Amazing game

I absolutely love this game! So much fun and a really nice challenge. My only gripe with this game is why are there so many unlock-able add not enough starts unlock them all. They keep adding more levels which I wish was way more but then they add more content to unlock without enough stars to grab them all. Not even replays give you more stars. Either way that’s my only issue. I love the expert only area and thought that was a great add and a massive challenge. Need more and more of these as us that still play and check weekly for updates need that challenge. Thanks for a great game and I can’t wait for more content. This is a game that I would def pay for if it wasn’t in arcade.

Best Game on App Store

This is my first and probably the only app review I will write on the App Store. This game is incredible and addicting, making it the best game available on the App Store. I have completed every level with 3 stars as soon as they release them. It is so much fun to play and is designed very well. I can’t recommend this game enough. The only downsides are the quick battery drain and the levels are too easy to complete. I find myself finishing the levels fairly quick, leaving me waiting months for them to release more levels. Hopefully they release more levels soon and it doesn’t take months like this most recent update did. I also hope they create more levels similar to “The Lab Experts Only” that are more difficult and challenging, because in my opinion the levels that are near impossible to complete with 3 stars are the most fun. But overall, it is a great game and I’d give more than 5 stars if possible.

Amazing and perfect!

I want to preface this by saying I completely love this game in every way I’ve completed the main story three times with all jewels. I think it is a masterpiece and marvel of modern game site. On the other hand I would love more save files, I have completed this game so many times I’ve maxed out the same files and would love more so I don’t need to delete my old ones. Another thing that would be helpful is maybe lowering the difficulty ramp in the one chance mode. I think it’s just a bit too quick of a spike and would love a few more one chance levels too, the one chance mode is not my favorite. Also I noticed that sometimes while you are swinging and you bounce off a wall it will change direction but other times while you were swinging it just rubs against the wall, I assume this is a purposeful design choice but sometimes it just does not feel right. Thank you for creating such an amazing game, I loved thumb drift too. And I think you’re an amazing game developer!

Wonderfully satisfying one button game

I’ve played dozens of Apple Arcade games, and I’d rank this among my top 3. An absolutely beautiful game, at the same time stress-relieving but engaging. The environments are all gorgeous, and I love that you are able to customize each level with your favorite. Would love to see more environments in the future, but I can tell a lot of time and effort was put into these, so that may be difficult. I also appreciate that even though this is a one button game, the devs included controller support. A huge bonus for me as I often prefer sitting back on the couch and playing without having to hold my iPad. The only other improvement I’d ask for would be to try to get the iPad Pro version to be able to run at 120fps, I’m pretty sure it’s running at 60fps as of writing. Not sure if this is an engine limitation or if it just needs some optimization, but that would be the icing on the cake. Hope to see more from these devs in the future!

Great game! What's up with daily challenge though?

I love this game! The levels are relatively easy even the ones where you only get one change to use an anchor. So I finished it quickly. But there's a daily challenge! Yay!However, I can't figure out how it should work. Sometimes I put in a time and I get a ranking. Sometimes it doesn't matter how often I play it, I never get ranked. I also have serious questions about the fastest times for certain challenges. I'll see top times that are so fast, they seem impossible to me. Not talking a couple of seconds but 20 to 30 seconds faster than what I'm able to pull off, even if I make no mistakes. So either I'm missing something in how the game can be played or something else is going on.

Finally completed level 146 with 3 stars!!!

I didn’t think it was possible, as months ago I played this game quite frequently, but I got stuck at level 146, where after perhaps 100+ attempts, I could not complete the level with 3 stars. At that point, I had enough and so I deleted the game. Fast forward to today, where I decided to re-download the game, and after maybe a dozen attempts, I was finally able to complete level 146 with 3 stars!!! 👍Great to see that the developer added more levels since the game was initially released. So I now have a renewed interest to move beyond level 146 and keep playing. It feels good to be playing this game after a long hiatus, as I love the game’s built-in music soundtrack, and it is a fun game to play, although it still is quite challenging!

Simple, yet challenging and still fun

The simplicity of this game is wonderful. The graphics and gameplay are perfect, and it’s still challenging enough that it will keep you hooked until you complete all the levels with full stars. The only reason I can only give it 4 stars instead of five is that for the daily challenge, it’s clear that the top scorers have either found a way to cheat or they just don’t exist. And since the game doesn’t offer a chance to see a replay, it’s impossible to know which one it is. But it is simply impossible to achieve some of the times that are being displayed. Unfortunately, that will keep the game from a perfect rating.

Another vote for haptics!

Overall, this is a game that’s worthy of your download and time. Solid physics, fluid visuals and quality sounds effect + score. That being said, I was super bummed to discover that this game has zero haptics. I read another review where one of the devs explained they had incorporated it, initially, until it began to cause unforeseen consequences and this is truly a shame. I know the team says they’d like to add it back at some point so I just want to say I REALLY hope you take this serious and figure out a way to make this work because this is the type of game where haptic response really shines and adds a lot to the total experience. Other than that, I’m really digging the game so far (chapter 9 or 10 atm), thanks for the hard work!

No Flow - Just Leaps of Faith

I’ve played over 100 levels of this game, and it is shocking to me how disappointing it is, because the core conceit is actually quite a good one.Flow in gaming means getting to a state where you can turn off your brain and just be successful at handling new challenges, because you’ve been taught through mechanics and lesson design how to approach the game. That’s not present in Sping. Do you like when you die for no reason in a game? Then maybe you’ll enjoy Sping. Frequently, the level design attempts to break up repetition by introducing difficulty in the form of leaps of faith. There’s no amount of reflex or flow state in the world that can prepare you for them, you just have to die and then memorize the location that the level killed you and try again, often losing 80-90% of your level progress, hoping that you can tap at the right time when there are no actual tells in the level to indicate the death trap ahead. Cheap level design definitely does the game no favors.I think a simple change that could improve the experience somewhat would be to visually indicate the ranges for various level features, since none of them are very intuitive. The grappling range of the hooks and the suction range of the pipes and exits should be communicated to the player somehow.

The ‘Ted Lasso’ of Apple Arcade

So hear me out about this review title: As I was working my way to the point where I could write this I was thinking about all the things I liked about this game. First and foremost is the degree to which I was hooked from the first round. The simplicity of the control. The clarity of purpose. The gentle visual prompts. The fact that ‘failure’ doesn’t feel so much like failure as much as it does “Oh, I see. Just do this instead.” Might take a couple of tries, but positive reinforcement is emphasized over negative reinforcement. Success feels good and failure isn’t the end of the world. Then I got to its entry in Arcade and start reading the copy. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually experienced this before, but it’s actually accurate! The words they use to describe the game actually corresponds to the experience of playing it. So yeah. I’m hooked. After a year, there’s finally a second game on Arcade I love (rather than ‘it’s ok’). If (and only if) you enjoy physics-based (flying, spinning, running, jumping) type games, I’d highly recommend it. It’s not for everyone because nothing is. But if it is your type of thing, give it a try. You’ll feel better after.
