Learning of shapes, ABC's, and many more!
Son is 20 months old. He is learning at the toddler age. He is learning a lot. He already knows a lot due to I was teaching my son his shapes, sizes, 123, ABC'S, and other learning material. My son also watches his baby tv which also helps his learning. Trace Letters & Sigh Words is excellent. My son is learning more of what he already knows and what he does not know. He loves to learn and loves electronics and this is a good way for him to learn, and it is fun at the same time for babies, toddlers, and kids!
Loving learning through play
I have three kids: boy 8yrs, boy 6 yrs and girl 3yrs. All three of my kids absolutely love this app. Yes I pay for the app but my kids use it almost every day. They can work on their specialized learning path or go and learn through picking other activities in the class or around town. Sight words, reading, alphabet, colors, shapes, puzzles. This app lets them learn through playing and having fun. Could not ask for a better app.
We downloaded the free version and upgraded to the paid app
My son is struggling with his handwriting. I downloaded about 6 apps to try them out. There were just 2 that made the short list and this was one of them. When ended up selecting this one for two reasons: the graphics are so neat when you fill in the letters and really mesmerize my son. He uses a stylus to trace and it works well. The second reason, and this is important, is that the way the instructions go with it, it asks you to trace in a gliding motion. The other apps we had would require you to actually pick up the stylus/break contact with the surface in order to change directions within a letter. However that isn't the proper way to learn to write. One continuous fluid motion is recommended by my son's occupational therapist. Therefore we felt this program was the more realistic and helpful for him.
The games are fun to him
The app is very user friendly. My now 5 year old started using Trace Letters & Sight Words when he was 4. He loves to show his two-year-old brothers different features (games, songs, etc). The games are fun to him. He enjoys the section that has new features related to the month and/or holidays. He also loves earning the stars to build his hamster cage. It is strangely motivating. He recently got his own iPad and was anxious for me to download the app on the iPad for him to play. I was not sure if he would be interested in it with all the FreeTime games and activities, but he still went back to Trace Letters & Sight Words. I have yet to let me 2 year-olds play with it much, but they do love all the music/songs that the program has to offer that their big brother shares with them.
Educational Fun
My son loves Trace Letters & Sight Words and it gives me a way to let him spend a little time using electronics that is educational and not just him being a couch potato. It has actually helped him with a few areas that he was struggling with. Things that we tried to work on to no avail. I like the app on my iPad because it is easier than the computer for him just to use the touch screen rather than messing with a mouse.
Amazing Learning app that REALLY works!!
We have only had this for a few days but my son is enthralled!! Which has me so happy! He has had a little trouble remembering words while reading and having issues with math, but each day he comes home and plays this and is doing so good that his teacher sent home a note saying to keep doing whatever it is that we ae doing now because its made that much improvement in just these few days! Excellent app all around. Kudos to the developers and I hope they make more comparable apps as he gets older! Thank you Trace Letters & Sight Words!!
Worth the money
I really love Trace Letters & Sight Words. I started homeschooling my daughter when she turned 2 so when she was 4 we decided to incorporate Trace Letters & Sight Words to get her ready for school. Be careful when you set the level, the app must have gone by my daughter's age which I'm assuming is normally pretty accurate. However since I began homeschooling so early she is pretty advanced, I couldn't figure out why she was so bored with it until I moved her up 2 more levels and now she's right back on track. There's so much to do and I recommend setting time limits for minimum or maximum usage. There are games, coloring pages, activities and more. Worth the money for sure.
Get It Now!
My almost 2yr old loves it so much! He looks forward to playing with it, he has gotten so good at the games, which is fun and easy to pick up. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tracing app for their child! I see few reviewers commented about Ads in the app. In my opinion, it doesn't effect to my kid's active play. They're stupid to think they should get everything free - free app, no ads with beautiful typography, illustrations, and lovely song? OMG!!! They should request Apple to get a free iPhone/iPad as well.
Great for preschool to get them started
If I could give this app 10 stars I would. We have been using Trace Letters & Sight Words on our computer for quite some time. Then my husband found an app online for us to use and I could not be happier and neither could by four year old. We have four boys altogether and sometimes life gets hectic and we can't always sit down at the computer and do his lessons. However with this app we can do them wherever we go!
Great product
I downloaded this app while it was free so there are no advertisements. This is a huge plus! I thought that this app was going to be difficult for my 5 year old to use because he has Down syndrome but he completely gets it and is already repeating the sounds he hears. My daughter played this app at her preschool so she was already familiar with it and loves that I was able to download it for her. It is colorful and interactive. The words are spoken clearly so each of my children are able to understand what is being said and then respond appropriately. I feel that this is app is going to be helpful for my son over the Summer before he enters Kindergarten.
