Love this app, but....

Too bad about the few little bugs that still need working on. I found that alarm will work with background sounds but not with iPhone music and have reported this to the designer. Wish that seconds after the alarm the weather would be read and not have to wait for action from the user. Really don't like the additional in-program purchases. These times should come with the program.

Talking Alarm

Great program, the best i've seen of all the alarm apps for the iPhone. I really like the features, and options, it is a well thought program. One thing I would like to see is a better selection of news to choose from, like Fox News, and others, the current choices are very limited! Let's add some choices please!Also when I try to get some all packs and other for my purchased talking weather pro that I paid for from the app store, it's saying that I have to buy the app, this is unacceptable, and I want it rectified, or I will let the app store know this app and others! As u must know words of mouth travels fast especially on the internet!

Good concept, shaky execution

Nice concept to have weather and news play when the alarm is silenced. However the app has several significant shortcomings.1. The app failed numerous times when first installed (iPad2 and iPhone5), it finally settled down but one wonders if it is really stable for the long haul (do you really want to trust the thing to wake you up on time??)2. The native display is hideous. Additional display options are an added expense. The first display featured in the App Store ad does not come with the download and is an additional purchase.3. There are limited choices for background images but incredibly, in order to add a user image for a background, an additional in app purchase is required. Really? I have to pay to add my own photo for the background? 3. There is a poorly defined "professional voice service" subscription that costs extra. Not clear exactly what this feature does or what the recurring costs are.4. When back on the iPhone home screen, the app throws really annoying announcements with chimes regarding configuration. (Yes, I know I chose that configuration so enough already).5. Yahoo weather is ok but there is a serious need for additional news sources, the Wall Street Journal tops my want list. This app came highly recommended from a popular on line app news source, I am puzzled by the glowing recommendation, won't be trusting that source for app recommendations again.

A good start

But developer must realize that many of us wear glasses and we don't sleep with them. At least have an option for BIG clock numbers!Update. This software appears to have been abandoned. That's too bad. It is a good idea. But the most critical design feature of a clock is that it be readable! This clock isn't. After months of inactivity a 'bug fix' release has come out. No improvement to clock image. Well, what's a bigger bug than a hard to read clock!Another update. 2.0 is out. Things have gotten worse. Clock is more readable, BUT now the alarm doesn't go off!! At least not if ur running IOS 5. Plus music that is started with the sleep timer, stops when you switch to clock display!! You know, I REALLY want this app to work. But I've switched back to another app that does work.Yet another update and music still stops when you switch back to the clock display. Now, three other alarm clock apps I own do not have this issue so it is fixable, guys!

DOES NOT WORK

I've tried so many times to make it work but it doesn't. If I tap on the app it just takes me back to my home screen. I've tried about 15 times to open it but won't open ☹☹☹.

Great concept, but app doesn't work.

I bought this app for $.99 and then bought the in-app package purchase for $7.99. The app has a lot of functions that I have been looking for in an alarm clock and can't find. However, the app doesn't work correctly. The weather doesn't update. It sits and spins saying "updating" for a long time. Finally updates rarely, but the temperature on the interface doesn't match the temperature on the weather part of the app. I set the alarm to wake me up to a song on my music app but that doesn't work either. The alarm does sound, but it's just a standard ring. I have emailed the company with no response back.

Terrible.

The app requires an additional $2 purchase to work if you want to be able to turn off an alarm. That $2 buys you the ability to turn off the alarm and have incorrect weather read to you. For instance, the forecast for my location said the high and low was 64 and it was cloudy today. It's currently raining hard here and our high is forecasted to be 84. I tried to change to another weather provider than their default: that feature is still under construction. So to summarize: buy an app called talking weather alarm for 99 cents. It neither talks nor shuts off. Pay another 1.99 for unclearly explained addons. Get the functionality promised by the app save for accurate weather. Wish I could have my $3 back.
