Good, still needs work in the diagram department

Very helpful in making light plots, but doesn’t seem to react to my touch very well when want to move and rotate objects. Also, it would be great to have a switch to toggle between a rotate and adjust position option when using the circle pad to move objects for finer adjustments. Love all the light options

Diagrams need work, the rest is great

Love the app except for a few quirks with the diagrams portion, lighting portion works great for me. Text notes on diagrams renders to PDF super weird, everything looks fine until you try to export then it can land text blocks on top of each other.Walls… the blocks for drawing walls are silly, just give me a decent line tool. Take notes from a floor plan app for thisEquipment descriptors. You really need to be able to move those around otherwise if you put stuff close together it gets all jumbled. I realize I can put stuff farther apart and tell someone it actually needs to be close but it’s better if the illustration can match closer to what I want.It would be nice to have a clearly defined edge of render, so you have a defined max space that will all be captured that you can see while working.

Must have tool!

The Sidus app is an amazing and powerful tool for the filmmaker of any budget, it empowers my team and I to make lighting adjustments on the fly, program effects, go over diagrams for scheduling, and much more! Plus paired with my bridge it revitalizes and breaths new life into my legacy Aputure products which is a wonderful addition.

Console Mode Workflow is Amazing

I already have a very smooth experience with Sidus Link for iOS. Sure, there are bugs here and there but the Sidus Link team is always very responsive when I have a question and are pretty quick to fix any bugs that come up.I really like the advanced Workflow tools you can have with Console Mode on the bigger screen. You can control all of your lights without ever leaving the mode because the additional screen real estate means you don’t have to switch to other screens. It’s made my workflow on set very fast, and I prefer using iPad Console Mode to the iPhone version.Now just waiting on Sidus Pro FX for iPad. Can’t wait!

Diagram Master!

Absolutely love this app. It has the cleanest UI for wireless lighting control on the market. But honestly my favorite feature is diagram master. I’m a huge fan of lighting breakdowns and this is the best tool I’ve found for the job. It will even calculate the power draw from the lights for you. It’s a really handy tool to keep around for location scouts to effectively communicate a lighting plan to your team. It’s become an essential part of my workflow.

Solid and easy to use

This app is great. I love that I can set up a few lights, click on the app on my iPad, and create a few groups easily and adjust colours and intensity. I do not expect this app to replace my gaffer and a grand MA console, I do not expect this app to replace a 500 dollar iPad lighting console app, I don’t expect to add in other brands.I also am happy I can use the app without having to create seven universes, program dmx, use my computer science degree to get color and saturation working.Love this app. Love it for what it is. So happy this is a quick down and dirty way to simply and easily control the apurture lights.

Virtually perfect app

I’ve been using sidus link mobile for Aputure products for a year now, and it’s amazing! It makes makes lighting scenes more efficient and exciting! I’m excited to start using the new iPad version so I can just leave the iPad up and open on set as a dedicated lighting controller, as well as use the diagram master to demo and model the scenes with my team! I wouldn’t mind a single purchase of the upgraded features vs a subscription, but I can see how that would be useful! And I will be subscribing regardless! Besides a few fixtures that I’m sure are on the horizon (tubes), Aputure is quickly claiming space in my whole kit!

Failure to save

Losing hours of work to a faulty save system isn’t sitting well with me right now. It went something like this: Create plot > Save Plot > Close App > Reopen App > Plot has scenes missing > Recreate missing scenes > Save Plot > Close App > Reopen App > Scenes missing again!2 Stars because it can still run the lights at least.

Network failed repeatedly

Paid $10 since the free app was working for me with my 2 MC’s. Even thought this app can blink the lights, show me power levels, and adjust brightness, it constantly says network failed so none of the color options or color picker is available. Tried resetting and placing the lights next to my ipad, but no luck. Bluetooth settings say everything is fine, so the app is useless. Save your money until they fix this.

As a photographer using two MC light

As a photographer using two MC lights, I got no complaints the lights connected easily and quickly via Bluetooth and not be restricted by Wi-Fi outside of a build was very nice, there hardly was any lag when making changes away from lights and being near the camera was very nice. Oh and with the exception of Bluetooth the iPad could remain in plane mode.👌
