Extremely Blind Friendly!
I appreciate the overall simplicity this app provides. I am a blind individual. It has always been a chore to tell my temp. I had a thermometer that had differing audible beeps. This was to let you know an approximate of your temp. However, then I would need sighted assistance to know actual temp. Along came the smart thermometers. Great idea, which provides the blind community it's independence. I first purchased a much more expensive unit from Withings. Couldn't even activate the thermometer. The app didn't work with a screen reader... So I couldn't even finish activating my account. Along comes the Vicks Smart Thermometer... The app is completely accessible for a blind individual to use. Not only that; I didn't have to open an account... Then build a profile. This app just has you start a profile. Building a basic profile and activating my thermometer took less than 5minutes to complete. Then was able to take first temperature reading. I can now follow my temp when not feeling well... More importantly, I do not need to bother someone to read a temp for me when running a fever. Highly recommend to those in my blind community... Easy setup with directions already in the app. You can't go wrong!
Great app and thermometer
I wanted to off set the poor reviews with my actual experience. The thermometer and the app interface appear to be accurate and working well for me. The person who wrote that values can't be entered manually didn't read the very easy to understand FAQ section that explains how to do this or maybe it wasn't available at the time of their review. The only thing missing from the app right now is the manual. I was hoping it was actually there under the heading "Manual" so that I didn't have to keep the small paper foldout that came with the thermometer. Hopefully, this will be added soon in an update. Setup was finished in about 1 minute. The app even shows how much battery life is left. My battery life shows 82% even though I just purchased this. The thermometer didn't come with one of those plastic strips - that you remove upon first use - that would decrease battery drain before use. I gave this app and thermometer 5 stars because it does what it says it's suppose to and appears to do this accurately.
Awesome for busy moms
I received this product for free to give my honest opinion. I Absolutly love this thermometer. I am able to keep track of my 3 toddlers temperature when they get sick and can get notified when to give the next dose of medicine. This is very handy when you go to a sick doctors appointment and they ask what how long your child us been sick and symptoms and temperatures. I love this little device so much! It really has made things a lot simpler for me as a busy mom who works from home goes to school full time and cares for 3 children under 4 years old.

I love all of the options I have with this thermometer. One tool can do oral, axillary and rectal temps, eliminating the need for multiple thermometers. It can also track temps over time and record when medication was given to help track frequency of dosing. Easy to use and with so many extras, the app and thermometer together are a dynamic duo.I love how quickly it produces a reading and the colt coding to help tired, frazzled parents translate what the number means in terms of fever severity. This tool provides important data regarding fevers, all automatically recorded and easily accessed n case of need for reference, which is really handy for a long-term illness and any reporting one may need to do to a physician.
Not bad orally
The underarm temps are off but the oral temps seemed accurate. In my experience, it's been a good product! The thermometer itself is sleek and nice looking. The app is designed to sync with the thermometer so you can track each temp taken. You can add each member of the household. There are three options to take the temp: oral, rectal, or underarm. I found the underarm is not reliable with this product. The oral was the best route. The cons of this product was that you must have your phone to know what the temp is. Not good if your phone is dead or you left it in the other room. On the flip side, the phone is keeping track of the temps for you so you're able to organize the time and better gauge the time a fever has elapsed. There are flaws, but I think overall it's worth having. I received mine free for testing purposes. I would recommend it to a mom for sure!
A very great app and thermometer
I received this thermometer free for testing purposes from Influenster. The app is a very useful app and it actually makes me relieved that I can track temperatures and not have to remember what the highest temp that was taken. It is extremely easy to use and/or figure out. I love that there are multiple profiles so that you can remember the whole family's temperatures. I am a mommy and this definitely helps me during the most stressful times which are sick times. With this app I can easily answer the doctors/nurses question easily and accurately about my families symptoms and temperatures. I like when you take a temperature it tell you how severe it is based on the child's age.
Great app, few glitches
I've been using this thermometer and app for several months now. I received it from Influenster for testing purposes and it has been a useful addition to my medicine cabinet. The app works pretty well, doesn't crash, and is easy to manually enter anything you need. It keeps a great record. It does struggle with communicating with the thermometer from time to time which is why I can't give it 5 stars. Since the corresponding thermometer doesn't display anything, this can get frustrating when you're taking your kid's temperature multiple times. I love that you can enter in medicine dosages and you have a clear record of everything so you can reference it as needed. Overall, a great app!
inaccurate !! terrible !! total crap !!
1st: having to give a star for this crap is one star too many for this useless thermometer! took temperature 5 times in a row and got completely different results each time ranging from 95.9 to 98.7 and all that within 15 minutes.I then used a classic mercury thermometer twice in a row and both times I got 98.9.If a fever thermometer cannot give you accurate readings well then it's just useless, plain and simple, no matter how nice the app is; the thermometer does not work.after reading all the wonderful reviews on here I thought that maybe my thermometer had been broken so I returned it and purchased a new one.The same happened.I just took my temperature orally 5 times in a row again.Every reading was completely different. I got temperatures from 97. 5 too 100.8. (!!)I honestly do not understand these good reviews of the product. It is totally inaccurate and 100% useless.Sure, the app is nice and shiny and looks good but what good is that if you're trying to find out whether you've got a fever or not and instead of an accurate reading you get some random readings that have nothing to do with your actual body temperature.Very, very frustrating.Advice:DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP FOR IT IS A WASTE OF $ and time with a dash of extra annoying. FEEL BETTER Y'ALL !
Best thermometer for your young ones
I was very excited to receive this thermometer from Influenster for testing purposes. I am a very busy mom of a 5 and 3 year old boys who hate their temperature to be takin but love to play with my iPhone. So when I combined to good with the bad the results were amazing. I linked the thermometer up with the Bluetooth on my phone after I download the Vicks SmartTemp App and the boys had fun watching their temperature rise on the app. It reads quite quickly and is very accurate. This app also keeps track of all the boys readings in their own personal profile. Couldn't ask for a better way to stay organized when we live such a busy lifestyle. And now that my oldest just stared kindergarten it seems like he is catching everything under the sun so when he's feeling a little under the weather we grab our new Vicks thermometer to find out if we need to take a dose of Tylenol.
The new way to take yours and your kids temp
Hello my name is Natalie. I am a mother of 2 ages 4 and 5 years old. When they are sick taking their temp is no easy task there's looking for paper or if none writing. The temps in my arm to keep track of them. It's just crazy and my kids are getting impatient because they already dont feel well. I was lucky enough to be part of a social testing group called influenster that lets you test products that match up to certain surveys you take. I was matched with this very thermometer whichever me tell you came just in time! My daughter had suddenly came with the flu over night and having a thermometer that links to your phone and every time you take the temp it reads it and stores and let's you I put the symptoms is every moms best friend . We already naturally have our phones with us or our child is playing games on it so access to the phone a snap. I grabbed thermometer used the Bluetooth connectivity and took my child's temp and there it displayed the temp and showed me through out the day what the different temps were and at what time I even emailed with the option to To my husband her almost chart so he can see her temps it's great for sending to doctors or saving for the next visit letting them see how the child been feeling I'm a huge fan and recommend for those moms that need a fast way to take temp and keep organized
