It’s ok

There are some good things about putting together a self tape with this app. I’m not sure quite why but the sound quality is bad. And if you’ve recorded scene audio of the other dialogue the sound quality is really bad by the time you have recorded your actual lines. I thought at first it was my phone but the regular video sound is great. So a semi useful tool here but I stopped using it almost immediately because of sound quality issues.

Good App but gets stuck

It’s seems good so far but it gets stuck from time to time trying to upload videos that may be over a minute long. I’ve must of deleted and reinstalled this app now going over 6 times in less than two days. Other than this slight issue that needs improvement, I do plan on continuing to use the app as I find it good to get your feet wet and be more professional in the field. Thanks.

Add this feature!

I LOVE this app, but if you could add 1 thing, it will be even better!!For the recorded audio, give us the option of tweaking the voice lower or higher. The app “Line Learner” does that (selection in “characters”). Then the reader doesn’t sound like me. It’s such a simple addition.Also why is the video not as good as video without being in the app? Your app somehow reduces the quality & it’s not the end compression because my slates that I import come out fine after compressed. It’s a huge, noticeable difference between the quality of my slate & the quality of my audition - both shot with the same camera, just the slate is filmed without the app & then imported to the app.

Audio Issues!!!!

I have been using this app for YEARS now but unfortunately during quarantine I’ve now noticed that the AUDIO taped volume is automatically louder than my audition!!!! WHAT HAPPENED? I never had to use a mic before! And I have auditions due too soon to add anything to this tape now. Am I missing a way to do this where there’s balanced volume like before? What is this new issue?????

Best customer service

David from Customer service was amazing. Not only did he get back to me in a timely manner, he offered multiple suggestions when I was having issues uploading some files. Issues was resolved and couldn’t have done it without him, this app is the best.

ALL MY TAKES WERE DELETED

So this is the THIRD time this has happened with Slatable. I did 5-6 takes for an audition that had a quick turnaround. I go to then create another scene for my slate and when I go to compile the audition video the takes I did are GONE (like all of them). Then with barely 30 minutes to spare I had to do it all over again through the normal camera app and had to then edit it myself.I’m sure most actors can relate in that the WORST thing that can happen when you’re taping an audition is for you to get the take you’re happy with, only for it to be DELETED. My stress level was through the roof. An app that’s supposed to help me, made things awful. I ended up having to submit a take that I wasn’t happy with just to submit something before the deadline.I used to love this app because it was helpful and saved me time (by not having to worry about editing/adding a title page, agent contact info, etc), but this totally ruins it if it can’t seem to keep the most important part (the actual audition). OH and I have the premium version of the app (paid for it a while ago).So word to the developers: PLEASE fix this.And to fellow actors: BEWARE! And if you’re set on using the app, make sure to save each take onto your phone before going onto the next take/scene because saving it within the app obviously doesn’t work every time.

Fix audio please!

Worked perfectly my first audition I used it on. The second time around the playback audio kept changing the volume from high to low at random times. Hissing kept coming in and out. Tried the suggestions it has on the “help” site. My iOS is up to date and my noise cancellation is off. I recorded the audio farther away. Nothing worked. Waste of time to record the whole audition and find out later, through playback you can’t even use it. Will jump rating to a 5 once the audio is fixed.

Makes things Easy

Our business changed and Actors are responsible for putting ourselves on tape all the time. I hated it so much & feltso inept at it that I often would skip the opportunity...Until Slatable came along! Thank you for making it so easy that someone like me who has such a difficult time with technology in general can use it...you thought of everything! Every step is explained and the product is so Professional & exactly the parameters & guidelines that casting wants from us. Honestly, it’s a huge Relief not having to worry about that part of things so I can focus on the actual work! No more missed Opportunities! Thank you!

Not compiling! Second time this app has failed me

I have done all the trouble shoots- uninstalled saved the takes- reloaded them- I have plenty of space on both my iPad and my phone and it will not make the audition compilation- I don’t have time for this my audition is due tomorrow and i don’t foresee his being fixed. Unreliable, it worked perfectly the night before last and nothing on my end changed. Super frustrating when I have a deadline. This app is super unreliable- oh just shoot and compile your videos and send away/ does not happen. This app needs to be airtight for all versions of updates iOS. I almost missed a last minute call due to this app for the SECOND time. I shot the entire video and thinking -cool all done just edit and compile. Does not export nor does it compile the videos. I will NEVER recommend this app to anyone for fear the same thing will happen to them and they will hate me as much as I hate that I chose to use this app ever. Had to reshoot the entire thing NOT using the app. Junk!

Not Compiling My Videos

I LOVE Slatable! I self at least 3 times a week. And this app gave me leg up when self submitting. I love the new design and layout looks great. Since I use the app so much, figured I’d pay for the pro, which is rare. I’m a broke actor! Ha Since I’ve upgraded it nothing’s working. I did one video, but after that it hasn’t worked. My videos won’t compile. I’ve restarted my phone, the app. Tried doing it with my head shot and without (new feature) but nothing. I’ve tried now all day. Also when you hit trim while editing a scene or take it would be nice if something shows or indicates that he video is trimming. Currently nothing happens for like 3-5 seconds and then the screen refreshes. So When editing when you hit trim but also hit save before it’s done, the video doesn’t actually trim. Then you wait till after it’s compiled to see the Clip wasn’t trimmed. But again if you don’t know that screen will refresh after a few seconds and hit save before it’s done etc.. so I’ll keep trying to compile my self tape and hopefully it works.
