the animals and is determined to earn all the badges. Even if it didn’t have the math practice this would still be a great game, but that added bonus is great for us. We have not had any sound problems.

Doesn't work. No support.

My son and I sat here for half an hour trying to use this app. It tells you to tap on things, but when you do, and answer the math problem, nothing changes and your animals are still unhappy. The directions don't explain this and we can't figure it out. The app support link just gives you FAQs and then says ask PBS Kids if you have other questions, but PBS kids doesn't offer any support for the apps. What a disappointment.

Parent controls

Very excited to find this game for my son who LOVES the Kratt Bros but does not like math. Would like to see a parent control option to specify the math equation (subtraction/addition, etc) and number range (1-10 or 1-20, etc). My son got frustrated because the math got too hard too quickly. But we will take it in smaller bites and see how he does.

Enjoyable for fans but quickly becomes repetitive & math q's too challenging"

Enjoyable enough game for young fans but could vastly be improved with a few minor updates! Would love to see functionality to set math level (addition or subtraction) and to set number range for younger users (1-10, 1-15, 1-20). Also, adding ability to have math Q's read (8 plus how many equals 11). Finally, adding additional habitats would greatly help app fatigue! 5-year old suggestion: jungle or big cats!!

Very disappointed!

I just purchased this app for my daughter who LOVES the Kratt Bros. and math, but the app will not work, and I cannot find another way other than this review to get app support. The app loads, there is sound but when the the game calls for an item (sticks) to be dragged across the screen to another spot, nothing happens. Very disappointed with this problem and that I am not able to contact anyone about support. Bad call on the Kratt Bros. and PBS Kids for selling and not supporting this bad app.

Great game for preschooler

Lots of reviewers saying the math is too hard but it's not if you stop thinking about it like an equation as you were taught in school. Just teach the kid to count the items in groups of five and get the final number. Then they will start to really understand the equation. My 4yo is doing great and loves it.Also, as a biologist I LOVE that it teaches ecological pyramids (producers>consumers>secondary consumers).I only wish there were more biomes to choose from.
