Icon always shows 12:34

Would be way better if the icon showed the time instead of always 12:34.

Kindergarten simple.

Tells you the present solar time in your location. Pretends nothing more. Straightforward and uncomplicated.

What’s not to like?

This app does exactly what it claims to do. No more, no less. I’ve had it on my iPhone for over three years and refer to it often. A nice, reliable gadget.

Thanks for a useful app!

I have this on my iPhone and my iPad. It installs super fast and all I had to do was allow it to access my location and it immediately shows the time of day based on the location of the sun. That’s exactly what I wanted.One thing that I would like to see the app do is have the icon for it show that local time. Or no time at all. The icon has 12:34. No a.m. or p.m. Since I know that never changes, it doesn’t fool me. I have it right next to my Clock app, which shows the official standard time, so would be nice to be able to see them side-by-side ride on my desktop, without having to actually open the app.

Description

This application shows the apparent solar time, the time you would see on a sundial at your current location. It is the combination of the mean solar time (which depends on the longitude at your current position), the time difference from the solar equation which changes over the year because of the ecliptic path of the earth around the sun and optional daylight saving in the summer. That means the solar time at 12:00pm (noon) is the time of the highest sun position.
