UI it’s a great and beautiful but there is no quality control of the video , can’t change the quality and I can’t change the posters, and they don’t sync , it’s like a beta release and I hope they fix the problems because the app is so great.
Performance could be better, there are strange UI bugs here and there, the Apple TV version feels especially laggy and buggy, but I am grateful that it exists. Playback is smooth, jumping forward and back 10-15 seconds is nearly instantaneous. A breath of fresh air compared to Plex.Looking forward to see how it improves.
Please, on Apple TV : - Remove native player from experimental. Each time I try to use it, video just load without end and my server becomes laggy. - Remove direct play from experimental. - Support PiP - Add option to mark as watched or unwatched. - Show Rotten Tomatoes rating. Thanks
Great app, but I probably will not use it until we can fullscreen the video, which is what gets rid of the white bar at the bottom of the screen. I know this is more Apple being Apple than the devs being careless, so still full marks for me. Hope they can work this out though.
Loving this app and happy to see it is out of TestFlight! There seems to be an issue with audio playback when playing through a stereo pair of HomePods connected to a 4k Apple TV. The lipsync is off and after working through settings and noticing that this is the only app we are seeing this issue persist, I want to drop a note to make the developer aware. Thank you for your hard work and looking forward to the evolution of this app!!
This is what Jellyfin should have been! After using infuse for months, which requests the entire huge file, swiftfin is like a breath of fresh, UN buffered air off of a field of flowers. It’s the only app to work flawlessly on many of my older apple products and in my iPad mini with iOS 15.7.1. Definitely download this if you have trouble with Jellyfin playing. It’s what Apple devices CRAVE!!!
It’s incredible slow to charge everything and if you try to play anything while loading.. it will crash Lacks live tv, multiple server/ips… dashboard options, Picture in Picture, music, etcThe good thing is, it loads hevc directly and it looks way better than the old one, but other than that, the old one doesn’t crash, loads faster, has almost every feature, etc
I never want to touch Plex again, I’m definitely a convert. I would say this app is not fully featured, and it really seems odd how the player does integrate with tvOS and allow for controls on the iPhone lock screen like every other media app, (including Plex). But going FOSS is definitely worth that feature. This first update fixed most my complaints!
King Anthony, could you please fix the bug where I need to click on seasons and select the season again for shows to appear without the app crashing?
Thank you for everything. thank you for unshackling the masses from the pains of subscriptions. open source is going to be the answer to all when it comes to saving the planet from greed. please do not ever allow this beautiful gift of the gods to turn into the sinister evil twin we know as plex.thank you to this entire community for making something so beautiful, complex and unbelievably useful; and the fact that yet it remains so humble is just beyond words. Thank you again.
Swiftfin is a fast, native video player that works with Jellyfin, the open source free software media server. To use the app, you must have a Jellyfin server set up and running. Find out more at https://jellyfin.org With a Jellyfin server, you can: - Watch Live TV and recorded shows from your Jellyfin server (additional hardware/services required) - Stream your video to your iOS/iPadOS device - View your collection in an easy to use interface This is an official Jellyfin companion app.
