A quick thank you to the developers for v6 of this software and the watch firmware. Flawless install of the firmware this time around. Also happy to see the new GPS functionality

App won’t connect watch to phone

I purchased the T-Touch 1853 and have not been able to connect the watch to my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 16.0. Reached out to Tissot and they sent me the standard directions that I have already tried a dozen times. Paid over $1000 for a watch that can’t connect to my phone. Strongly considering returning it.

Eh…

It would be nice to see Tissot give the consumer the ability to easily submit problems and/or improvements to Tissot. The lack of doing so either reflects inexperience in this “Smart” market or a manufacturer that doesn’t care about feedback.

Connection

I’ve had the watch for a couple months and other than the compass never being able to calibrate, everything has worked rather fine up until yesterday. First the watch would say it was connected to the phone, but the app would say it wasn’t connected. Then the watch stopped counting steps. And now I’ve removed the watch from the app in hopes to reset everything, but the watch will no longer connect to the phone at all. The watch is “configuring” while the app returns to saying that it is “searching” for the watch. Was a pretty great experience up until now. Hope the connection and calibration issues get fixed soon, because it has the potential to be such an amazing watch.

Good luck pairing

I have spent the last hour trying to pair my watch to a phone. No Bueno. It says it want to pair the the watch goes back to the open and asked if I would like to pair this device. I am bringing the watch back tomorrow and getting my money back. Not a good smart phone. BTW the instructional video was not helpful. My process did not flow like that at all. Don’t wast your money. By an Apple Watch.

Started off well…..

I have had my T-Touch Solar Connect for close to a year and from day one it connected to the iOS app and worked fine. A couple of firmware updates along adding more functionality and it still worked fine. But this latest firmware update and it has all but bricked the watch. Cannot connect at all. Have rebooted phone and watch. Deleted app and reinstalled. Have followed all the troubleshooting and still….nothing. C’mon Tissot techies, get it together. Yes, if I chose, I could use the watch without connecting to the phone but it is a “connect” watch, as the name implies. Was happy for nearly a year. Not happy now.UPDATE: Set the brick watch aside for four days, tried again and Voilà….all worked fine, just as it did on the day I originally purchased it. App uploaded my earlier data and all information is intact. Don’t know why it took my ignoring the watch to finally come back online.

So far so good…

I’ve been reading these reviews for quite awhile, and finally decided to take a chance on this one. I have the prior version and love that watch as well. I was able to pair according to the directions and I like the UI so far. I guess time will tell whether the connection remains as the firmware changes. Fingers crossed…

Update jacked my watch

Loved the watch right up until the last update Now I cannot get any notifications on it. Deleted the app and reloaded it. Factory reset the watch. No go. Cannot get any help from tech. After several calls and a lot of frustration it became painfully obvious it was the phone. None of the tech support people knew what to do . I got into setting , notifications and then make sure That “show previews” is set to always. Tech support was not aware of this . It works like it did pre update. I will change my stars back to 5. I should deduct one for tech support but I like the watch too much.

UPDATE

After getting in touch with Tissot tech support I found out that you need to complete the pairing in a certain order in a certain time otherwise it bombs out on you. He walked me through it from start to finish and it finally paired! He also informed me there will be a firmware update the end of June that will take care of a number of bugs including this pairing issue. I went on to calibrate every other function with no problems including the compass.
