Difficult but rewarding

I’ve seen some poor reviews from people saying it’s too difficult. These people have obviously never played battle toads. Next to most retro games this is a cakewalk. It takes some pattern memory but if that’s ur kind of challenge I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I also love the control layout and I wish more games would utilize dedicated screen space for buttons. Many thanks to the developers!

8 Bits in All Their Glory

FDG, the legendary mobile / retro developers of Oceanhorn and Across Age have done it again. In lovingly constructed detail, this is a tough, slick, and beautiful game that would have given Mega Man some stiff competition in the 80s. The look, music, cutscenes, controls, weapons, 8 Bit Challenge, and level design are spot on. It also has some modern features such as MFi gamepad support, parallax scrolling, level select, auto save, and a permanent orb bank. Buy the hearts refiller for the bosses with the orbs you find and you can get by without IAPs. I would have liked hideable screen controls and the bosses to be a bit more fair, but I'm having a mega blast from the past with this one.

fun platformer

a good challenge with a pleasing variety in level design/scenery. game mechanics are polished and simple, yet responsive. skill and patience is rewarded here like in the early rockman/megaman franchise entries.it took me a month of casual playing while having downtime at work or loitering about to defeat this game. which felt very gratifying, for what that is worth. The last level of the fortress was very lazy in terms of level design and especially boss design- but the rest of the game is excellent especially Fortress level 1 and 2.

Awesome in every way

For whatever reason, this is absolutely my favorite ios game and the one I end up playing over and over. I don't it's too hard or too easy - I just like everything about it. Really well done. It's been a while so I don't remember if this is paid or free but one can play forever without needing an in app purchase. Besides the excellent game play, this is really my favorite part. After playing forever, I did decide to buy something just to support the dev. If you were to buy something, the coin doubler is a good value. Everything else seems unnecessary. I keep looking for new games to match this one but always end up going back. Really well done.

An instant fan!

As a wonderful callback to the original Megaman games, this challenging and well-designed adventure can supply hours of fun. With most games today offering a heavy story or near to nothing, this game offers a needed break by giving you just enough info to keep you motivated, and nothing more. As you progress through the several zones and levels this 8-bit masterpiece has to offer, you'll receive new and useful weapons to help you along the rest of the way; making it all the more satisfying to run, jump, and shoot your way to victory!

Wow

I never review games. Amazing play controls. Challenging without being rage-inducing. Great customer support and timely responses. Long term playability and by that I mean it rewards persistence (you get more coins which means more power and weapons). So if you’re really good, you won’t need them all but if you’re not, you get paid enough coins to get the extra stuff you need to win soon enough.

Exactly what I hoped for!

$0.99 for this amazing game! It's not original, but for someone that has never played mega man, I honestly don't mind at all, and I'd probably enjoy this game more if I had. The controls are way better than any other game I've played on my iPad. The enemy placement is also very well thought out! I expected a challenge that made me feel great when I finally completed an area, and that's exactly what I got! :D

Nice Throwback worth the Challenge

This is one of the more fun platformers I have played from the App Store. It is essentially geared towards the nostalgia crowd for when such games ruled the market over 20-30 years ago (built with heavy inspiration from original Mega Man games). The controls are pretty smooth for iPhone game and the game is intoxicating enough as you advance. It does take patience and commitment to advance as the levels get more challenging, but that just makes the success conquering each level that much more rewarding. Would recommend to others to check out.

Great game, not for everyone

First off, AMAZING GAME!!! I love it. Everyone saying it's too hard, just learn to play. Those people most likely have never played most of the games from the NES era, where hard was the norm. It's great that it's hard because it's replay able. I enjoy a good challenge although I admit the bosses are a bit unfair, especially to newbies. Although until the jungle is the only one I feel is insanely hard(I still haven't beaten him). But seriously this is an enjoyable and incredibly challenging mega man inspired 8-bit platform that I recomend wholeheartedly.

Wow!

Seriously don't listen to anyone else, this game is fantastic! The controls are so smoothe, never had a problem or lost because of them, very responsive. Also the bosses really are not that hard at all, they are "challenging" but not hard. Once you die the first time you will know the moves for next time. Fun, quick awesome game easily worth the 1 dollar if looking for a quick game this is it.
