Nice Game

SteamPower1830 is fun starting out. Just 2 personal things I don’t like. 1) Tutorial is pretty good, but I wish they had more documented gameplay instructions. 2) Disappointed with how they implemented pay to play. The learning curve from medium to hard is very steep and expensive just guessing by how the game is laid out. If you pay for the “extras”, the hard levels are much “easier”. I would have preferred a path to the harder levels that would let me play with the “extras”, first, to understand how they affect the game play. Then I would be more willing to pay for them - try before you buy. You can’t do that right now.

Pretty Good Game

This game is a pretty good game to play and makes for a fun experience. However there a few things that I feel restrict the game from five stars. 1. The game is a hexagon based game, which—while making controls easier—causes there to be very limited building and creativity in a round. 2. There is some limitations for the game from the micro transactions. Sure these games allow the game to be ad free, but the micro transactions block about a 3rd (on average) of the things you can get in a game. However the goods outweigh the bad on this game as, while there may be some hindering, the way the game is played and how all of the money and monopolies work make it an absolutely great game to play.

Amazing game!

SteamPower1830 is a great game by itself, but I'd like to see a more explanatory tutorial on how to strategize to win a game, and I'd like to see more content like upgradable trains or a dual train track on 1 hexagon or trains that are unlocked as time progresses, to put a few ideas out there. Now I'm not one of those people that asks straight up for these ideas, I know making a game that is on Mobile AND Computer can't be easy, and I don't even know if the Dev team is big or just 4 guys in a garage so I don't expect big changes. But at least the game is updated every time there's a new iOS released. One more thing. The game could be made a little easier. Like for example, food is worth almost no monetary value later in a game, same for wood, but not as much. As I said, the game is fine by itself. I appreciate the amazing game that sticks out of all the other tycoon games on the App Store and even on pc too, I think. I wish the dev team the best of luck on this game and future projects.Overall Rating - 9/10 - 5 stars

One of the Best Mobile Games Out There

I’ve enjoyed playing this game very much. It has a nice mix of strategy and relaxation. I’m able to chill playing this game but at the same time still have to think about what I’m doing in order to complete each level. The game’s mechanics themselves are not that complicated so it’s really easy to pick the game up for a few minutes every now and then. The simplicity of it, not having to worry about perfect angled rails or steep slopes, etc., makes it very easy to connect cities, yet at the same time the game has the aspect of managing cities supplies. It has a very good complexity to strategy ratio, meaning you can spend more time focused on actually playing the game and not having to worry about if your tracks are lined up just right (referring to the tiles implemented into the game, simplifying structure and railroad placement). The only problem I have is not being able to play a book in the background. I have very few apps that actually keep me from listening to a book/music in the background and this is one of those. But it doesn’t take away from the game itself so there is no need to lower the rating at all. Overall though, fantastic game, and I look forward to playing through more levels. 10/10

Amazing!!!! Recommended

I was searching up for a game when I saw this. Very good game and design, and it is creative (that’s the kind of game I’ve been dreaming about for ages) But still some flaws are present. For instance, the levels get really hard from the second half of the game which makes it almost impossible to win; also, the golden coins should be rewarded as a way to redeem them. However, after all, it is an amazing game!!

Great game but late is a bit too hard. Also some suggestions.

This is a great game but the late game stages are too hard and should be made easier. The game stops becoming fun in late game because you are forced to work at an extremely fast pace and race the clock to the point that the game becomes less about actually playing the game and more about rushing the clock and usually failing. HOWEVER, if you like that kind of play style during the end of a game then you will love the game throughout the entire time you play it. If we could get free premium currency, say 1 gold every 1 or 2 days that we login, that would be very helpful. Also the wheels on the train engines do not rotate or move, so please make them animated. Also if valleys were added to the game with bridges being required to build over them and oil being a cargo available in 1920 would be great. This is one of the best transport games on the iPad. One last thing. Tunnels through mountain ranges please?

Good train strategy game

I enjoyed playing through the intermediate levels of this game. The graphics are more than good enough for this game type, and it’s fun to see your trains chugging around. The gameplay is somewhat simplified (no sloped land, no double tracks) but there are enough strategic choices to keep a gamer satisfied. Unfortunately, on my small device, I can only see five trains at once on the control panel. The order in which trains are sent off matters due to the game design, and the game does not allow automation. Five trains is not enough for all of the [crazy] strategies I’d like to try on the expert levels. I’ve therefore decided to move on to other games. For those who like trains and have the budget for a larger device, though, this game is really worth trying.

Great game once you get the hang of it.

Very pleasing. After a kinda slow start and tutorial, the game picks up pace and you can experiment a little and find what works, like connecting tracks between 3 cities, allowing time for resources to grow and spread them out between towns. Focus one resource at least per town so there is always something to ship out. The game stalled a couple times. There’s no explanation at the beginning, but don’t waste time trying to figure out how to make an account. After the tutorial, you can set up an account. A couple of glitches will be taken of in future updates, surely.

Game instructions?

Don't be fooled!! This game is a ripoff! No game instructions, guides or info on how to win, play or strategize. It is as though the creators made it so they can fill their pockets rather than create something fun to play. Leaving players to just "figure it out," costs money and it is deeply wrong. Also, I find people who expect others to pay for the same game over and over again to be the same folks heading straight to hell. No one should get paid over and over for the same anything. If I buy a board game, should I have to pay each time I play it? This company is just one more money grubbing company to add to the pile. It is my opinion that only losers will play this game...losers with a lot of money to lose.

Fun without money grubbing

Overall a nice diversion. This is a very playable train game with more complexity than I have had time to explore. I’m doing free to play and after the first 4 scenarios so far it’s working well. In other simulations, it’s important to keep trains running. This one stops the calendar when no trains are moving so I find it easier to send them all, wait til they stop, plan, build/upgrade, and send all trains again.I dropped the rating 1 because there is no ability to automate a standard route. One part of the graphics that takes getting used to is selecting the station. You have to select the platform, not the station. Great for the casual gamer. You can pick it up and put it down without timers constantly dragging you in to do something.Dropped it another star after running hard mode. It wouldn’t be too difficult if you could stage trains before starting any. Too often you’re waiting for a train to clear the track before you can assign cargo, much less send the train.Convert this to turn based and it’s a huge winner.
