Great possibilities

It has a great number of options to help aid children in learning where the words go. It is nice to see that the voice can be either male or female and it is really neat that the child has to move the words into the right place with the help of the voice and the picture.

Nice introduction

This is a great introduction to beginner readers. The app is nicely set out, the pictures are helpful, the reading is clear. 2 and 3 word sentences are a perfect start. My only problem is that there were too few sentences. The app also needs to randomize the sentences so that the user does not know which sentence will come next.

Great Tool

I agree that this app needs consistency in capitalization and punctuation. Even the two word sentences need punctuation and capitalization. But a big THANK YOU for the accessibility options. My child with CP is able to tap but not drag and drop. I wish there were more apps with this feature. Please consider making your apps switch accessible, too.

Great

This app look like an activity book for learning children. They can make sentence, make their more understand about those flash card and the most important is they can apply their knowledge. I like those sound effect (after completed a sentence). Lastly i suggest to add animation effect to those flash card.

Disappointed

I was excited to find an app to help kids practice reading sentences. Once we started using it we quickly noticed that many of the entries are NOT sentences; "The big ox," for example. I teach reading for first and second grade. It's difficult enough for students to understand fragments vs. sentences. This reinforces an incorrect definition of a sentence. Call it "reading word strings," to be accurate.

Great idea

This app really helped with starting to read sentences. Some sight words were thrown in for good measure, too.

Great for reading CVC sentences.

This app has 2-word sentences and 3-word sentences that all feature CVC words. There are also some sight words used in the sentences. There are more options and sentences that can be bought through the app.

Good potential

The effects are quite nice but I could do without the Comic Sans font. Features include voiceovers. You can choose a male of a female voice. You start out with really short sentences and it's quite fun to move the words around. My one complaint is that sometimes there is no sentence building. For example, "a big ram" is not a sentence and has no punctuation. There should at least be a separate category for it.

App is magic

My son has autism. I wanted to expose him to reading in a new way. Before your app, I follow the standards and created visuals. I didn't want another communication tool for simple needs. I wanted for him to experiment with language structure and finally read. Exceptional app from preschool university. Thank you.

Description

This app will help your child become a better reader. This app helps your child to build sentences. This app helps your child to read sentences.

This app provides the missing link between reading words and reading books-reading sentences. This app gives emerging readers a step that will encourage skill building and confidence in reading. Most reading programs go from reading words to reading books, which is a big gap. This app helps to bridge that gap giving emerging readers a gradual and fun step up from reading words. These short sentences are perfect to help children gain confidence in reading sentences. This app has two modes. The first mode is sentence building where children can move the words into their correct sentence position. The second mode is the reading mode where children can read the words of the phrase or sentence and then check their work by touching the hidden picture. This app uses 2 and 3 word sentences, which are punctuated correctly and always begin with a capital letter. The picture is hidden to encourage word reading instead of "picture reading." Most young readers upon seeing the picture will guess its meaning and not even look at the words. The picture is hidden so that the child will read the words first and then only look at the picture to check their work. Prerequisite:  Sentence Reading Magic requires that a child is able to consistently and easily read 3-letter short vowel words such as bed, cat, dog, mix and mud. A child who is struggling to sound out most every word needs to develop stronger single word reading skills. If a child has to sound out each word and then, stop and think about each word, by the time he gets to the end of the sentence, he may have forgotten what the sentence was about. This is an indication that the child needs more practice blending, segmenting and building 3-letter short vowel words. The two apps that will help with this are: ABC READING MAGIC and ABC SPELLING MAGIC
