Display your art with Smartist

Smartist has become my virtual gallery of sorts. I’m a photographer selling prints and my old method of creating wall previews was very clunky. To the point where I didn’t do it enough because it was too much effort. Smartist allows you to get your art onto an attractive wall and save as Instagram story, post, even as a slider. *Without a pay wall and watermark* You can pay for a membership which gives you access to more templates and features but for me this perfectly suits my needs.

Truly enjoying this!

I’ve used a number of services in the past of a similar vein but they all required me to use to laptop and were a bit clunky. Either that or I’d find myself having to comp them together myself in photoshop. This eliminates either of those situations. It’s all available on my mobile app, it’s quick and robust, giving you a great number of options for various rooms (and they keep adding more!) as well as many variations and options to crop and export the images. Also I find the angle view to be a really unique feature. With the paid version you get a version of most space at an angle, so it gives the opportunity to show the viewer a better idea of how it’ll look in a space. I also find that the compositing is pretty realistic, not always easy to tell that it’s a composite image, which is great. Many of these services look like fake rooms with fake art and it doesn’t do the art much justice. I don’t find that to be the case here at all. Feels very natural.

Get the Pro version, you won't regret it

I used the free version for 10 minutes before purchasing the Pro upgrade, which is well worth it. As an artist, being able to put together a realistic and great looking mockup in just a few minutes is a lifesaver. Everything is intuitive and the app is very easy to use. I like how there are different interior categories - Gallery, Residential and Commercial. There's even a simple blank wall setting where you can select different wall colors, textures and shadows. And the angled / perspective view is a nice touch. Customer service is amazing! They proactively reached out for suggestions on how to improve, and it looks like the app is constantly updated with new environments. Definitely one of the best visualization apps I've seen, and I would highly recommend. Kudos Smartist!

Great app, simple and easy to use

I really like the app. It’s very easy to use. The best part is that it’s just upload your image, pick a background, and boom, done. There’s a variety of backgrounds available. Currently I believe they are grouped by room type “gallery, dining room, bedroom”. It would also be nice to be able to filter by aesthetic or to have backgrounds for certain looks. Labels and groupings like “bright and airy, vintage, etc” like themes since people still do aesthetic feeds, this would be a bit easier to find one that fits your brand if the backgrounds are organized by look and feel in addition to room type. A feature suggestion would be batch editing. Right now, I upload one image at a time and then work on that one, then save. It’d be faster to upload a bunch of images at once, select backgrounds/edit (these edits could apply to all images in the batch), then save all.Overall the app is great! I hope to see it continually improve.

Perfect for putting artwork into context

I do resin art and I kept seeing other artists posting mock-ups of their work, and I wanted to be able to do that also. I saw someone tag Smartist so I went and checked it out. I have nothing but good things to say. They offer a ton of different settings like living rooms, bedrooms, minimalist spaces, and even art gallery settings. You have the ability to add frames and matting to your work and you can change color schemes as well. The quality and detail of the resulting images shows off your work to its maximum potential. This is excellent for marketing artwork.

Innovate

If all this app ever does is introduce new interiors, the public will stop viewing it as a useful tool as it becomes over saturated with new and basically similar settings. What the public needs from this app is features, such as reel creation, video production, 3d sculpture display, custom shape canvas display, social media integration. Movement in photo and video display is becoming increasingly popular amongst social media platforms(the primary way artists are presenting their work). If your company were to add these features, you would see dramatic increases to not only customer base and customer satisfaction but also an increasing demand for your product. Call it a “platinum-plan” and charge double the amount of your premium for these features. Overall this app is great, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Great application & customer service!

I’ve been using this app since the day it’s been launched. Very delighted with the customer service. Support team is very responsive, they ask questions on how to improve the service & the product itself. Love the approach they’re taking & as an artist this app has been very helpful for me to showcase my art & do sales. If you’re looking for a combination of quality product & customer service, this is the product for you. Cause I definitely found the gem in the app store. Great job for the developer team!

Overall really helpful

UPDATE: They added Landscape mode!!! This app is pretty much perfect now!I think this app is one of the best options for artists and photographers wanting to sell their work and create mockups. It’s fast, powerful and looks great, which is the most important aspect. My favorite aspect is the customization it allows. Choosing two dimensions within a scene is fantastic, and changing color options so naturally works well too. A few things: on the iPad, please allow us to work in Landscape mode. If there’s an option for it, I don’t see it. I use my iPad on my desktop with e a keyboard, and it’s a bit of a pain to be forced to use the app outside of this environment. Also - maybe I missed it - but is there a way to just copy an item I’ve already made and create a new piece with different dimensions? It seems I have to go through the entire process of uploading for each new piece I make. Thanks!

Beautiful app

I’ve tried a few apps in the past, wasn’t happy and have been doing it myself for quite a while… This is very different! Artists are given a lot of choices including frames, mat sizes and even angle view. It gives a shadow, which can only be achieved in Photoshop, giving your artwork a realistic look. The interiors are very pleasing and will work for any art style. Even a free version gives you choices, but definitely a paid version is a way to go, so many beautiful options! I highly recommend this app to fellow artists! Karina.

Artist view — all about the presentation!

There are so many genres of art and varying clients and collectors, I’ve found that packaging is pretty key to presenting your work. I have clients that have an idea about what they want but can’t quite see it in there home, office, etc. My clients range from those who are very art knowledgeable to those that connect with a piece but can’t see it packaged in their home. Smartist gives you the ability to present your work in so many settings that your client can connect too. Whether a minimalist setting to a cozy warm setting above their fireplace, Smartist gives you all those options. When I have a client that wants a large piece I will paint a thumbnail (12”x16”) and then using Smartist I can place it in a similar setting in their home, office, gallery, etc., in a 48”x72” version of the thumbnail. Smartist scales it for you! It’s a great way for a client to see it and say I want it. I have presented pieces in social media using Smartist and drawn more attention than just posting the art alone. It simply professionalizes your work and the interiors don’t distract from the piece they instead make your piece the focal point. I look forward to Smartist updates and hope it continues to be simple and affordable to use. Thank you to the developers and the visionaries of Smartist!!
