Super smooth to use
Sent coffee to Korea, the system is very user friendly and she was happy with it!! I will recommend this to all my friends that have family/friends living overseas.
Needs a rewards system
This app is very useful for me, and I use frequently. I just wish they would implement some sort of points/rewards system for discounts as they have none. As someone who uses an app like this weekly, it would be a great incentive in keeping me and others using this app and recommending in the future.
Want to see payment receipt details
I hope it shows receipt details like a few years ago. I was able to see how much I paid for service fee and original product by that time’s exchange rate .But, I’m not sure if it reflects exchange rate daily now and how much service fees are.Other than this, I’m satisfied with using Sodagift!
This is mainly to email gift certificates and coupons
Very disappointed that so few items could be ordered for physical delivery. Other than flowers most items involve emailing your gift recipient a coupon. I hope they add more items for delivery someday. Emailing a coupon is bad form in many instances.
Overall efficient & satisfactory
App - Being able to send US and S.Korea is definitely an advantage since not many companies send food items as well as gift certificates after calculated currency. It offers a pretty wide variety of items so I would give it an overall good rating.Improvements - Just like how the US has Grubhub, Doordash, and Ubereats, Korea has Bae-min which is very frequently used for delivery for food items. Having a gift certificate for that company would definitely reduce having certificates for chicken or other food items that most people consume through delivery.
Good but bad
It’s great that there’s an option to send gifts to people in Korea.The bad thing about this app is that the people who run this app can’t extend the coupon for you or refund the unused expired coupon. Also when you want a refund on the expired unused coupon and you don’t live in Korea and don’t have a Korean bank account, you can’t get a refund.I kept asking customer support of this app the same questions multiple times because I didn’t get the answer that I needed. I had to spend money to call Korea to talk to customer support that issued the coupon to get clarity.
Simple way to send gifts
I’ve used this app a few times now to send anything from a Starbucks gift, a cake, to a small appliance. The selection at was limited but every week more things are being added. Just recently they added appliances and even Christmas themed gifts. In my experience, shipping is fast. I ordered a cake and it arrived the very next day! I didn’t even have a chance to tell the recipient was something on the way! Another item only took two days. The app UI and UX has also improved. Performance has been better. A very early build would occasionally freeze and I would have to restart the app. Lately I’ve been using it more and found it’s snappier and I haven’t had it freeze on me. Its a very promising app and kudos to the whole team!
So blast
This app is remarkably amazing there are a lot of the korean brands you can choose them and not so much expensive!!!No spams scans and no need to go to either fed ex and usps !!! They asked you to use the link or mms so easy!!! I dont know why i couldnt find this so early:(( I hope they do have a lot of set menus for cheap prices:)
Very limited selections and poor customer support
Disappointing selection of gift options. It is mainly online certifications. And it doesn't let me make any purchase. The customer support opens only Monday - Friday 10 am to 7 pm in Korea time. So if you live in North America region, you can not expect to hear from them as soon as you want. Also, the comments hearing from them are going to be like this:“First of all, please let me know your email on SodaGift for guidance. Also, I recommend you try to make a payment again after deleting the app.”“First of all, If you can't pay in the sodaGift app, I recommend you to update the app to the latest version. Also, I would like to inform you that we accept major credit cards and debit cards (Visa, Master, Amex, JCB, etc.) as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Alipay.”
Hands down the best gifting app ever🙌
If you want to send mobile gifts to Korea, this app is a MUST. Since Kakao gift isn’t available anywhere else but Korea, ways of sending gifts to Korea are minimal. I’ve been in the US for almost a decade, and I can’t even count how much money I’ve spent on UPS and other parcel companies to send gifts to families/friends in Korea. I just wish there were more items for both Korea & US/Canada. (Especially deliverable items for North America)
