A must-have if you administer OS X servers.

I have a number of OS X servers at work, and even one at home. While iStat is nice, for OS X this can't be beat. Being able to monitor services is exceptionally useful, and I've already used the reboot feature to solve a problem from home. Well-worth the price, and I expect there will be more functionality in the future. Support is excellent as well - I received a response to a problem in only a few hours.

solid and useful app

Thanks so much for putting together this server admin app! It's a little slow with 8 servers added (3GS), but by all means usable. I'd love to see the "jump to server" screen have a bit more information to make it more useful for getting an overall picture of your servers' health. For instance uptime can be shortend to 12d22h00m rather than spelling out each unit. This would leave more room for complete network utilization and maybe even additional info. Good job beating Apple to the punch. :D

Indispensable for OS X Server

I bought a Mac Mini to build an HTPC box—the Mini came with OS X Server, which I didn't really want. Over a year of ownership, I learned just how powerful and easy the Mini is to set up my own private cloud services: private web proxy, email, VPN, VNC, calendaring, addressing, chat, web server—the works. I use this little app all the time for checking status, backups, logs, HTPC disk usage, and most everything else. It's very close to five stars if it could replicate useful Server Admin functionality like updates and restarts, all with opt-in security settings.

Amazing App! Extremely Functional and A Must For Any Sys Admin!

Server Admin Remote is an indespensible tool for me and I have only been using it a few days. I am a consultant and deal with many clients servers. Frequently I will get an emergency call where I need to see exactly what's going on with someones server. This application allows me to remotely access the server, see exactly what might causing an issue and even allow me to remotely reboot the client machine! There is also a great feature to look at connected disks and see how much disk space has been consumed. It is by far one of the finest tools I have used and it all happens on an iPhone. I would gladly pay double for this application.

Good, but needs a little debugging

I frequently use Server Admin and have for quite some time now. Since the last couple of updates, I frequently receive time out messages when trying to view the CPU, network and Volume graphs. The only fix is to power cycle my phone. Then it will work again for part of the day until the time out message appears again. This only affects the graphs. Nothing else in the app times out. If they fix this, I will happily increase my rating!

Finally...

...with the latest release which fixes the SSL issue, I have finally a solution better than SSH for routine system monitoring etc.One only asks oneself: why does a third party have to reverse engineer such a thing, instead of Apple providing such a solution from day one?

Excellent for Network Admins. Information and control from anywhere.

Server Admin Remote works great. I am able to see services and logs running on Leopard Servers from anywhere with VPN. I can even restart a service if someone is having a problem. I had a problem that was my fault, my email was responded to very quickly with very detailed help. I just hope they make a workgroup manager app next.

Just what I needed

Server Admin Remote allows me to check on my Mac server status, in depth, when I'm away. It's so convenient that I often use it when I'm NOT away, instead of using my desktop machine with Apple's Server Admin.Technical support is great. I reported a fairly uncommon bug and received a quick response, with it fixed in a new version within days.

Has become the "must have"

I haven't been able to find any other app that will display information from the servers I am responsible for. There are 2 in the Midwest and two here in California (and I work out of the CA office). Being able to stop/restart services with this is HUGE. Along with the app Jump if I I am out and need to quickly access, kick a service, or do a complete restart I can do it without lugging around my laptop. I also have this on my desk next to me just to monitor the information without having to fire up Apple Remote Desktop. Yes this won't replace Apple Remote Desktop and its functionality but for a "quick/dirty need to get this done now" this app rules them all.

Pricey but very handy

I've found a lot of use for this application. I initially put off purchasing it for a few months, given the expense, but I've used it on the iPhone off and on for a while now and it's been a real gem. Many times I've found I can diagnose issues, or simply double check service status without resorting to a VNC connection. On the iPhone 3G this runs fairly slowly (WiFi is slightly better), but still much faster than VNC. But on the iPad (WiFi), this app screams and the UI is brilliant. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am that they opted to release the iPad version as a universal binary rather than the now standard practice of "HD" upcharge nonsense.Great App ... seriously. Thank you!
